  • Louisiana Le Roux Rocks, I was listening to them before many of these whiney kids were even a waisted shot running down the wall. hahaha ;))

  • Back in the day when real rock musicians played real rock music!

I miss the late 70's and early 80's!!

  • I adore this song ! awesome times !!

  • Killer song, these guys should have been much bigger than they were, I can picture Foreigner doing this song.

  • i feel leroux didnt need the business machine. but life happens. jeff pollard is rock and roll and more. id love to get a leroux concert, sigh

  • I haven't the slightest idea who LA roux even is... I like being out of it!!

  • for those not out of touch!

  • It was GOOD & FUN... take me back to the way it was

  • bass player looks like fat guy from pornos...

  • Why is that the La Roux fans have taken over this thread? These are the same spoiled brats who listen to Bieber, Lady CaCa & their ilk. Where the f*** are all the fans of Louisiana's Le Roux? The inmates are running the asylum here. We need to take back what's rightfully ours. To hell w/these snot nosed kids!!!

  • @bucky468 I was glad to see some like minded appreciation for real fun... music was the drug then, now it's spoiled... like you said!

  • @mythtree These La Roux loving brats or punks need to go a La Roux thread & GTFOOH. They should just leave us real music fans & Louisiana's Le Roux in general alone.

  • I used to watch this group back in the late 70's when I was in college down in Louisiana. They were called The Jeff Pollard Group back then. Every 2 weeks in a local bar. They were the greatest to watch in a bar. The best of times back then.

  • I was "addicted" to MTV in their first year of operation - And they used to play this multiple times a day, every friggin day - I'm so jacked to see this, thank you for posting! ROCK! What a great song!

  • Loved this song back in the early 80s...didn't get much airplay here unfortunately. The band didn't do that well nationally. I bet NOW they'd do great ... since most of these guys were GAY! They hid in the closet back then....now they can flaunt it and be big stars. What's up with that? Rap star kills a guy...makes even more money. Wazzupwidat?

  • Bass player sure looks like Ron Jeremy

  • I love this song. It was one of my favorites in the 80's. That and Garland Jefferies R O C K Rock.

  • Not too many people had Floyd Rose assemblies on Les Pauls back then.

  • I was never into this band, but this is form the days when musicians actually had to be able to play instruments.

  • God I haven't heard this song in years!! I've forgotten how good it sounded!

  • fucken idiots

little shitty teenyboppers coming on here thinking its some trendy ugly faced pop bitch

  • @tarkan525201 Excellent comment dude! This LeRoux kicks that LA Roux's ass by a trillion miles!

  • @tarkan525201 Try not to let it bother you. In my opinion, the people who were born post '80s are jealous 'cause THEIR music will be FORGOTTEN and NOT REMEMBERED.

  • LeRoux's "Addicted" awesome song by an awesome band. 1982 what an awesome year. this rocks!!!! thanx 4 dah post. LeRoux Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @journeylive 1982 is my favorite year in rock, always wondered who did this song back then and then just clicked to it now by accident.

  • @CameronShaft I love this song. I never knew the name of the band til recently and it took me 10 years to find the song. I knew some of the words so I found it.

  • Louisiana's LeRoux-My Dad saw these guy's warm up for Kenny Loggins 1978 Chrysler Hall; he said "They are a Tuff Act to follow" .

  • Those idiots who actually think "La Roux" is more talented than "Le Roux" obviously know nothing about songwriting...like everything else since the 80's, today, it's all about image over substance...don't get me wrong, the 80's had its "image" bands, but the songwriting, performance and melody were always there...the crap that's on the radio these days makes me ashamed to turn the damned contraption on! I hate to sound like a dad (though I am one), but "you kids and your wacky music, these days"

  • Louisiana's LeRoux was making great music when the johnny-come-lately LaRoux was a gleam in their daddy's eye. So don't tell me that LeRoux (French syntax correct - "Roux" would be masculine) "stole" LaRoux's name.

I like all music, some more than others, but certainly lean toward traditional rock than techno (which, like rap, seems, at times, to be a bit redundant).

Roux: a necessary component of French-Cajun cooking, ergo, the Louisiana band's name makes sense.

  • Aww i thought this was la roux...

    cool song though

  • haha so did i! :|

  • ahhaha I bet they got their views doubled since La Roux made it big :p

  • i feel like an idiot now i thought it was la roux not my pick of song thoguh :S

  • THis video was in heavy rotation on MTV for a long time. It's easy to see why: it's a catchy song with a dynamite hook (no pun intended [addicted]). "Last Safe Place" was a really good album. I wonder what ever happened to those guys.

