If his teammates didn't screen the goalie he wouldn't even have his little 25 goals this year because his shot is like a woman's. I've only been a hockey fan for 3 years, and the only reason I developed an interest was because of seeing Alex Ovechkin in so many "Top Ten" plays of the day. Crosby, Dyatsuk, Malkin, Stamkos, and Ovechkin are all phenomenal players, and it's not worth arguing over who's best. I know of no one in hockey over the last half dozen years who brings as much fire and energy to the game as Alexander "Sasha" Ovechkin. It's a pleasure just to watch him hit, pass, and shoot. I get a lot for my money.
The only reason Ovechkin is comparable to Crosby, is because Ovy is a freaking puck hog. And he pushes people out of the crease, including the goalie sometimes, just to get a cheap goal. Sure, it's cool when he falls down into the crease and scores, but its SOOOO much cooler to see Crosby, completely deke his way in and out of the defensemen and goalie, and take a shot and scores. Ovy isn't talent. He's cheap, aggressive crap.

Look at the stats, Ovi has played great in the playoffs so far in his career. He's just gotten no help from his teammates. Can't do it all by himself.

@46b74bb just because he's having a better year than OV or Sid doesn't mean he's the best. Just like Tim Thomas is still the best goalie, even though Elliot is on top of the stats. Athlete's in all sports can have good/bad years. Ovechkin is still the most skilled player and has the physical presence that Datsyuk lacks. Datsyuk is a better 2 way forward and more of a class act
