  • The Edge does not belong in that room man

  • @SoAPyiLLuSiONn666 no he does

  • @SoAPyiLLuSiONn666 And that non-playing halloween clown Jack White does? That's a laugh. At least Edge has his own style of playing & doesn't copy a thousand blues players that came before. U2 was Robert Plant's favorite band all through the 80s. Plant predicted way back when that they would be a huge act & he was right.

  • @SoAPyiLLuSiONn666 YEah, i like his stuff - but it doesnt give me goosebumps like Jimmy n Jack...iI'm thinkin' ` `who shoulda been that third man??~

  • I love Jimmy. So much.

  • UNDERAGE FOR JIMMY PAGE!

  • Jack and Edge look like a couple school boys meeting their idol.

  • THUMBS UP if u agree that jack white is memorizing " whole lotta love" riff lol

  • did u c the way the edge and jack were looking at him when he was playing (i think it was the riff from the ocean)... the edge and jack and white may be amazing, but jimmy is fucking amazing... and not 2 mention legendary

  • Jimmy makes the movie, wouldn't of seen it without him in it. Such a lovely, classy sexy man...not to mention the best guitarist ever.

  • jimmy i fucking love you ur hot <3

  • dude is he in shape??? I imagined him being stiff and behaving "old", but he seems very active when he was playing and everything, pretty fucking cool

  • Anyone know what the second song Jimmy Page plays on record is? I know the first is "Rumble" by Link Wray. I can't find the second.

  • i must see page live before i die..or he does....

  • Jimmy page grew up an englishman and became a sensei... what is that about???

  • Page is still soooo hot!!!!

  • How about a rock guitar academy with Jimmy Page as headmaster, Brian May as vice, Mark Knopfler, Jeff Beck, Tony Iommi, Eric Clapton... as professors? Gonna be much more epic than Hogwarts :)))

  • @TheFree2fry hahaha that would be amazing!

  • @TheFree2fry as much as I love harry potter, I have to agree, but, you forgot Steve Vai & Paul Gilbert. j.s :)

  • @MrBac755: alright, I can't mention all of them in one post, hence the "..." ;)

  • @TheFree2fry hell yeah. i'd enroll

  • i wish jimmy page was my grandfather

  • Nice to see a rock star aging naturally and gracefully. Unlike Gene Simmons who refuses to give up that ugly black hair. lol

  • who else thought the part where jimmy air guitars to rumble was the best in the whole film

  • @NintendoSinceBirth1 I agree. That and him rocking the shit outa Ramble On.

  • I founf myself leaning in towards my screen, just to hear it the way he was describing it.

  • @NintendoSinceBirth1---- i have watched that bit 999 times!! You are so right....it's the look on his face and the beautiful irony that THE Jimmy Page air guitars to someone else!!!!!

  • I feel like Jack(master of music/moon king) still does stuff like a lil kid he look so excited in their presence

  • @JackKulaTV1 Yeah, I wish I lived in the 70's. :(

  • @VibrantCompromise

Me too!!! How great would it be to grow up with Rock and Roll at its best :)

  • look at their faces when he plays the wholte lotta love riff at "59" seconds... priceless

  • its a shame tht all led zeppelin fans of the present didnt live in the 70s

  • They are intimidated I would imagine. I know I would b and practice playing Zeppelin and Jimmy's scales everyday. He is a lead player and they are all rhythm, but that's fine because if you can get good sound out of a guitar, you are a musician.

  • Jimmy Page one of my Favorite Player's with two of the worst players of all time. What a Mixup, Jimmy you're better than that.

  • @MrHideyoursheep You're lame.

  • JIMMY PAGE exudes Coolness!!!!

  • link wray rumble

  • Yes but what if they got Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page for a sequel to this? DAMN!!!

  • @Sold07 I say Eddie Van Halen, Jimmy Page, and Eric Clapton

  • I love Page, look at that dude. You can't get cooler then that with white hair. Maybe if he was wearin his dragon pants.