  • WTF? What happened to her hair?!

  • Looooooooool

    i though..

  • They are LE Roux. LOL

  • hh x)

  • Oh :S I was on La Roux videos....

    But this is interesting..... =)

  • oh ok, little lesson for me there.. dont get leroux and la roux mixed up.

  • same here. ha ha

  • Shiiit.. I too am in the wrong place. I'll get me coat...

  • Thats Rod Hull isnt it??

  • Curses, and he´s taken Emu to Michael Jackson´s doctor !!!!

  • I, much the same as everyone else who has watched this video was expecting La Roux. :P

    My bad!

  • lol me too

  • SonAmyGuy. I couldn't agree with you more. The 90's were not better with that grunge crap. Music died after the 80's. Long Live Rock!!

  • I definitely agree with you that rock music died after the grunge wave, I've always considered the 1980s to be the last great decade of music, I did like some of the pop music from the early-mid 1990s but not the rock music

  • I was expecting la roux. however this is is a lot better cuz i find her songs to be extremely annoying. I was only checking out the chart songs to see how much crap people are in to, and to be honest pretty much everything in the charts sucks and has done since rock was replaced by pop

  • Le Roux

    La Roux

    LOL. weird.

  • this is not la roux

  • lol I thought this was La roux

  • i fort this was la roux. bummer. lmao

  • same here lmaoo

  • I thought the person that put this up spelt it wrong but its a differant band!! ha

  • same here lol

  • @10KJL : "fort"!?!? Nice spelling...

  • lol omg lol wat a dik.. thought this was La roux too... damn.

  • Comment removed

  • what the fuck is this shit??? i thought it was la roux.... let down haha

  • LOL...snap!

  • gutted... I was exceited, thinking it was a new song.. but no.... its a crusty old 80s band x)

  • @samsontheemo Crusty old 80s band indeed (nothing wrong w/that considering the fact that today's music is 100% pure crap) - and might I add this LeRoux has no desire to stop anytime soon so deal with it!! Classic rock forever!!!!

  • damn you leroux with your similar name to la roux!!!

    DAMN YOOOOU!!!!

  • OTHER WAY AROUND! And btw la roux is shit...

  • La Roux is a fucking goddess!!!

This naff old band is pretty weak in comparison. TBH!

  • @douchebot3000 You should change your name to douchebag3000 for making an asinine remark. BTW your La Roux is pure bullshit in contrast to these cajun rockers. Long live Louisiana's Le Roux & the other La Roux sucks donkey balls!!

  • @douchebot3000 Don't make me laugh when you say La Roux is a goddess. Only a dumbass is gonna say such a retarded thing like La Roux is a goddess. You don't know what real music is so shut your flippin piehole. You probably like Lady CaCa & Bieber too. Your music sucks...bottom line!!

  • @nickter Thank you! La Roux sucks!!! Louisiana's Le Roux is awesome!!!!

  • I also thought the same as you .. tha one below meh lol

  • I thought this was going to be a new LA Roux song...LOL the deception.

  • @rickwarriorbard

DECEPTION = not fun. ORIGINal = fun; NO deception!

    I'm down with that.

Song sung by le Roux, everybody feels good!

    songs sung blue, everybody chooses...

U & me, when we scream & cry about choice:

remember what's misunderstood and kindly use your voice :)

  • Why didn't these guys make it huge, these guys almost remind me of the group Foreigner

  • I've discovered these guys on VH1 Classic back in around 2002 and this song totally blew me away, I wish VH1 Classic would be as great now like it was in the early 2000s

  • OMG LeRoux ...."The droopy bollocks years" LOL....

The real La Roux (aka 2009) kicks the shit out of this lame tripe.....

  • @blackflower75 Real La Roux lol? Don't make me flippin' laugh!! This Le Roux's been around since 1977...way before YOUR La Roux was even conceived by her parents. So if you don't like this song then GTFO & take all your fellow La Roux/Bieber/Lady CaCa/Britney/Katy Perry/St!nk/Beyonce/Avril Lavigne/Kanye/Jonas Bros/Jordin Sparks/Rihanna/Black Eyed Fleas/Demi Levato/Leona Lewis/Tinie Tempah/Lil Wayne/T-Pain/Flo Rida/Jay Z/OutKast/Justin Timberlake/Kelly Clarkson/Usher/Ke$ha posers w/you. Ta Ta!!!

