My advise: take that piece of shit BBE and whatever the hell else out of the loop, turn your treble ALL the way down...use your mid sparingly and put some low end on that bitch....once you do that, then insert the maximizer back into the mix and trade off the amps LOW END for the BBE's LOW END, and again fine tune the process end of the BBE ever so slightly.

Its "RACK GEAR" not a cover up my shitty sound with layer after layer of screechy bullshit.

hey man, a little tip for your tone. You may want to consider changing the speakers in your cab. I have the same cab (1960a) and replaced 2 of the g12t-75s with v30s (X-pattern) and it sounds GREAT now. Also use a mid-heavy tone.

and one who know 6505s know that they come out of the factory biased cold as fuck which gives you a fizzy cold sound, that is what im hearing, im guessing hes scooping the mids. and the cab hes using might not match the head as well as it could. a camera is not gonna capture the full tone of an amp, but its not gonna make it sound like complete shit unless its like 10 years old.

i put NOS tubes in the preamp. it sounds very tonally rich, has a lot more gain & a great smooth sustain into feedback when holding a note value. but, it still has 6 gain stages for the clean (same as the lead), only 1 tone stack, & the "crunch" is w/o a foot switch and sounds crappy. Im installing an adjustable bias, choke, & dual tube rectifier to try & compress it more & give it a more natural musical tone w/ tighter tracking. if that doesnt work im tossing the bitch out the fuckin window.

really awesome. just one question though, i have a hard time doing pinch harmonics on the low e bass string, when in drop c. do i just gotta work on my technique or should i get some heavy distortion pedal? im using a bc rich bich and a 15 watt fender amp with some decent distortion.

Everything kind of plays into it. For example, some pickups are easier to do it on than others. But if you practice your technique you'll be able to overcome any obstacles. One tip: try slightly different spots on where your pick plucks the string. You can get different sounding harmonics and or no harmonics depending on where you pluck. Sometimes you pluck a "dead zone" other times you nail a screaming harmonic. Just keep at it my friend, and soon it'll come natural without even thinking.