  • Make a fucking sequel with 3 more guys. I vote Pete Townshend for 'It Might Get Loudererer'.

  • @polishgrl87: It's a Brit term of endearment, like dear or sweetie...sorta thrilling coming from him! ;)

  • Luv how Jimmy laughs after the allimony comment....I take it that he is paying allimony to an ex-wife or two....What woman in their right mind would leave this sexy looking man, even at his age now....He's got that smile and eyes that just melt you....I could think of better guitar players to put into a room with Jimmy besides these two...

  • it's 2011 & where is Mr. Page's music?

  • what's the name of the song at 1:43?

  • @KhemiKool its a tune called "Green Onions" by Booker T and the MG's.

  • @KhemiKool scratch that...its not green onions. my

    mistake.

  • @KhemiKool It's the instrumental Rumble, by Link Wray. It was influential for Jimmy and others. While only an instrumental it was still banned for fear that it would cause juvenile deliquency.

  • Comment removed

  • 1:33 you can see a record on the second shelf (in Jimmy's home), it's Led Zep II

    Am I right?

    haha...

  • @kingalow1

    no

  • @kingalow1 It's a Led Zeppelin bootleg called The Can. You can find it in an image search. I see someone is selling one for $2,000.

  • Jimmy Page is unmatched !! the greatest

  • I would never ask you for Alimony Jimmy <3

  • the "edge" and jack white have no business being in the same room as jimmy page

  • @blebo55557

yes they do. the point of the film was to take 3 distinct guitar players from different generations and put them together. mission accomplished. that said, U2 is my favorite band of all time but Zeppelin and Page are a very close second. And Page did influence more guitarists but that's also because he took the blues scale that was already well established in rock and took it to another level. The Edge did his own thing.

  • @blebo55557 both of them are awesome musicians

  • trying to get my bro to pull most popular songs from vynal's i grew up with, so far no luck me zep/aero/morrison/stones/acdc/cooper/rogers/ and on and on, my own....lol, so, i just close my eyes and there you are jimmy, robert, hendrix, morrison...john...lovely just all of you are in love, quite right ....quarter....horse

  • If Page aint God im converting

  • I think more than anything, the childlike wonder that still resides in Page is what amazes me the most. The fact that he's a master of his craft at the highest level, and is still loves it as much now as the first time he laid hands on a guitar is beautiful. There are 20 or 30 names you could line up on a dartboard to throw out as the top guitarist of all time, but I'll take Page any day of the week.

  • @bullmilk and any guitarist who may have have 'superior chops" to Page's will only wish they could write songs like Jimmy

  • @Cincinnatus1869 Exactly. He's always been so much more than a guitarist. It was clear even from his Yardbirds days that he had the raw talent and creativity to be a guitar wizard, but what has always distinguished him from other guitarists who regularly make those "Greatest Guitarists" lists is that he can write great music that covers a wide range of emotions and musical styles. His sense of melody, composition, and dynamics is amazing. On top of that, he produced all those albums.

  • @bullmilk I totally agree with you. The man is one of the greatest guitarists of all time and a living legend who has influenced guitarists for 40+ years, yet he still has an unabashed passion for music and is like a kid in a candy shop when he's going through his record collection and playing those old records. It's touching to see that he still loves the music that inspired him to play in the first place, much in the same way that we still love his music.

  • look at jack at 1:08 haha happiest little kid i have ever seen

  • I wanna hear jimmy page sing!

  • @SmashingPumpkinsTV /watch?v=cGNbRpmkT4g

you can also hear his backing vocals at the chorus of "thank you"

  • Jack White must've been nervous as all get out. He's a huge Led-Head. I think Jack deserved to be there. He's been working his butt off for the last ten years trying to save this generation's music. But... Edge? Seriously? That so-called guitarist doesn't deserve to be in the same building as Page.

