  • ...Now Devo.. who the fuck cares i already went to heaven with this song

  • ...

  • coldplay got their whole schtick from this song, and prolly this whole record.

  • 90s were full of weird music videos that bugged my mind when I was a young boy.

  • Fucking reminds me of blur!

  • Song might be "sad" but I listened to this song after 10yr brek-up and yeah, It made me sad but its "Power' &"Passion" and the "Pain" & "Emotion" he brings to it was "Inspirational" to me at that moment! Still one of my favourite "Radiohead" songs!

  • Who remembers this song on Entourage? :)

  • the next song would have been "whats my age again?"...

  • looks damn close to Chase Hawk.

  • If they only would keep doing music like in past and not this new crap it would be so good :/

  • 240p youve won again......

  • Thom Yorke is such a cutie.

  • i always have to stare at his eye...i know i know!!! its bad...

  • @bettyrokkett LOL it must not be that bad cause it made me give you a thumbs up and I laughed out loud for real!

  • The best song ever

  • thank you, this song is special!

  • thom yorke

  • this guy is Mr Bean but has a nice voice if you like anthems...

  • entourage rocks

  • My fake plastic love.

  • I heard it in "Entourage" (s5e7). Great song!

  • A world full of differential beauty, faceted within the echoes of perception, about which the fractals of infinity form .But they. They live in a box. They catch a box to work, where they toil in a different box, for paper with a picture on of something they despise or are indifferent too, then then catch a box home and tune in to the box. Still at least they can't call me square ;)

  • @VinVilhjalmsson wow, that really tried to be profound.

  • 3:15 so cute

  • i dont know what it is about this song that makes my heart drop everytime i listen to it.

  • She looks like the real thing,

She tastes like the real thing...

    My fake plastic love.

  • @MrNickMMM

i reckon if these lyrics mean something to you,

it probably hurt, or has hurt. In that context,

this triplet has been/can be/is the most

    powerful I've heard, personally.

Well done Thom Yorke for putting this sh!t down.

  • Aqui estamos, todos los excluidos =O! =)

  • This is so awesome! I love this...please check out my humble version :)

  • 1:39... I love the looks on the faces of those babies. On the left - happiness, on the right - WTF? :)

  • fuck yeah, check out my cover :) ill buy you icecream

  • This is trending on Twitter for some reason. Good song though, I first heard it on Entourage.

  • @Jetara now u just need to see Arcade fire live to be the luckiest person ever ^^

  • Who else noticed blink 182's whats my age again at the end?

  • good sad song

  • who writes most of radioheads songs? i love radiohead.

  • @Simon0 Radiohead

  • @DrBRADish hmm.. yeah i guess you're right.

  • Thom's looking very young here

  • I took acid to this song! AND I JUST HAD THIS FEELING OF LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @A55ma57er I got that feeling of love without acid :)

  • anyone knows where can I get this tshirt hes wearing if it's possible?

  • I don't care how mainstream this is, its a great fucking song

  • Happy Birthday Phil Selway (May 23)

  • I knew this song...but I didnt *really* know it until I realized the singer in the shopping cart is representing my inner child, the me inside we all put walls around and defend and then portray that fake plastic image. And now this song is soul-shattering.

  • geez thom yorke has such a weird eye

  • @VideoKiwi2008 Yeah, he has a drooping eyelid on one side. I think its kinda cool lol. It makes him stand out.

  • So much music here to choose from, but I always get drawn to this. One of the best songs ever written....

  • Thom, please don't shake the cart sweety 2:58

  • 2:31 to 3:19 best passage :D

  • I can't describe which feelings this record awakes in me..such a wonderful and profound song...i love radiohead for that one.

  • i typed fake

  • Now, Devo...

  • Nobody could ever ever do this song even just slightly better than Radiohead do.

  • thom yorke writes such good songs, but when you go to wikipedia to read his view about the song... well it ruins it! :(

  • @giko7 Don't do it! When you listen to it you own it :)

  • @TheStardazy yes, you're right :)

  • la amooo!!!

  • now devo

  • for some reason I always listen to this when I'm sad, I always get to a certain point in the song where I'm crying, and then I always end up smiling towards the end, not many songs can do that to somebody.

  • @bunnypoohful especially when people think like that girl rebecca black can we considered as music...

its hard to find music that can communicate nowadays; and not just in america, i know lots of countries' rock / alternative/ and others radio stations get cancelled because there are no more people listening to anything besides pop. no offense to others, i respect all hard worked music; just saddens me of where the next generation is headed

  • @bunnypoohful yea. But that's because of drugs, dear.

