This is far from the 3D version they promised at the 4th lunch! What happens with this? No news! I subscribed to dnd insider thinking that was the 3D version.... disappointing. At least I took the 1 month subscription. Guys we are in 2012 not in 1995
any word on the release date of this virtual table? all the DDI subscribers have been waiting on this for over two years now. any additional info would be greatly appreciated!
D20 pro and Maptool still look much more advanced than this. But it's still in beta so hopefully they will improve the workflow (too clunky as it is at the moment).
Agree the workflow is pretty clunky, I bet with some practice it gets managable though. I think I actually prefer this to the 3D one they previewed years back. It keeps things cleaner and simpler. This is a pretty decent solution for long-distance gaming, and I would use it.
is it just me or does it seem overly complex? All this clicking and adjusting and sorting tabs and scrolling just to attack and do damage? I hope it gets more fluid.
Well, it IS a Beta, so hopefully, WOTC will try to impliment some of the beta tester's ideas into the final product.
My 'weapon' of choice is MapTool, at this moment, but I would really like to see a product that both DM's and Player's won't have to fiddle with to play online. Voice support FTW!!!
What is this? I remember when they showed the original virtual tabletop like 4 years ago promising it would be released soon. This looks nothing like it and looks like a HUGE step back from their last demo of the D&D VT.
@IceBabyHaha The 3rd party company that they had for that couldn't come through. This new one is really nice, especially now that they've integrated the DDi tools into it. The character builder and the new monster builder, specifically. It's not 3d, but it's still very nice and user friendly.
For the most part it seems really cool, but the interface seems really, really clunky. The lack of hot keys and auto fill is atrocious, and utterly static panes are inexcusable.

The day this program comes alive, I will subscribe to D&D insider to play. I really like the program.

This would help in my online D&D sessions but apparently this has been in beta for an entire year!? WTF?

@Langsorigingaleia Wizards of the Coast are famed for their impressive laziness.

First I thought "This looks cool, I might have to get some kind of DDI subscription!"
Then I saw the clunkiness...

Very clunky looking. I'm going to re-up DDI before I judge anything, but if this takes too long to teach my players to use...

Do you have to have a DND insider account to play? I have an insider account, but I want my friends who dont have an account to play with me :P

"Voice masks are for if you are into RP" (Roleplaying) "I don't recommend them."
Haha, oh the irony.

I liked the demo though :)
