Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to thought, an impulse to the imagination, a charm to sadness, gaiety and a boost to the lives of all things. Plato
Daniel needs hair cut ! That white tissue on the piano distracts me and the camera man at 2:40 ,and next time don't leave papers on Timpani while recording !
By saying that, you've discredited some of the century's best Chopin performers, including Pollini, Argerich, Kissin, and Horowitz, not to mention older pianists such as Rachmaninoff.
Master at work. But the best way to enjoy Barenboim's playing is to attend his solo recitals.I attended Daniel Barenboim's live performances several times. Chamber Hall of the Berliner Philharmonie. Stainway@Sons. Maestro. Audience. Shopin's music. Great. Really great.
Talk about him as a great musician, and a poet of the piano. He's not simply a composer.
So it doesn't really mater if someone composes only for the piano or other instruments, but what the artist wanted to say- tha's the most important thing.
I don't understand why so many people gave a "bad-mark"... I agree with you. I have played once under his baton in the same orchestra, and he played a beethoven concertos as well. He, is a REAL master. I
And if those who gave me a "bad-mark" are the ones who know how to perform this better than Barenboim, well, then I leave them alone in their opinion.
I love Barenboim, as a conductor and as a Piano Master.
You are a lucky one that you were in his orchestra, under, as you say it so wonderful, his baton...
Even if I only could have been there, doing nothing more than watch him, feel the beautiful atmosphere, then I would be the luckiest woman on earth.

i've had the pleasure to work in the scala theatre twice when Barenboim had worked for Swan Lake, all of us were enchanted to hear him!

Barenboim in his masterclasses are superb, esp with Beethoven, but here seems to have very unstable tempos!

@lovepeace20 Wow, if a piece of tissue on a piano distracts you, I don't think you should be watching videos on youtube... -_-

The orchestra sounds horrible! Probably should blame the conductor...

Are you loyal to berlinzerberus? He said the same EXACT thing on his Chopin Nocturne Op. 9 no. 2.
"Barenboim and Chopin, Yes! He has feeling, a lot of feeling, for this music!!"

Sweet - a GREAT orchestra, great pianist and Chopin!! Will this be released on CD? - call me old fashioned, I still prefer to buy CD's than download.

He was a genius composer for the piano, sadly couldn't do any justice for any other instruments. :(
