Ranma 1/2 had a great set of characters that other anime probably didn't have and it possibly inspired many modern ones. The tsundere who acts tomboyish but has a girly side. The maniacal fighter girl (who in this case has a love). The crazy dad(s) who aren't mature/dependable. The self-proclaimed rival who never gives up with no success (who doesn't listen to reason). The sly, money-making extortionist and one who has fun with peoples problems etc.

@poorvihillary I totally agree with you.. This is one of the best anime's i ever seen, and i never get bored of it. But theirs one things thats bothering me is the ending though. I really don't think this anime has a decent ending. I wanted a better ending :(. Otherwise this anime rocks:)

@azirell Well I guess it ended light and nice.... I mean they could totally continue the story if they wanted to with the current ending that they have but if they had had a more serious ending that wouldnt be possible. But you do make sense.... It would have been nice to see a more solid ending!

@azirell The deal was that the anime ended a year before the manga (1995), so it was pointless to make up for it with senseless fillers, so it was cancelled right away. The same thing happened with Inuyasha (crappy ending as well), however a second anime series was made to reveal the true ending a year after Takahashi finished Inuyasha. I wonder why they didn't do the same for Ranma.... They probably concentrated more in the OVA series