  • @bunnypoohful

    It isnt a happy song...

  • @bunnypoohful I know people recommend garbage all the time, but this isn't garbage... buy any album by Audrye Sessions... The song "Nothing Pure Can Stay" affects me like you just described... Your money will not be wasted... One of the best bands no one has ever heard of... Unfortunately they aren't together anymore... Also New Year's Day... GAh, the whole album is great (I have Braille)... K I'm done.

  • She lives with a broken man

    A cracked polystyrene man

Who just crumbles and burns..... the same history ever and ever again

  • I don't feel as bad about my lazy eye now.

  • @monspubis2 u shouldnt feel bad about that... no one is perfect!

  • I missed Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Lennon, The Doors, Jefferson Airplane....but I did see Radiohead live. Thank God, maybe this is the last Band to come along another way than brainwasher mainstream.

  • @Jetara Yup...I had had always wanted to be able to see a band live and be amazed by them like Pink Floyd or any of the bands you mentioned.....and then I saw Radiohead in 2008......and just turned my whole world around and since then have been my favorite band =).....

  • @Jetara listen independent music where they don't have rules like band with big labels

p.s I can see you like old rock, go listen the black angels

  • @Jetara

All of those bands you mentioned were completely mainstream.

  • @Nawieo Man, you probably think I will now discuss what is mainstream, what became mainstream and so on...but I simply won´t do that, cause i do not care about the mainstream, the emphasis was put on "brainwash".

  • @Jetara turn ur tv off. simple as that

  • @Jetara would you get over yourself? you are either EXTREMELY narrow minded or just can't be bothered to appreciate some amazing modern artists or be aware of their existence. You don't seem to realize your "brainwash" analysis is too "in" to be a genuine evaluation of music or how far it's come and continues to evolve. Not to mention hypocritical and egotistical. . Try these artists: Bjork, aphex twin, the arcade fire, devin townsend

  • Respond to this video... mum, passion pit, the list of amazing artists who continue to produce highly original complex and amazing music goes on and on. Great stuff is out there dude. You just have to look and listen.

  • @Jetara hells yeah...fuck mainstream.....

  • @kaylee932 Hipster.

  • @Jetara dont talk shit theres been plenty of great bands that are out of the mainstream since radiohead, stupid comment to make

  • @ABoyInTheBush like?

  • They're so strange that it's hot and their music is just art <3

  • Now, devoo.

  • My first blast brain

  • this song reminds me of catcher in the rye. throughout, they're complaining about everything being fake and phony, but at the end, the lyrics "if i could be who you wanted, all the time" give away how vulnernable and lonely the singer really is.

  • wow, those were the days...........<3 the endless possibilities of the 90s :)

    uhmmm

  • This album makes me feel super happy even though alot of the songs are about depressing shit and or ennui. The music is just too pleasing...it outweighs anything in the lyrics, and I often don't even listen to them

  • If we live our lives without finding meaning...everything becomes fake or it may as well be...LOVE Radiohead...life without God and Radiohead wouldn't be worth be living...

  • be real....

  • Playtime = 4:20

  • this video contains content from radiohead and the other artists involed. FUCK EMI.

  • Fuck EMI , WMG and VEVO pushing the little guys out. If they woulda done their job in the 1st place we wouldnt have to go through this.

  • my song I learn in guitar

  • Thom yorke was so young in this video.

  • blink 182 at the end if you listen carefully "whats my age again"

  • i honestly thought radiohead were idiots until i saw this vid back in 95 or 96 or whenever and i began to have a sneaking suspicion they might be geniuses. turns out i was right for once.

  • @filescheme25 Freud is a waste of time so don't put too much emphasis on his theories

  • @joes2250 He's not, he was just living in the wrong era, and making theories based on the medical information of the time.

  • I just uploaded a track off their new album 'The King of Limbs'. Check it out :)

  • This song is 4 minutes and 20 seconds long, WIN.

  • Jessica...

  • I hate fake plastic trees too...unless they smell like new car smell or strawberry.

  • am i the only to realize the shopping cart's metal pieces are the shapes of dicks?

  • @filescheme25 Freud could explain why you see dicks instead of just metal shapes...The rest YouTube knows as well...

  • @pinworms70 that made me lol

  • @pinworms70 WIN :D!

  • Blink 182 at the very very end?

  • this song just changed my life

  • the one and only planetary band

  • That's the greatest message for the consumers...

  • 3:04 :

OH SHIT! the old dudes got guns!

