  • that guys favorite challenger is the 1978, WTF?!?!?! Is he fckin blind?

  • the shifter looks like a fckn crucumsized dick -_-

  • dodge is japanese? i can't believe it at 4:27,now people driving them cant call people ricers nd shit,

  • at 3:11 you can see the challenger front like if it's trying to pop out in the camera and it looks like its smiling x]

  • @TheTopOfTheCrop espescially these days, but now it looks like people are startin to recover from the economy

  • My two favorite cars in the world - dodge challenger and dodge charger

  • It's got a 6-SPEED MANUAL AND LOCKER DIFFERENTIAL, THAT'S ALL I CARE ABOUT!!! Manual trans & locker diff puts the mean to the street much better!!

  • You Can Keep the NEW TECHNOLOGY!! the 1970 Challenger and the 1st Era of all muscle will NEVER be beat....

  • Oh fuck!! Don't compare it to Lucas remastering the Star Wars films! Do you WANT people to hate this car???

  • ill put up my 70 any day against one of these

  • listen this is something that all american car brands are tryna do but they havent got the point yet it will be nithing like the original why dont they just bring the 70's model back and make that

  • @dam097 They can't bring the old one back, because it won't pass any of the government regulations for new cars. I gather that even the iconic shape of the bodywork can't be reproduced, because it'd do too much damage to any pedestrians you hit. It's all a load of bullshit. I mean, if you hit a pedestrian with a Dodge Challenger, it doesn't matter if you put six feet of feather pillows and concentrated love on the front bumper, their ass is done.

  • Fukin Cracker redd necc hill billy Jethro Clampet andy griffith ass Auto mobile.

  • shut the fuck up banjo playin inbread ass monkee.

  • this car is too much good !

  • 5;00 looks like your looking at the main baearing side of the block through 1 of the banks, like it.

    but

the 6.1 hemi....sucks, sorry but bigger is better (and it needs a blower)

the "growl" sounds like the suction of a vacuum cleaners flexable nozzle, god i hate modern limitations, and i hope it doesnt have the multicylinder tech, you dont buy a muscle car to be enviroment friendly, and it needs a REAl hood scoop...

  • Yes this car is out...

    I drove a red SRT8 with a 5.7L V8 Hemi...

Damn thing came with chrome 20inch rims sunroof gps dvd/mp3/cd slap stick shifter bluetooth everything...

    I think Jesus built it...

  • camaros are better

  • gets owend at 4: 26........."um...no we didnt use your favorite challenger as inspiration" haha

  • Not to say this car isn't great, because it IS! You can't be the classic model.

  • the old model looks great, but the new one is sexy as hell

  • Has anybody managed to find the location of the handbrake on this car yet? =P

  • Is this car out?

I passed one today. I thought it was an old Cuda.

  • this car needs to be put away and not driven!!!!!

  • YEAH its a new Dodge for next year

  • I love the Challenger...the new Challenger SRT is awesome in black, and i woud love to owne one....but...my favorite is still the 1970 Dodge challenger R/T with the magnum engine and in black....lool

  • nice movie , love that car !!!!!

  • i love this cars ass

  • who cares, this is a collectible, not really to be driven!!!!

  • this is BS. they said its better than Ford and Chevy's idea, bullcrap they started the retro swing. that guy needs to go die.

  • how many miles per gallon on a $4 per gallon gas?

  • rims are too big

  • Yeah, I agree

  • 40 grand for this thing. Ouch.

  • Chevy has not made a good lookin camaro since 1969.Since 1970 to current, they all were at the top of the ugly tree, fell and hit every branch on the way down.

  • The New Camaro Kicks that junks ass

  • I want.

  • the chellanger is my freinds dream car i like both and charger

  • i will never support the new muscles. they r wana be orginals. no offence to the guys who love these ones, they maybe "recreation" of the old ones. the one u never had. why pay double for the new ones when u can own orginals for half(depending on which model anyways). and all the rich people want to buy them becuz they think they'll increase in value. just giving my opinion. but i support the true and real muscles and there legacy.

  • you don't have to be rich to buy a new one...

  • They aren't really wanna be's considering their respective companies built them, as wella s the old ones.

