    Thanks!

  • I made stuffed pepper before from other recipe but it was tasteless. I will try this one and see how it taste.

  • @ 2:33 just another great American dish....I guess. Because what we don't understand we don't posses, Right?

    Thanks chef John,your cool Dude.

  • Chef with all due respect this is a mexican old old dish .... Glad you can around to perfecting it! Your my hero!!!

  • @lopez4fun Many cultures have their own "version" of stuffed peppers... There is a Korean dish very similar to this sans tomato sauce, as well as similar Italian dishes. No culture can really claim rights to being the original stuffed pepper dish.

  • " Diced tomatuh"

  • DOLMA!!!!!!!

  • @tigran914 exactly what I said lol

  • Can you substitute the diced tomato with something else? Or just completely leave it out?

  • @nycgurl017 I'm leaving it out, currently in the oven now, i substituted more tomato's sauce in the stuffing for the diced tomato's :P

  • lady should not be cooking ( particularly when it involves directly handling food) with painted nails.

  • I've learned to never make food that needs me to use my hands to mix while I have nail polish on. It can flake off into the food.

  • @DoveOfFlames then use gloves.

  • CHEF JOHN. YOU ARE AMAZING.

  • tomata...lol.Said like a Texan.

  • Comment removed

  • I mixed this up and it's baking in the oven. I am so stoked! I am a guy and not good at cooking lol. Thank you YouTube! And Chef John:)

  • @ClimbingCasey How'd it turn out?

  • yup fuck my diet weight loss is over rated ne how im trying this

  • I never eat the peppers themselves, only the inside. I'm evil, I know.

  • What is the problem with nail polish? Once it dries, it doesn't come off. Women live and do all every day things with polish on their nails.

  • Am I the only weirdo that watches cooking shows late at night?

  • @rondachewarrior no i do too xD

  • @Pyroboy122 lol

  • @rondachewarrior Lol nah... Its almost like porn.. Everytime Im hungry I watch some food shows.. I like to call it food porn XD

  • Where can i get the recipe ???

  • Those red nails freaked me out at first lol. I actually rewinded to make sure my eyes saw red nails. Glad u clarified that Chef John

  • @berviify i did that too....i thought it was as scarey as some ghost story....

  • Yes, the little hit of bitterness in the green peppers is what really works for stuffed peppers. Sure..now that the price of the RED ones is falling, haha.

  • My personal secret when making stuffed Bell Peppers - very lean and goes extremely quick. Check out /watch?v=GboXu8fmN8E

  • Roses are red

    Violets are blue

Chef John's nails are red is true

  • i luv polish food great recipie

  • Cheese in it? Why?? Try them without cheese, much better trust me and serve them with yogurt.

  • @emmelineee

what type of yogurt? sounds like a brilliant way to serve it, i guess more of a greek thing? i usually do an italian style. could you possibly give me your quick recipe and then the type of yougurt you would serve

  • This is a tradinational Turkish dish called "Dolma". Also you can try it without beef and with olive oil,but then you should eat them when they are cold.

  • Wow - can't wait to make this - mouth is watering just watching the video! Thanks

  • just made this last nite and it awsome it was so mmm good...

  • It's a Persian dish and we call it DOLMEH.

  • Is your wife a musician? Strings, perhaps? I see a lot of short nail gals who play guitar :) Tah-may-dah!

  • Look at his nails at 0:38.

  • @fishmeatlover no just cut it down and dig in (eat the pepper! its really nutrient rich!)

  • How will I eat it? Am I supposed to scoop out the pork mixture? or just slice it together with the pepper? I really wanna try this!

  • @fishmeatlover lol Yes, you're supposed to scoop out the pork mixture inside. Some people eat the whole thing though?

  • Off to make them now!~ Thank you for the help! Great videos!

  • I prefer it with plain tomato sauce. Meat, rice, gr cumin, salt, cayenne and garlic in the stuffing.

  • chef, can we use the same recipe for the meat to do some meatballs? would that be good?

  • *drools*

  • Using half's instead of whole peppers is an amazing tip. Worked out much better.

  • I like the narrator! He has a nice voice and speaks well.

  • This looks really good. I am going to try this

  • Chef John wakes up every morning and eats heaven

  • Omg....this looks delicious!!!!

  • I made some but used breadcrumbs instead of rice... I hope chef john accepts my video response

  • you are awesome!

  • I did these. Excellent!!!!!

  • dont be mixing stuff with ur dirty nail polish hand....thats just gross...who the hell taught u people how to cook....

  • if it's just for yourself then i think it's okay >_> in a food buisness yes you need ot remove it

  • @ramprashad29 It's just for him and his wife, not for resturant patrients... sooo I don't see the issue?

  • @Pyroblazer You're totally right, but apparently he has something nasty to say about every video he comes across :/ Some people just have really low self esteem and need to make comments like that to make themselves feel better.

  • @rik90 and the most creative thing he could think about was "OMG UR DIRTY HANDZ"

  • i add some jalapenos to this and there soooooo good

  • Super recipe and walk-thru!

I wonder if it would be too cumbersome to detail the hyperlink so that it directs the viewer directly to the recipe at hand rather than to the website main page (?).

Just a thought. Super contribution, thanx!!!

  • Not to get off on a rant but did she have to use her bare hands when she's got nail polish?

  • They look delicious...can't wait to make them.

  • did she have nail polish on. thats not good when you are working with food. where are the plastic gloves at.

  • @1980marlow get a life it's cooking at home, what's wrong with you???

  • @1980marlow

  • hah this is almost the same as a proper turkish recipe called dolma

    almost identical

  • Thank you for the recipe - I make these all the time now (taste great, and people are really impressed). In fact there are some in the oven as I type : )

  • those look awesome but i am the only person that likes to eat these with brown gravy?? theyre delicious with the tomato-based sauce as well but theyre also really good with the gravy, if you havent tried it i would definitely recommend it....awesome recipe and video

  • In what world is "tomato" Pronounced "Tomata" lol

  • I hope thats not you in the video john, red nails

  • TomaDA?? :s lol

  • they look yummy and I'm definitely gong to try them, but I wonder whether using cooked rice and then baking for over an hour doesn't result in very mushy rice in the end? Sorry for doubting but I'm italian and I'm used to eat everything "al dente" :) If you used uncooked rice, wouldn't it be still enough (after an hour in the oven) to cook nicely?

  • just incase ur wondering, i havent started getting manicure.....hahahaha thats a classic cause i was just wondering when he said that.

  • i like the way he says parmesan..hehe

  • nice nails chef :P

  • I bet he puts cayenne in his coffee!

  • I've always had them with green peppers. I'll have to try the red pepper version.

  • do i reeally need to use onions? i hate onions. bleugh!

  • mom is always making them ..i dont like them ...but she dosent use parmesan ..maybe she should ..maybe then id like them ..hmmmm

  • enjoyed.

  • In my family we've always used green pepper. My dad used to use a combo of lamb and beef ground together for the stuffing. I also reallllly like to stuff poblano/ancho peppers and use them instead of regular green bells.

  • sorry, but that is so not "an american classic". it's hungarian! more or less.

  • havin a dinner party friday night. i think this may be the winner for the dinner. :)

  • Why do YOU have red fingernails that look like they're on a 9 year old girl?
