This is the collaboration I came across previously with no label accept Satisfy You - Michael Jackson ( unreleased ) and it wasn't labeled any other way. This is the true video with Bryan Loren (Micheal Jackson background). Such a beautiful song. WOW!!
And in all honesty, that's what Michael wanted to do, his only wish: to satisfy US. And he died trying to sleep off the pressure of satisfying us. May he rest in the greatest peace. :'-(
This guy Bryon is the reason I became a producer. He is so dope. He produced a lot of Michael's Dangerous CD but Michael didn't feel he wasn't famous enough so Mike had Teddy Riley come in and redo the song but if you guys ever get to hear Bryon's versions of those songs it will BLOW your minds how hot they are. That's how cool he was with Mike he could have him on his background vocals.
@lumbia33 heyyyy I liked lollipop love... that song went number one. new Edition opened up for him that year. But I think he was 17 or 16 years old so that was cool for a kid that age. He got to &M records and grew up and so did his music. The music business did him wrong..
@BlazedaTrack heh heh... i used to dance around to lollipop love in the house... but i didn't get the lyrics until years later!!! i agree though. mr. loren does not get enough credit.
@BlazedaTrack unfort i wish MJ didnt feel that way that he wasnt " famous" enough. good music is good music.. no matter what producer is attached to it
@hupyt yeah but even superstars have their insecurities. Imagine you're being watched by 1 billion people around the world. They love your work but you feel the pressure not to fail. That pressure usually comes from a press, which is filled with negative hateful people who are reporters but are just waiting to slam an artist the first chance they get. Mostly because the reporters are envious of the artists success They can't let the public decide they have to try to make themselves important
@ritaromi i actually like 3T's I need you better, how strong he came in at the end, kinda reminded me of HIStory, or 2000 watts, but why kinda sounds like this song though
@hupyt they have worked together in many incarnations. loren worked with him primarily throught the 1990s, including the dangerous album. most famously, they co-wrote and produced 'do the bartman'. mr. loren, prior to working with michael worked with folks like vesta williams, and already had albums.
Actually, I think this one is the original, and Damian Hall's is the remake. If you listen closely, you'll hear the following differences between the two: in this one, there is no Chante Moore backing vocal, the bass guitar used on this version is different, and some of the keyboard track on this one is different (the bell sound). Nonetheless, I LOVE them both, and I always suspected that MJ was in the background and he is - on both versions, and it's uncredited on Damian's version.
wow, when i first heard this i thought someone got the artist of this song wrong....i think i like damian and chante's version better, but this isnt bad.
@ThrillerEraJavan WORD!!!!!!!!! For years I suspected Mike was in the background and that Damion Hall's version was an overdub - and then, years later, I hop on youtube and see PROOF. I LOVE both versions.
@razeworld68 And if you listen closely, you can hear that Mike's vocals are behind Chante's. They kept Mike's vocals in but didn't credit them on Damion Hall's liner notes. I know, because I had this on a Cassingle (Cassette single, a popular format in the 90s) back in 1993, and a friend of mine had Damion's album STRAIGHT TO THE POINT on which his version is feature. Teddy Riley had offered this to MJ for DANGEROUS but MJ turned it down. There's an interview with Teddy that states this fact.
@chj2 LMAO!!! I like that you explained to me what a "cassette single" was...I've had quite a few...as in my own...I worked with D on his album & also work with Teddy (on Blackstreet)...So I wasn't giving an opinion, I was giving a fact.
@razeworld68 My mistake, and no disrespect, Dude. However, I still stand by what I say and I gotta slightly disagree - I still hear Mike's voice in the background, mixed in with Chante's background vocals on my cassingle version of Damion Hall's, "Satisfy You".
@chj2 Nah Bro, I didn't feel disrespected...There is a generation that didn't experience the cassette,cassingle,maxi-single, 12 inch singles, etc. But Bryan was (& still is ) a beast in the studio...He did the backgrounds originally (with Damion)& didn't like it...He had work with Chante for her second album, knew her tone & range would perfect, but he made her "study" MJ's version...BTW, there is a version with MJ on the lead...
@chj2 Legally Bryan couldn't leave MJ on the track...Unless he said so...& he wouldn't for Damion...Big difference between Rockwell's(Barry Gordy jr) "Somebody's Watching Me" & Damion Hall...So that's Chante & Bryan in the background....But like everybody else, I Miss The Hell Out Of MJ!
@chj2 One More Thing Bro...That cassette single has an Instrumental with background vocals on it, on the b-side...Check it out(if you still got it) and compare...
Bryan You need to come back man!! This song and the other tracks you recorded on this project are fantastic! I've been a fan of your music since the first time I heard you! You are a excellent songwriter and musician! and your sound is one of a kind! I wish you much success and happiness! Do the world a favor and release this album!
I have'nt heard this in ages and it sill sounds as good as the first time I heard it. IF you have anymore songs from him please post them. Growing up he was one of my favorite artits. Thanks so much for posting this.
Damian's version came out in '93 as I remember I was dating this FINE girl the year this came out (didn't work out, though), and this song reminded me of her fine self. For years, I always suspected that Damian and Chante' had overdubbed their vocals on top of Mike's, and this song was supposed to be on "Dangerous" but Mike scrapped it at the last minute. BEAUTIFUL classic just like Damian and Chante's. THANKS!!!!I LOVE this song!
