The awesome thing is that if you look at the old medieval tapestries depicting unicorns they are far more goat-like than horse-like :) The original ones were smaller, with cloven hooves, curly coats, manes and shorter tails than horses. The "Horse" version was done in moden days because horses are seen as more noble and popular animals than goats, so it made the unicorn romanic and noble for media and modern stories.
