Enfin bref passons ...
Because they use a unique system of directed (I am not sure of the word) axles, which turn when there is a turn. This train does not screech in turns. But they are very fragile.
The RATP is not going to remove them before a quite long time. Isn't it Citeyosh ? ;)
When I went up to paris, i rode on this line (All the way, but I got off one stop from Louis Blanc because I had to go to the Gar du nord for my eurostar train).
I read the French Wiki recently and now know why. That is unfortunate really. Especially being that these trains could be retired earlier than any other currently operating train in the system.
So, the mf88 is basically reaching the its last years. Have they been used in other lines in the past also??

I hope line 7b can do at least 1 million journeys and I rather see the MP89 trains being replaced instead of MF88. IT IS SO SLOW!!!!

Eh bien moi je te dis que la suppression des MF 88 n'est plus à l'ordre du jour. Pour mon plus grand plaisir. :)
Et si je parle anglais, c'est parce que tlm parle anglais ici...

These trains are going to stay some years again =)

Surprising, I guess. Maybe $ issues?
I would rather see the MP 59s on this line though, than to see the 88s get further damaged

I thought they were plans to get rid of the MF88 and replace them with older, but more reliable MF67 stock.

That's what I thought. Maybe that will happen if they merge the two lines into Line 15

At some parts, these trains sound like thoese elder British main line trains when going round a bend.

Why don't these trains work properly?
HARTline2012 2 years ago
There are lots of reasons.
The english wikipedia dosn't say much about MF88 but the french wikipedia does - use google translate

These trains are a rare species now. I'd better watch 'em now before they become extinct!