  • @TheAerochick13 In all respect I disagree, the Edge is a terrific guitarist, I agree Jimmy has dominion over all, I draw a lot influence from him; is still gifted, when he gets a sound in his head, he does a damn find job getting it out. So please do not criticize someones style, it pisses me off. :(

  • @IllegalFunWithWasps Yes, he's a good sound engineer, but that's not necessarily being a guitarist. He could give Roy Thomas Baker a run for his money... but Roy Thomas Baker wasn't a guitarist, he was a sound engineer. I just don't think Edge was suited for this sort of thing. Page and White are more on the raw and genuine skill side, whilst he is on the technology induced playing side.

  • only jimmy page can wear that scarf and be a real man

  • That must have been too cool to be 3' in front of Jimmy, and him playing " Whole Lotta Love". Lucky !!!!!

  • I love how out of all the three jack white is the one with the most outrageosuly outdated clothes

  • man! that looked like a cool day with those cats! must be nice....

  • He's so old and snowy-haired now, it actually makes him look adorable x] But that doesn't detract from his rock godliness <3

  • in my previous comment, clearly, i was playing lip serice to edge as he is a few tiers below page. but at least he knows where he stands. Jack White looks cocky.

  • While Jack White has talent, he is NOWHERE NEAR THE CALIBER OF PAGE AND EDGE. It is a poorly formed trio and it is a shame they couldn't find someone of their level to participate.

  • @nopainogain Listen to him playing a solo during Blue Veins or Floating. They are unbelievable.

  • Jimmy is so cool at first i was a bit bothered by his white hair, but i am beginning to like it, its just another phase of Jimmy Page.. He does seem like such an easy going laid back dude for such an accomplished living legend.. i would to jam w/ him he would get a laughout of all the strange ways i try and play his tunes..

  • My Hero !

  • Three children.I love that!!

  • Great video...I'm curious at 1:24 Jimmy selects a 45 and you can hear it play in the background through 1:52 (sounds like the interviewer say Lin Grayon) I thought I heard this song in a Quintin Tarantino film (pulp fiction/kill bill) anyone know who the artist or name of the song is? thanks and keep rockin...

  • @kona2k7 never mind...link wray - rumble.

  • @kona2k7 The Interviewer said 'Link Wray' and the song was Rumble and yes, it was in Pulp Fiction.

  • @kona2k7 Thats "Rumble" by Link Wray.

One of the first (if not THE first) distorted guitar sounds. Supposedly from a pencil jammed through a speaker.

  • I hate braggers like Gene Simmons. If somene's a real deal like Page, he doesn't have to say a word, cause evetryone knows he's THE shit.

  • What a gent. Jimmy wanted to break the ice with Whole Lotta Love. Gawwdbluss him

  • jimmy page is the besat guitarist (in my opinion) and if my dad ever won the lottery i would BEG him to get jimmy over to my house just so i could LOOK at him and just admire his features i would pay him 1 million dollars or MORE! he is and will always be BY FAR the best thing thats ever happened to this UNIVERSE!!!

  • "yeah, quite clearly it wasn't not never gonna be as easy as that ."

  • what is the name of the single page was playing "london" was written on top of it bur i can´t find anything trough the i-net

  • jimmy comes across as a real nice man.

  • Jimmy Page could come to my house and play that riff to ME! If only.............

  • @fiarena I would definitely crap myself, for sure !

  • Jack White, major name in guitar playing? Producers should've picked EVH, Blackmore, Yngwie, Schenker, Gary & Vinny Moore, Gilmour, Brian May, George Lynch, Satch, Vai, Beck, Steve Howe, Morse, Gilbert, Friedman, Huff, Meniketti, Wylde, etc etc etc!

  • @Broughmo Agree!!! But maybe the producers choose Jack because his younger and has had some top charts albums over the past few years... but well! lol! I would have picked Frusciante from the RHCP

  • Page looks like an elderly Japanese grandmother.

  • @sturmraist50 and could still pull more ass than you can . go figure

  • @Tecumseh1812 Anything that weak little man can do, I can do better.

  • @sturmraist50 you just want attention .No one cares enough to argue with you ,fuckstick .