The old muscle cars were new when they were first made, so how come these can't be muscle too? will these new muscle cars not be truely muscle cars until 30 years goes by?

  • Oh, and Momochizabuza15, no offense to you, it's not a 392 it like the hemi they did was just a little samller than the 392. It's like a 360 something. But, I'd rather have an original from 1970(If I could afford the $120,000 for the R/T 426 with Sublime Green paint)

  • Oldsmobileboy, you're a goof. The 440 had 350 horse stock, the 440 6pack had 375 horse, and the 426 had 425 horse. If nyou can somehow prove that 350 hp is more than 425 than I'll say that you're right. And munecooking, this new challenger will eat up the new camaro AND the newer mustangs, even the old ones.

  • yes its coming back. it was supposed to come in feb 2008.

  • when ill be old ill get it

  • Its coll that they are coming back but why dont they just make oldschool muscle cars and just put all the new stuff in them like traction control and abs and fuel injection for better gas mileage. You would sell so much and people would be sooo happy they could have there dream car for like 13,000 or a normal price for new cars. Common sence give people what they want and they will pay. It dont fucking matter what the designers want its what people want.

  • then nobody would want the old ones.

  • different wheels maybe lowered it a little, and it would be my dream car!

  • A waste of time AND energy for a few little boys who want their little toys. We're already paying for these jerks warped fantasies. Checked the price of gas lately?

  • *borat's voice* very nice, how much?

  • not a concept anymore!

  • me to

  • 1978 to 1982 Challenger ?

    HAHAHAHAHA! That was funny.

  • glad to see the muscle cars coming back.....

  • Not bad lookind id drive one dont know if id drop that kinda coin for one

  • Love it! Love the new Mustang and Camaro to.

So instead of childish discussions of wich one is the best.....these are wonderful times man.

  • awsum ride!!!

  • it looks good, but not good enough i guess only guys in their midlife crisis are going to buy this and the camaro! bring back the trans am, without a retro look and that would be a good competition to the mustang!

  • 3:47 fucking 10 pound rat walks in the backround

  • ahhahahhahhhahahahahaa that shit was funny

  • Your funny as hell I like people like you who notice the little things!

  • tff

  • 40 grand for this thing. Ouch.

  • damnit i HATE that..why put retarded music over this so you cant even hear the engine...retarded!!

  • Now there gettin somewhere, alot better than the 80's one...Id still like seeing some chrome up front

  • u add it urself

  • glad they kept it retro

  • thats funny when he says the engine is better know than back then...the olds hemi has the same hp and the 440 has even more

and y did they make it a 6 speed?

the car looks cool but not as cool as the old challenger

  • the old hemi was bigger and the 440 had less u idiot

  • whatever thats what they said so they could sell the cars without really high insurance

    "u idiot"

so what if the old hemi is bigger

the old 440 had a little more hp about 5hp

  • wrong, 440 is larger than 426 and the 440 would outrun a hemi given matched highway gears

  • But then a 383 wedge can outrun a 440

  • It's a 392 6.1 liter v8 hemi...

  • is gota HMEI!!!!!!!

    muscle car rulesssssss

  • Man, the muscle is BACK! ^^ These new cars are amazing dude! i hope they do a new version of the Pontiac Fierbird...

  • It's not a challenger anymore, it's a fat soapbox.

  • nOT AS COOL AS AN ORIGINAL, SORRY

  • sorry no offense the car looks like shit, like an old brick nothing to compare to the mustang and of course the new camaro

  • It's okay that "brick" is going to chew up a lot of mustangs and camaros next year. Count on it!

  • No offense taken. By the way your new Camaro looks like something japanese and - worst of all - it's still a Chevrolet.

  • Man this thing bettter come to Aus, Im so tierd of seeing 4 door 'performance' sedans. cough.

    This thing is fucken tough

  • Quit complaining you already have the Holden Monaro

  • Is that guy kidding? The 78-80 Challengers SUCKED. I hope they don't mess this one up like the Mustang and the Camero.

  • this ugly thing is just a replica of a dinosour. no creativity whatsover. who is going to take this thing seriously except for older farts still stuck in the 70s?

