@EdibleMoose Yeah, she did drop down to that weight, but honestly 86 lbs wouldn't look 8:03 thin. Throughout the film she looks the 86 lbs, but not when they just show "her" putting the nightgown on. If you notice right after when she's leaning on the door 8:24 she doesn't look as thin as when she's on the scale right after she puts the gown on 8:03-the gown looks huge on that body. Idk for sure, though. Minor observation.

In every ED movie they purge really quick,it takes them like 30seconds when in reality you have to drink shitton of water beforehand and the purging can last up to half an hour or even more.

She resorted to being a mother (and a crappy one at that) so she could convince herself that she's not a failure; that motherhood is the only thing a woman is meant to accomplish and any other dream is just impossible for everyone. She can't let her daughter succeed because that would mean being a successful dancer IS possible, it just so happened that she's not good enough for it. And she can't take that.

I've gotten looks from the instructor about my weight. I could careless! I like dancing but its not what I live for. these rigid people are just control freaks who are miserable and know nothing about what it takes to be a great dancer-passion. Honestly I hope people laugh at these jerks!

its a movie, would YOU watch a movie that had like 20 minutes of someone attempting to throw up. they aren't going to spend half the film budget on an hour long scene showing someone gagging and sticking their finger down their throat for a long ass time.
they are just trying to get the point across, she purged. i dont think the directors expected everyone to get all technical about it

In these films he always see that the actress did not lose much weight, and make-up effects like few shadows painted do not help. Her face don't look like he had lost 24 punds. The scene in doctor's ofice we see they used other perosn, to how her from back very slim.

@jerryaltman No, she really lost the weight. They took off a few weeks for filming, and she went on medial-supervised liquid diet and got down to 86/87 pounds.
