  • I love this kind of music, where can I get more????

  • Beautiful!

  • als,typen,je,moet,feeling,hebben

  • the reverb sounds amazing with those strings!

  • Great stuff. I am looking to buy into to your movie subscription thing.

Before I do I need a new guitar (i have an Epi dot now). Any suggestions on what to look for in an acoustic guitar for bossa nova. I have a preference for an acoustic electric w/ a cutaway but I am not tied to it. BTW, I go to Sao Paulo about 6 times per year so if its better to get something down there I would appreciate a heads up.

    Many thanks

  • @wye4379 ... I'd wait and see what you can get in Sao Paulo, myself. As for brand ... I'm out of the loop, I'm afraid. I don't really keep up on that stuff anymore, but there are countless good, affordable guitars out there these days. So long as it's got nylon strings, it'll be good for Bossa Nova.

  • @wye4379 wow if I am in Brazil I will definately get me a brizilian rosewood guitar and try to get them back here dont tell customs or they'll CONFISCATE your AXE.GOOD LUCK

  • @localguy8 Yeah particularly after the Gibson thing....

  • wow i can listen to your playing forever. bravo!!!

  • I can't find this lesson on your site. Where exactly is it?

  • @fingerstyleguy1 ... I put the direct link in the info panel above. It's a Master Lesson, costs a few bucks.

  • Sweet as honey ... balsam for my ears ... a kiss to my soul! GREAT! GREAT! GREAT! Thanks to you!

  • very smothh

  • you rule man nice work

  • OMG I love the guitar sooo much.

  • very nice, but definitely not bossa nova. your right hand rhythm is way off and your chord progression just sounds vaguely bossa-esque. see joao gilberto, especially to correct that right hand.

  • @letebaguere, nothing better than "correcting" someone else's original music and technique. Very amusing!

  • @sovietkotek It's not bragging. It all depends on your skill level. You probably have more of it. I've uploaded my own take on this song on YT, so have a look.

  • IS TOM BELLO SONIDO

  • is the best solo sound guitar is so nice

  • wonderful piece of music....

  • The part at 0:58 gets me every time. I'm learning this one just now - it's a great challenge, I've been looking for some advanced bossa nova tunes like this one. Too bad it's not longer...

  • I apply a lot of Bossa Nova chord voicings into my guitar playing. Its a style that suits well into many other styles,

  • so beautiful ,thank you

    bart

    netherlands

  • very soothing and relaxing .... very nice

  • seriously.... nice

  • Now how did I miss this. Great lesson.

    eddie

  • that was awesome! I made my own video on this song so please check it out and tell me what you think! Great playing, I'm looking forward for more of these videos. Cheers!

  • you should look for stan getz, maria rita, luciana souza, elis regina, joao gilberto, you can look for most of them just writing "bossa nova" in google, thats the name of the genre!

  • cant skip lubambo and jobim

  • What song is this.. ? Also, if I want to find more music like this, what artists should I look for?

  • fantastic!

What kind of classical are you playing? Steel Strings?

  • i think its nylon

  • Yes, it's a 1963 Gibson nylon string.

  • @planetalk where can i buy guitar strings as old as myself?

  • O.O guao man that'spure gold U.U, excellent i'm learning to play it XD jeje it's a litle hard :P, but now i already now the SUPERL OAF XD JO JO JO

    SEE YA...

  • non-Brazilian people will never get this feeling... xD

  • Ulala... I love this song. ^_^

  • I can´t find free tabs for this on your site.....?

  • How long do you have to practice to play this well?

  • I've been playing since 1961, violinlova, but you don't need to play that long to get good at it. Practice (play) as much and as often as you can is the best advice ... and love it.

  • A while. This guy plays well. Correct Principles for Guitar and Pumping Nylon should help you in your guitar mastery.

  • @violinlova I've learned it in less than 3 hours. Everything else - dynamics, feel and fluidity - takes more time, it took me a week or so to get it quite close to the video. I'm playing it on piano right now - sounds really great!

  • Is it possible to buy this tune as a lesson on a disc through the post.Ihave no visa.

  • The tab for this is at the site and it's free. Click the link in the info panel to the upper right.

  • Hi. This is a great video, and I love Bossa Nova.. But I can't get the technique on how to "pluck" the cords. Could you tell me how, or make a video of it? Thanks!

  • love the bossa... i'm a pianist and would love to play this... but cant work out the chord progression... could you send me the tabs please?

  • excelent!

  • done)))it's so great...same as the sugar loaf theme...gotta search & learn more...

  • this is so, so cool......damn=(the chord at the 5th and 7th second doesn't sound so melodic neither on my musima resonata, nor on other guitars that i've tried...what's the focus?=)

  • Make sure you're only plucking the middle four strings. The chord is a DMaj9, from bass to treble: X5465X

  • he doesn't move his guitar a milimeter!!!!!!!

  • That's because I anchor it down when I do lessons.

  • Does that anchoring cause you to inadvertently bend the strings as you play the chords? Or is the bending intentional?

  • The anchoring doesn't help!

  • this is so great!!

  • wuuuuuuuuuuuuaaaaaaaaaaaaa o yea ........very good

  • I recognise a Gmajor9, the chromatic raise, and the descent to Dmaj7-like the melodic bits in between, very 'Rio'

  • Beautiful composition!

  • Great piece ... thank you for sharing ... I will definitely work on this one ... : )

    Don ...