  • Dinosaur ? You obviously drive a 1999 Geo Metro. I will and I do take the New Challenger, Mustang, and Camaro Very seriously and I'm only 25. Have you even rode in a new Mustang ? You can't handle that car and it's got traction control. Whats wrong with the 70's ?

  • finally AMERICAN MUSCLE IS BACK ........i think that's what all muscle car fans wanted.......THE BEAST AKA: CAMARO...AND THE....CHALLENGER......MUSTANG.......AND MAYBE A 4 DOOR CHARGER :p

  • Wonder how much the got paid for this, that thing is FUGLY lol

  • i am from bulgaria and would buy a mean car like that UHAHAHA

only that we have 25 EUR per Horsepower TAX + 20% VAT

so it would cost 60 000+ EUR here :-(

  • Now that you are part of the EU, you will see that change. May take a couple of years though, but then you have time to save some money... :)

  • The sheriff at 2:58...that who Buford T Justice in Smokey and the bandit was modeled after

  • Kick ass, things getting built. Well see it next year.

  • NOTE:.... This car is NOT the cool looking car they first started with.... Like the Chevy SSR... They keep messing with it and it now does not look as cool as when they first showed it to us.... Looks less like a chalanger every time they fuck with it!

  • the original will alawys look better, but i think they did a pretty good job on trying to keep it looking o.g. i drive a 71 dodge dart swinger maybe they'll bring that back!!!! i think this is a great move on chrysler's part.

  • this car is gonna be so sweet!! i already own a 1970 T/A Challenger and plan on getting this as well as to have the best of both worlds!! Cant wait!

  • for all you people saying that its not going to be made, dodge already confirmed its release date of Feb 6, 2008

  • I'd take both, the challenger and the camaro! I'm sure they'd both f*** my need 4 speed'n'accelleration! ;)

  • I'm dying for this awesome American proud built U.S.A.muscle car,hey guys,BUY AMERICAN!!!...IF YOU BUY AMERICAN CARS YOU HELP OUR ECONOMY,GIVE A NEW CHANCE FOR DODGE!!!...

  • they'll never build it!! the company is taking another shit!!

  • I want one so bad!!!!

  • I'll take 1 in plum crazy purple, please..

  • this car is beautiful i cant wait till it comes out in '08. Much much better looking than the camaro. Speaking of a new muscle car era, it's a shame GM killed the gto, even thought its styling left something to be desired.

  • The GTO will come back eventually, like we have already seen they bring back old classics

  • it still has the hemi....fuck yea

  • I'd put a deposit down NOW.. on a panther pink convertible with black stripe! :)

  • 11.00 am Feb 6, 2008 it's happening alright

  • The car is beautifull but it looks a little fat. Seems like cars nowadays are getting too heavy. With the socialist in power in congress i bet there is going to be a repeat of how government kills the American manufactering like they did in the seventies by getting involved in regulations and such.

  • if only they'd have gone this route with the Dodge Charger... wouldn't a neo-modern `68 Charger looked fantastic ?? instead of that 4 DOOR thing they brought out ?? It really should have been called a Coronet or a Fury/Grand Fury.. Polara ??

  • im almost posative there not gonna make this a production car... something about a law, having to make more fuel efficient cars, but if it did come out.. wow... it would give hell to the 2009 camaro thats comin out...

  • Should be a hit with muscle car fans. But, given Chrysler's current problems, I think it's going to be a concept and not much more.

  • I think it would be a big hit especially w/ the baby boomers kids!!!

  • Now what would be awesome is with all these guys comming out with all these retro cars why not make some of the really older cars like say a 32' Ford or a 57'Chevy

  • have you seen a PT Cruiser, HHR or an SSR lately ??

  • Actually I like both the camaro and challenger concepts. I'm just glad that these companies are trying to bring back some muscle and power. I want to be able to strap myself into an angry american machine hot off the line.

  • they got lazy in trying to make a new car and just remade this car, which is too similar and believe that the new camaro concept took the better move in trying to make it modern

  • you must be one of them pro gm dumbasses huah5

  • nah, if the challenger took the better move, then i would've went with the challenger. You can only take so much from an old car to make a new one and i think they took too much with the challenger. it's too much like the old one in my opinion. they did succeed in making a retro car i guess... it's muscle, but not modern muscle

  • You must be kidding me. That shit is gross! what makes it so cool is the fact that it's more like the original and not the same as all the other cars I've seen in the last 30 some odd years.