  • One of my (personal) least favourite Radiohead songs, but that still makes it one of the best songs ever written. Funny that.

  • @srimecrime it's one of my favourite Radiohead songs.

  • @romallivgf And I totally respect that :) any Radiohead fan has great taste, as far as I'm concerned.

  • One of my absolute favorite songs

  • What could the line "but gravity always wins" possibly mean? can someone help me out? i really would like to know!!!

  • @gracedesigns Have you ever dropped something or just plain fell down??? Hopefully that answers your question,I'm pretty sure thats what it means-"gravity".

  • @gracedesigns i guess that there are somethings that dont an established meaning.. you have to interpret it for yourself .

and that line for means that there are somethings that you cannot fight against, because they are overwhelming .. like gravity.

embrace both the good times, and the bad times, because both are part of life :)

  • @gracedesigns well talks about the surgery, makes me think, that the surgery peformed will be vasted.. because of time and gravity, (the breast will hang again..).. or u might even say that time will take the "outside" beuty.. from your person.. but i see the song, as a desperate need for a girl with inner values. .instead of fake plastic people..

  • @gracedesigns Gravity always wins? Easy.... Radiohead are talking about synthetic, fake things such as 'plastic surgery'. The line...."used to do surgery for girls in the 80's..but gravity always wins' refers to the fact that you can temporarily hide your aging with vanity, make up and surgery, but ultimately, everything goes saggy - hence, 'Gravity always wins'. True.

  • @Rob1973Monkey is that not beautiful. I think natural is lovely, lines sag, flub, all of it if the person in it is what matters anyhow. I love the mind and soul, wish everybody did, would help the world immensely w/out all the dysmorphic unreality,.

  • I LOVE YOU RADIOHEAD. <3 I LOVE THIS SONG. IT SERIOUSLY JUST CALMS ME WHEN IM HAVING A BAD DAY.

  • I honestly believe this song is mainly about how everything is fake. People are fake, relationships are fake, words are fake, "truth" is fake. Everything, coming down to every concern you may have.

    The world is fake.

  • @LV0493 we are surrounded by ideology, friend, we are all fake...

  • @JMiguelDS4 True...

  • so a tolles lied.

  • @wuLianti01 voll!

  • I think thom yorke just smoked some pot and wrote whatever came to his mind .-.

but hey, that's only my opinion =D

  • Good thing i was rarely introduced to new songs and artists via video clips. Not a bad one, the particular one, but had completely different pictures in my head, when i first heard it back in 1996. It is a shame that nowadays the only true media that has the power to make you dream your own dreams the radio- fades away, quicker than i ever contemplaited.

All of their videos are real works of art but somehow they never match the visions i get by listening solely to their music.

  • Good thing i was rarely introduced to songs via their videos. Not a bad video this one, but had completely different pictures in my head, when i first heard it back in 1996. And after all it is a shame that the main media to find out new songs is not the radio. (i mean new for you, not just new releases)And what is all this thing about oldtimers. It is music, whether it was made in 1798 or 2011.

  • @ArtisDaSpoonman Priceless.

  • My interpretation:- This song's talking about consumerism and it's effects on humanity. Take a look at things around us. All the green, natural trees are replaced with the 'fake' and 'plastic' materials that we generally go after. All of these cause a lot of things like unnecessary desires, environmental issues, and so forth, and these consequences affects us negatively, wearing us down. Please, correct me if I'm wrong and I'd also would like to hear about other opinions as well.

  • @Vosloff you are so right, my friend calls them sparticles..people have lost themselves, tied up with buying things and then they think they need to protect those things..its stops our connection with the community..we are scared that someone will take those things away..if we only have food, medicine and education for all then we will return to the way things should be, we need nothing else except family, loved ones. our friends and of course music, but there will always be

  • WHY DO MY SHOPPING CARTS NEVER HAVE THOM YORKE IN THEM.

  • ".. Now, DEEVVOOOO" @ the end

  • this song is amazing, he is so much in my life. And he's got no idea

    I love you Thom York

  • "MY FAKE PLASTIC LOVE..."

  • mi grupó favorito para fumas motaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa jsjjjsjsjsjsjsjsjsjs estoy pedo jajajajjajaa es mi primer comentario

  • the brilliance of this song musically is that it creates the illusion of "simplicity"...to create that illusion in itself is actually anything but simple. Look outside, capture an everyday image of a street with cars and people etc..then try to recreate that image of simplicity; as an art form...any imitation of life done right, allows one to bask in the illusion of simplicity..this song allows a listener to feel, imagine and relate to...it takes talent becuase it is no easy task.