  • @Tecumseh1812 No one except you, buccaneer...

  • @sturmraist50 me , and your sister

  • @Tecumseh1812 Resorting to insult means I have won our verbal battle. Stay away from the Battle of the Thames, sir Shawnee.

  • @sturmraist50 mine are the balls of a rhinoceros

  • I don´t want allamony, just want YOU.

  • I don´t want allamony, just want YOU.

  • Jimmy Page and David Gilmour should get together and jam. Now that would be cool

Pages Exotic eastern acoustics with Gilmours Ethereal textures.

  • Having worked with Jimmy for several weeks on tour with The Who and The Black Crowes....I have to say he was really delightful and a sweetie and I was honored to tour with he who, in my opinion, is a huge icon....and he called me 'ducks'....xo

  • @Cin2215 Why'd he call you that?

  • The interaction is incredibly sweet and emotional. Two little boys watching their idol with pure love in their eyes, like they won the lottery.

  • To see the one and only Jimmy Page playing "air guitar" to Link Wray was classic! He still has the enthusiasm of a kid. In a world that's moving much too fast, this film honors one of the greats.

  • somebody please tell me what the song is playing in the back at 1:28, i used to play it all the time but i forgot about it.

  • @parjelly Rumble.

  • @parjelly do you mean Link Wray - Rumble?

  • sexy

  • Jimmy, baby, you are STILL one sexy bastard!

  • jimmy page is the only one who matters!!

  • IN MY TIME OF DYING!!

  • yes i DO agree, trueNECH.. one thing is to make a documentory about history of the guitars which sure has to include different generations, but being in one film along with JAMES PATRICK F...G PAGE is hell of another.... I mean the other 2 could die tomorow, they already did their best...

so did Jimmy, but theres a slight difference: one just cant get enough of him!!!!

  • Hey Jimmy. will be waiting for your new music. I can taste it, and it's good. thanks for everthing you have given us. It has been pofound.

  • It's bloody funny watching Edge and White just break those big "you are god" smiles when Jimmy starts strumming the riff of Whole Lotta Love" at about 58 seconds into this video. You can just tell that they both know that they're lucky to be in the same film with Jimmy and are wondering how the bloody hell it ever happened.

  • thats exactly what I said when I saw the film

  • @trueNECH yes, me and my dad agreed that they are all respectable guitarists but if jimmy got angry then he would have blown them out of the studio with his rawk

  • @trueNECH So true! It shows how The Edge and Jack White are no different than you and me when in the presence of greatness!

  • @trueNECH Of coarse they were staring at a rock god. But the premise of the film was simply

"Three generations of Rock and Roll." The film did accomplish what was intended. When I first "It Might Get Loud" I thought the same thing. "How did these guys get put in the same arena with Jimmy?" I went back and read the cover of the DVD jacket. Made sense then. All three are uniquely talented, but not equally talented.

  • @chest002 Good points but Trailer also says "3 Rock Legends." Perhaps 2 is more accurate. Was interesting, but purists & shredders probably would've prefered an alternate for White.

  • @trueNECH Jack White surely appeared to be impressed.

  • @trueNECH i love that!

  • @trueNECH To be Jack White while Jimmy plays Whole Loota Love right in front of you! I think I would have pissed myself. Can you imagine playing one of your riffs for Jimmy right after him? "Hey Jimmy, Whole Lotta Love was a pretty cool riff, but listen to mine! " lol Man, I love Jack, and I have to give him great props for having the strength to play a single note in front of Jimmy. What a test of a musician's esteem! This is the ultimate test really. I got shivers just watching Jimmy play.

  • @trueNECH 1:44 Jimmy gets the same smile with the first few bars of Rumble by Link Wray.

  • I LOVE HIM ... i love him so much! he's a truly idol, a magnificent guitarist and the idea of show him to the new generations it's such a joy for me

  • Manefest it.....intersesting choice of language.....its two years since the o2.....interesting numeroligy also...........