If Kowalski was driving an '09 Challenger in Vanishing Point, he probably would have shot right through that last roadblock, through the stratosphere and into space without a scratch. Byah!

  • why didnt Dodge decide to use this format for the Charger instead of giving the charger an extra 2 doors?

  • cause dodge needed a car that would sell to the masses, not a certain age group, and they needed it fast.

  • You think that looks like a charger?

  • if you only look at it long enough

  • The design is cool, because this car don't look like a Ferrari, but simpel muscle... clean lines. I LOVE it!!! Less is sometimes more... Who want's a Challenger that look like a european, or japanese car??? The new Camaro look like a sportscar from Japan, or Suuthkorea... What a joke!!! Great job DODGE!!!

  • nothing about this car impresses me. its got boring styling. hopefully the production model will look better. and when he comments on the Mitsu Challenger, i think he was JOKING cause its the only "challenger" that would have NEVER been considered a REAL challenger. Mustang, Challenger, or Camaro....

    ill take a Camaro.

  • the new camaro looks nothing like the retro camaro. the challenger looks much more muscle car-like.

  • I don't think they sketched this car out first. I think they just said "here we took this picture in 1970, build the car", and gave it to the engineers.

  • i hope your not complaining about that....

  • -The fat guy in the movie said that he loved more the 78-80 challenger, what a stupid comment!

-The 78 challenger was a 4 cilinder mitsubishi piece-of-shit,i had one and it was a piece of crap!

  • hahaha your right!

  • looks too much like a replica of an old dinosaur. they could have made it a bit more modern looking, while keeping the retro style. but i guess this appeals to you old guys.

  • that's the idea...

  • nicee!

  • concept is a 6 speed, better stay that way... and i better win the lottery by then too hehe

  • I loved my 74' cant wait to get into a 2008/9.

  • perfect..

  • It will be built, it's for 2008-2009 and maybe it will have a V6 also. The Mustang'll be in trouble!

  • i have to agree about that...gives some comptetition to ford, and prolly will spawn another Musclecar era...i hope. :)

  • The pony wars era has already come back around. GM slightly one ups Dodge with the z06,Ford does the GT500, Dodge comes back with the beast of a machine the 600hp/560torq 08 viper. GM tries to one up Dodge again with the Blue Devil supercharged 6.2L pushing 600-650HP, Dodge hits back with the ACR Viper 675hp/650torq N/A 3000lbs. And coming in 2010 (supposedly) GMs supercharged 7.0L 700HP z07, and Dodges naturally aspirated 700+HP viper. Its a beautiful time thats for sure.

  • they souldnt build it.looks ugly as hell i love the 09 camaro

  • What? This thing looks great...

I just hope they don't f it up like the charger that lookedcool as concept but is pretty ugly now.

Although I'm not sure if those taillights would really make it intoa production car. (altough they are cool as hell)

  • WHAT?!?! Build the Firebird, to many Camaros around. And this puppy is HOT. I will buy the Challenger over the boring Camaro any day.

  • lol, I think this challenger looks way better than the concept camaro and actually looks closer to the old camaro than the concept camaro does

  • Oh PLEASE dont say the Challenger looks like a Camaro!!! I know the Firebird and Camaro where sisters, but the Fbird is a way better looking car, in all generations. As for this new Challenger, I have always loved the 1970 RT. I am gonna buy one, but it better have that sexy pistol grip shift!!!

  • You didn't read what I said. The concept challenger looks closer to the old camaro than the new camaro does. I hate the look of the new camaro. Dodge and Ford have more balls than Chevys halfassed attempt at the caramo, styling wise anyway.

  • SOrry dude. I want one of these bad boys so bad. In Plum Cray Purple, big old Hemi and HOPEFULLY a 6 speed. She is gonna be a sweet machine!!

  • I like the sound of that. prolly a 5 speed though, wich should be good enough, the mustangs have that.

