well i have actual biosilk and i work at sallys and have used the GVP, i don't notice any difference and i use the real stuff everyday

chi stuff stinks like mens cologne. biosilk smells beautiful.

i'm interested to smell the generic silk infusion. i haaaaaaaaaate how the chi smells. i've gotten used to it after awhile, but it smells like men's cologne to me. i much prefer the biosilk. but if the generic smells different, i'll definitely go for that!

I went today and purchased the GVP silk infusion. To be completely honest...it still smells like men's cologne. But, I still love it. The scent fades after a little bit.

i use all the same products and i absolutely love them. my hair is not the same without the volumizing spray. I also use the coinciding gel occasionally. It's also great in small amounts.

Watch out Emily, the Matrix Mafia will be out to get you now. A friend of mine owns a salon and once told me how much money he makes off of the salon product sales/markups. I've also had a Paul Mitchell rep tell me how the GVP products are soooo bad for you and that they are like putting pure sewage on your head. HA! The only thing that is sewage is paying $18 for a bottle of shampoo that cost $.25 to produce!! Thank you for another great review.

thanks so much for this review...i had tried the gvp products about five years ago and although they worked the same the smell was putrid. i am very scent sensitve and cant use any perfumed lotions or bath products so i am extra cautious with hair products as well. i am trying to save money on my hair products so that i can still get the haircut i want at the same salon. this is a great tip, thanks again.

I know this sounds silly but try Wal-Mart! I used a Volumizing shampoo that I believe was the "generic" version of Matrix. Suave makes an entire line of "generic" versions of Matrix, Biolage, etc. When I used it at the time, the bottle was opaque and the color of the shampoo was a light, minty green & it smelled GREAT! They've changed the packaging & now everything is white. I haven't used it for a long time but it's worth a shot b/c Suave isn't very expensive. I also love Pantene's Expressions!

try lanza color care shampoo u know how a rose keeps its color its like that... I used it a few years ago and it worked great for my way over colored hair! its by Lanza :)
