@ILoveMacca100 You must be young. Those guys are the Smothers Brothers. They were a comic team with a very successful variety show in the sixties. They got all the best entertainers to perform on their show, and they did political satire. They were also a folk duo in their earlier career. One brother played the straight man and the other played a more simple, perhaps mildly mentally challenged, innocent guy who always got the best of his serious older brother.
@jtixtlan O, you take me back! The Smothers brothers wrote so many comic/politically satirical songs. "The Streets of Laredo" ("If you get an outfit you can be a cowboy too"). "They're rioting in Africa, they're starving in Spain; there's hurricanes in Florida and Texas needs rain ... But we can be grateful and thankful and proud, for man's been endowed with the mushroom-shaped cloud." What fun they were -- along with Tom Lehrer!
I feel like I'm 9 years old again, lying on the floor of my parents' den and watching our old, round, black and white Zenith tv...the one where I was the "remote control."
Paul Simon is Jerry Landis since if you look at Lone Teen Ranger from 1958 you can see the resemblance in their faces. THIS IS AWSOME cause i am feeling groovy since im only 16yrs old.
@jamesspeculator Mr. Spock, Dr. Spoke was a guy who, according to his children, didn't raise them so swell. If the other Spock was so smart why wasn't he a doctor too?
@jamesspeculator I was just thinking "am I the only one who think this looks like straight out of an old Star trek episode" when I noticed your comment.
I love the music, but it really does look a lot like Star Trek. I also think this would make an excellent PSA for LSD.

If it's in stereo, then the soundtrack to this was not on the Smothers Brothers, they didn't have stereo TV then.

not their best song lyrically but melodically it's absolutely superb. it just breathes happiness. astounding quality.

The two guys at the end who materialized out of nowhere are what made this for me, apart from the song and Simon's happy faces.