  • come on pontiac, make a better version of the GTO that has some of the same bodylines as the judge. that would sell

  • BRING BACK THE FIREBIRD!

  • I agree, however I think it's cool you can get a little car like the GTO with a 6.0. The thing must be fun to drive.

  • I love Pontiacs, always have. But they are letting me down. No Firebird, and the GTO should LOOK like a GTO. Stacked headlights for starters....

  • and I agree, the old 60's GTO is the shit, I don't see them completely revamping the new gto, unless they do that and rebadge the currnet one. I still think little car+big more is awesome. But real GTO with bigger motor would rock! lol

  • Looks Bad but does it handle,?

  • first off camaro is the correct spelling. i am not a dodge fan but they fucking nailed it! i love the new challenger. chevy needs to wake up and follow the lead. remake the69 camaro , with the same demensions on the exterior and refine everything else! AS LONG AS IT IS REAR DRIVE PUSHROD V8!

  • Nah, i think i'll pass. I think that Dodge should just release a coupe version of the new Charger.

  • looks like a tuck that rearended a challenger... ugly... very ugly

  • Ill tell you guys... its cool but its big. REALLY big... its BIGGER that the 70's versioin... i think in today's modern compact society with parkin issues and traffic and stuff, a car that big and low is gonna have a little bit of a problem. Remember the impala remake that was build of the caprice classic body? the first year? i think this car may be a little too big.

  • Damn you using crash as a tag, thought i'd see some inbreed redneck's wreck their dumbestic

  • This is so hot that I'd be afraid to drive it! BUILD IT!!!

  • much nicer than the camero. this beast will end up in my garage

would love to see this in person

  • HOT HOT HOTTEST RIDE EVER!

  • BEST LOOKING CAR EVER

  • Never have liked the Challenger that much, but they have made it look nicer.

  • i want this car so much it hurts

  • Chrysler is going to build it! It should be in the showrooms for 2008

    Check Out http://www.challengertalk.com/

  • short and simple . BUILD IT NOW!!!!!

  • This is the best looking design to come out of "Detroit" in a long, LONG time. I am definately buying one as soon as they are released.

I want to know when the T/A version is coming. It needs side exhaust and a Go Wing badly. The pistolgrip shifter and Tic-Toc-Tach has survived thankfully. Excellent vehicle. I can't wait to have one.

  • (continued from above) I like the Challenger most of all because the Camaro is a bit too cluttered but I do like the Mustang (though I think the rear is a bit chunky). I can't see anything wrong with the original Challenger's front overhang, but I can see what the guy meant about the dodgy rear reflectors. If I become loaded in a few years I will def buy one, unless a new Trans Am comes out.

  • About the rear overhang, I also can't see why, in 1970, Dodge couldn't have built the Challenger without the overhang. The 'Cuda was Plymouth's equivalent - they shared the same platform, yet the 'Cuda had a smaller nose and trunk - similar to this concept - more so than the old Challenger. Perhaps this is the intentional difference between the 'Cuda and Challenger.

  • Wow didn't really like it after seeing it in photos but damn it looks cool in that video 2nd fave to the new Camaro.

  • Well Dodge says they'll build it, but I'd imagine it won't look like the concept at all. The retro look doesn't really stand up to time though. When was the last time someone was bragging about buying a New Beatle, or an '03 T-Bird?

  • nuff said, i cnat stand either one of those "vehicles"

  • The New Beetle is just dumb (I was a huge fan of the old one) and the T-Bird is for 50+ yr olds. A part of me feels sad about how companies can't use their imagination to build cars anymore but I love the Challenger, Camaro and Mustang concepts.

  • God that cars beautiful.....

  • yep.. when i see these retro type concepts.. like this challenger, the camaro, the new mustang.. i think, why in the hell didn't they evolve into this during the early 70s?.. i don't have to remind anyone what the mustang turned into in the late 70s. i dunno, i guess the inviroment, gas shortages, emissions, etc had alot to do with it. Atleast there finally gettign it right though!!

  • the mid 70's ruined allot of cars

  • i want

  • looks sweet, and I don't usually favor american cars. I would definately buy this car as a hobby car. I would love to have one of these 8 cylinders.

  • I will buy!
