Been dying for a Pabst but can't find one anywhere in central Florida. Just the usual Bud, Miller, Natty, shit in every gas station, Wal Mart, and super market. Even the ABC's I've been to doesn't carry them.
I love highlife and pbr but, milwaukee's best ice is good for a quick buzz thats it and same with natty ice but, the shitty ice beers give a bad type of drunk vs the high life and pbr which you feel like you got hit by a train afterwards.
I went to the gas station today in search of Miller High Life -- my regular brand -- but they were out. I picked up a 6-pack of PBR and to tell you the truth, it's not so bad. I think it tastes great, but costs slightly more than Miller High Life. At one time, I tried Milwaukee's Best. That was a horrible mistake, and I felt terrible for spending my last $3 on piss water. PBR is great. I'll definitely buy it in the future for sure.
@strangelnation Dude if your in California than I am jealous. There are so many great breweries out west that I can't get out here in FL... Cali is like beer heaven. FYI Stone, Sierra Nevada, Lagunitas, Russian River & North Coast are all CA breweries...
@strangelnation I'll make it easier... Dead Guy Ale, Brooklyn Lager, Dales Pale Ale, anything by Stone, anything by Bell's, anything by Sierra Nevada... Most of those names are easier to find, depending on where you live, of course.
@strangelnation Nah, man, I always appreciate questions... What blows my mind is a beer with a lot of flavor... like Bell's Two hearted Ale or Cigar City's Humidor IPA. IPA's are my favorite style overall but I love any beer where you can taste the fresh, quality ingredients and the flavors mesh in a positive way. (A decent price and an alcohol percentage over 6% doesn't hurt either.)
Living in Raleigh NC it's deff about the most popular beer.Served in all the upscale bars it is the brew of Raleigh made in Milwaukee also where i've lived and very popular there as well.It is quite refreshing on a hot day but i'd drink it anytime it is also good for the price and the taste is good so overall it's simply a good beer.Alot of people sleep on PBR and think something well priced is not good-nonsense.Good post alot of good info.
just curious if you've tried any beer from the boulevard brewing co in KC MO? i've watched a few of your vids and enjoy your views. thanks for everything. i may be willing to send you a couple types if interested.
@Smackless Thanks! Actually, I've had the Smokestack Double-Wide IPA once before. It was good, but maltier than I prefer. I'd love to try some of their year-round beers, if you wouldn't mind sending some.
Thank you Hog for helping show dumbass college-aged kids where the GOOD cheap beers are. I catch so much hell for drinking Schlitz (PBR is a bit more main stream in my area) and I just wanna laugh in someone's face when they're drinking their keystone/bud/miller/busch/coors light cuz the only reason they drink what they drink is cuz they cant handle the taste of real beer and probably just liked that brands commercials better
Hey, never had the Schlitz, but I agree with you! Sometimes you're just trying to keep budget, and what's wrong with getting some good brew? I really do like PBR. It's nothing like a Wipeout IPA, Long Island Lager, Dogfish 90 minute, Avery brown ale, etc, lol, but it's not bad. I had my share of bad tasting beers, and PBR has always been good to me. Keep drinking it... it's pretty good.
Great review man. PBR is an old favorite. A simple refreshing beer. Please do a RED DOG review. I think you will be shocked on how good of a beer it is for the price. I like it better then PBR. It is the cheapest beer by far around here. 13 bucks for a 30 pack plus tax and deposit. It actually has a decent amount of hops to it. Very refreshing. Please do a review!!!!
@McChicken00seven I remember Red Dog tasting like rotten ass. I would review it anyway but I haven't seen a Red Dog in at least 10 years. I don't think they distribute it down here anymore. Thanks for the comment though :)
@Hog40305 I don't think so man. Maybe a 24 or 22 ounce? I usually just grab some of it when I'm hurting for cash and want a 30 pack. 13 bucks for a 30 around here.
@McChicken00seven Its cool, if you really want to send me some it doesn't matter what size it is. PM me when you're ready and I'll give you my address.
@FistOfDarwin After work I drink the beer I'm reviewing, or I drink the beers that are left from the previous days review, or I drink a quick quart of malt liquor, although if money, my reviews, and my g/f weren't an issue I'd drink nothing but IPAs all day every day...
Marcus (chefhbeer) just did a video review of this, too. It's "the new hipster beer of choice". I think it's ok, situationally speaking, with wings, pizza, BBQ, etc.
That is a killer glass. Yeah PBR isn't bad. It does come off a little too sweet to me. Nice shotgun fail! But you gotta learn the proper way to cut the can. Check out rauscheder's channel on how to do that.
@BitterPoetMadman After this vid I picked up a 12 pack of Milwaukee's Best just to practice shotguns. Sadly, I still can't do a whole can in one shot but I got real good and cutting the hole...

@FreelyEdited Yeah, it's pretty decent. My father-in-law, a Bud, drinker, now prefers PBR. Thanks for tuning in.