  • I bet a million ppl went on this thinking this was LA roux

  • Make the bet then....I'd be glad to take your money...

  • wtf this isnt la roux

  • I literally have not seen this video since i was 11 or 12 years old!!!! this is so awesome! when i was first learning to play the guitar i learned the chord progression to this song and i was so thrilled. =)

  • thank you! thank you! thank you! wow this song takes me back! I LOVE IT!

  • Makes me feel 10 years old again seeing this. It's one of those songs still in my head though I hadn't heard it in 25 years. Great post!

  • Awesome.. This Video Is One of Many MTV Icon Relics. WOW. I Sure Miss Those Days.

When MTV First Hit Cable, We All Had No Clue What The Heck MTV Was All About... That Was '1981

  • We thought he was saying, I'm a dickhead baby.

  • hahaah

  • Yeah MTV was IT back in those days. Crank up MTV "in stereo!" LOL when you get home from work and leave it there all night, have an apartment full of people every night listening to good AND weird stuff. THAT was when it was MTV. Now it's just mtv.

  • In 1986, the USO billed Leroux and other acts as The First Airborne Rock and Roll Division. I still fondly remember their show from Challenger Field, Clark AB, the Philippines. I was "addicted" and later caught them live when I return to the States. I enjoyed their work and am glad to find it on You Tube.

  • I agree, this song is GOOD!

  • I am so glad this was posted. I haven't heard this song in 25 years. I finally found it!!! I loved this song when I was a kid. There is no reason why this song should not be played on classic rock stations across the country. Thanks for posting!!

  • ever have a song you remember but cant remember the artist >??this was IT FOR ME!

ive been thinkin about that song since mtv was a music channel.i really couldnt remember that video but the song was cool. if you have this problem just google some of the lyric and they will point it out .and of course good ole youtube has it!!!ROCK ON

  • I saw LeRoux in concert at Louisiana Tech University in the 80's. They were awesome in concert. Good stuff!!

  • Be honest

If u really like someone right now,

or miss them right at this moment,

or can't get them out of your head,

Then copy and paste this on 10 vids within 5 minutes,

    And whoever you are missing,

    Will surprise you tomorow

  • haha or not coz u just used the term 'awesomeness'

  • I can't find the title track, it's such a great song, but I can't find the cd anywhere.

  • 27 years later and it still sounds great!

Stands the test of time well.

  • I remember this song when MTV was new....I have it on my iPod...

  • Does anyone remember a song called "You Know How Those Boys Are" or somthing close to that? Was it by Le Roux?

  • yes. "You know how those boys are" was on the LeRoux "UP" album with "Mystery" and "Let Me be your fantasy"

  • Thanks for the info. Thought it sounded like LeRoux. Been a long time since I heard it.

  • Actually, I just check My old lps.... It's not on "UP" It's on "Last Safe Place" with addicted and Nobody said it was easy.

  • Great song!!! Haven't heard this in years. Note to rockers: At least plug your guitar into SOMETHING when filming a video.

  • Great Band, great songs, that's the best style to sing the best stuff!

  • Jeff Pollard, what a great voice!!

  • ...remember buying this lp on the strength of this tune-great song...

  • Quite weird that at the beginning, there are *two* title/artist blocks: one using the MTV font, the the other using the VH1 font. Even worse, at the end, they both appear overlapping!

  • I love this song but I don't like how the song ended early without any fades, great song though.

  • I still have my albums and this was my fave one... Last safe place post it please????

  • LAST SAFE PLACE ON EARTH was a great song too....they were ahead of their time (during the hair metal daze)....y...

  • Great song!! It came out in 1982 off of "Last Safe Place" and that is a darn good album!!! Songs like this need to be played on the radio like the good ole days.

  • The bass player used to trip out my brothers and I because if you take away that curly mane..he looks EXACTLY like my dad!!!!

  • let me be your fantasy was a great song too...ty for posting

  • I have all the LeRoux albums on CD. Up is my favorite, with Get It Right The First Time and Roll Away The Stone - and no dead songs! Wish I could put them all up now.

  • Do you have "Get It Right The First Time"? I think it sounds like a mix of Foreigner and Bad Company.

  • That's Gamma - I have it

Send me a request with your Email

  • Le Roux also has a song called "Get It Right The First Time". I even heard it on an internet radio station.

  • CAN YOU POST IT?

  • I thought this album came out in 1981 or 1982, great obscure song

  • You're right. Thanks.

  • I remember seeing this video on MTV quite a bit in 1982.
