Gorgeous girl and daughter! Thank you for showing us your journey. I did the same. I LOVE being natural. somebody remarked, "If I had your texture I would go natural". When the truth is any hair can! If it is coarser and may need more moisture, you may have to do a little more work, but isn't that worth it. I'm embracing what God has given me too!
I miss your videos. Hope you're doing fine....Love this video. I've watched it at least 10 x's....NO, a lot more :) I use it as a guideline in my journey. It's helped me alot. Thanks.
Awww, Tashira. I think this is the 2nd time I have watched this, after many months. I love vids like this b/c it allows us to see a little more insight about our youtube friend's lives. I like your hair best when it has lighter tips, like at 5:29-5:33
Ok girl this is by far my favorite natural hair journey video. I loved your hair straight but I love your beautiful curls even more. I was just like you, alwayssssss wore my hair long and straight and when I tried to wear it curly it was a mess lol, now I love my curls after all the transitioning from heat damage :) I gotta favorite this one!
I didn't even know this video existed because of the syndication for not allowing it to be played on my iPhone:( I loved this video!! Too pretty and your little one is a doll:)
you are amazingly georgeous and i love your comment about raising your daughter to embrace her natural hair! i will never ever allow my daughter to relax her hair!!
you're very pretty, for some reason you remind me of alicia keys. my hair is similar to yours but I've damaged it from dyes and what not, so I have about 3 inches of new growth and the rest is damaged, about how long did it take for your hair to fully transition natural. Also could you show your tats on the inside of your upperarms, what do they mean?
@jahmisha09 well i don't know what you mean by fully transition but i couldn't handle the two textures anymore after about 18 months of growing out the relaxer. I have a video called my tats that explains the meanings of some of my tattoos! :)
Your video is so inspirational. I hope my hair will do well soon. I have been natural for 6 years but damaged it all by using the flat iron too often. I have a long way to go to bring it back from there.
@TuyenTV I only did touch ups about every 4-6 months, and my mom mixed jojoba oil and a few other moisturizing additives to the relaxer before applying, I didn't apply heat to my hair alot, maybe flat iron once a month and i always wore buns, never out and down unless it was straight
Girl we have a similar hair journey i mean deployment hair to civilian hair lol i went crazy too i mean it went from red to blond in less then 7 months ! now i am natural for good no dye or relaxer :)
@KneedleThread nothing beyond the normal face wash, toner and moisturizer, my skin is very sensitive so i use Aloette, it works and so i never switch up
Omg!! You went thru so many transformations! It's inspirational to see that you experienced all those styles and still came back to ur "roots"! I love that ur teaching ur daughter to embrace her roots as well! The pics of you two are beautiful! And you are teaching her the best way, by doing! She'll grow up wanting to look & be like Mommy! Keep posting!
You have such a beautiful head of hair!! Every single color you chose fit your complexion perfectly. Loved it!!! When it's straight, you look just like Tamia!)
You and your daughter are absolutely beautiful. Both of you have lovely hair and it's so nice that you will be teaching her to love her natural curls! Excellent video! Best wishes on everything..marriage, career, motherhood, and your hair journey!!!
Gorgeous hair, whatever you do to it. I really like the red all over, and the black with red tips. And LOVE those last couple of pics where you were sitting outside, your hair looked amazing!
one question. i noticed after you did your BC you wore your hair out like alot did you do many protective styles with your ends tucked? im tired of protective styling and i wanna make sure my hair still grows even if i wear it out
@shaeshaw3 well when i first did my BC my knowledge on protective styles wasn't really up to par, but it didn't hurt me any, my hair has grown very fast and healthy and my ends are fine and i wore it out alot lol
Wow, great video. I LOVE your hair at 5:32 , who did you style it like that? Left your hair out and clipped one side in bobby pins? Your natural hair texture is EXACTLY like mine, no lie. Length and everything, I just dyed it dark red.
@coolklb71122 oh thanx, i did it. thats the way i wear it most of the time, just did a side part and used those bent shaped combs (don't know the name) to pin one side up.
Wow I love your hair, I like it straight but I love it the best curly at the end. Very beautiful journey. Thanks for sharing. Yours was very similar to my mine lol, check out my hair journey video too.
@ivycharlaine awwww i loved your hair journey, your hair is gorgeous girl and so are you. I am afraid to straighten my hair but i want to do a length check as well, i love your curls and jet black looks really good on u, my problem is i get bored with my natural hair color lol
omgg i loved this hair journey video, u look soo frickin pretty in both, when ur hair is straight n curly, & i LOVED the mother daughter pics at the end.. wayy too cute
Loved the video, pics and music........your hair looks so amazing. You also have such a beautiful family. I love being natural too. I have sons and because of me they love and respect a women in her natural state which is so important to me. Thanks for making such great videos. You are so down to earth.........
Love the video. Always admired thick & HEALTHY hair. Some people have the misconception that straight "damaged" hair is healthy. You showed different, but anyways I thought I was going to die at bootcamp when I had to put gel in my hair (was never a sock bun girl till then) lol. Was dorm chief so I had to rock it best. Keep it up =)
@Nat2Be lol girl i had got my hair done the day before i went to basic LOL and was soooo mad when they made us dump shampoo on it and get in the shower. I was like oh hell naw i just got my hair done LOL. good times, i had no idea how to do a bun, lol
I absolutely LOVED this video!!! Your hair looked GORGEOUS straight too!! You're just a hot chick aint you. I also loved that it showed different colors for curls and styles-which I need help with. This generation really DOES need to teach the new one to love what God gave em and not what society likes...so holla at you for your decision with your daughter...who really does have adorable hair!!!!
@Moabite1978 thank you :), i think it is so sad now days that young black women feel the only way to be beautiful is to put chemicals in your hair and try to get it as straight as possible like the white girls, we need to get over that, curls are amazing and you can do somuch with them
Your hair look so healthy when straight! I have a huge fear (do to past experiences) of using heat to straighten my hair. What process do you do to straighten natural hair?
@alex929517 I haven't straightened it myself while natural, i am afraid too lol. if i straighten it i go to a salon and they usually blow dry it and then flat iron. i have only straightened it twice since i went natural tho
I loved this video! you and your daughter are beautiful! I laughed when you had the bun and stated "military" inspired lol. I can't get away from it still lol. If I ever get deployed again I will probably try some type of protective style. Thanks for sharing your journey.
You and your daughter looks so cute together!!! Your hair looks great both ways! I was wondering tho, are you in a rock band or a rap group? You are tattooed-out. By the end I thought I was going to see "Thug For Life" written somewhere, lol.
@WhereYaBoss, Sorry to be redundant then : ). But on another tip: THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR SERVICE. That does not go unnotice by me. You are the sh*t for joining the military during a time of war! Much honor, Much Respect. That takes guts and courage that even the average man doesn't have. So if you want to get your ink. By all means....
Wow I think that was one of the best hair journey videos I've seen. You are so pretty you could be a model! Love your hair ;-) I'm raising my baby girl to love her curls too! She has so much freakin hair...6mos with 5inches of corkscrewcurls!
