My interpretation:- This song's talking about consumerism and it's effects on humanity. Take a look at things around us. All the green, natural trees are replaced with the 'fake' and 'plastic' materials that we generally go after. All of these cause a lot of things like unnecessary desires, environmental issues, and so forth, and these consequences affects us negatively, wearing us down.
