Nothing was said about him not being in Cataclyms. MC is being taken out, thus the sword isn't going to be obtainable. There's nothing to say that Thunderaan won't make an appeariance somewhere down the line. For all you know he might show up in some quests, or an instance boss. He might be the one to send you to kill Rag.
I don't play WoW anymore, but I was in a classic WoW raiding guild and helped down Thunderaan so one of our guildies could get TF. Now you just go ahead and solo him...

Gratz Mates, i'm also near to complete the quest, i got both bindings in 5 resets, now i need only 5 elementium ore (i already have all mats for the bars) Hakkar (eu) - Imbabunny
Getting the bindings is purely luck based. In my case it was extreme luck because I got both of my bindings within 2 months. Some guilds saw both drop in one run, others like a friend of mine, have been trying for 3 years without seeing both.
32k hp should be enough to solo Thunderann, he's fairly easy, but if you want, bring a healer with you and it'd be a guaranteed win.
im currently farmin geddon/garr, got one of the bindings and i got two questions,
how long did it take you get the bindings of geddon cuz ive been farming him for months and yet ive had two of the same bindings drop off garr and also, is thunderan hard or should i bring people with me .. i got around 32k hp on my dk
i plan on doing this once i get my DK up to 80 and get him better gear...plan on farming Naxx trash for Inevitable Defeat before i do any soloing since its awesome as a tank AND DPS weapon XD
just had a quick question to clean up some confusion i have. if you get a Binding off of Garr, and you start the quest chain, get the quest from the guy in Silithus, and if you kill Baron Geddon, is his Binding a 100% drop rate since you have the quest? or is it just the normal small percent of a chance?

So, as far as i can tell you soloed Baron as blood spec, which makes sense. Ive tryed to solo him as unholy with no avail. Could you tell me your exact spec, and rotation you used to keep yourself alive, and are you in tank gear or dps gear?

yeah, I didnt really think I could solo him at the time I started farming him, and one time I brought a healer that ended up dying at around 70% and I managed to kill him from there, so I started soloing him the following week

Baron kicked my ass. Blood is amazing. It heals you a crap ton, if you're smart. You can destroy everything, Its a cake walk. I got my half off Garr, lucky run with my wife and friends for Achievement. But, as a pure raider from BC, I guess. I am lucky, to get the quest. Aisilez- Moonguard.

depends on your gear, I go blood because its my favorite spec. I think rune tap is definitely a must grab for soloing though.
