@eried i used a stock case from polycase and then francencased in what i need. i have my photobucket album linked in the description. i took pics of the entire process.
@lovablechevy very professional finish!, too bad for the last 'damage' you shown in the video :( btw I think will be funnier to see the making of rather than the finishing product :D
@eried well, it's hard enough for me to make a finished video. most complain i can't hold the camera still. since the only video i have is on my phone... but that's why i take a lot of pictures to document the progress.
Beautiful Unit. So Awesome. Lol @ Super Mario Bros... I've been playing New Super Mario Bros Wii so it looks funny. I felt the urge to do a spin when you jumped towards the flag.
@cyhill99 yeah, it's a tight squeeze as it is. the cart slot cover could have been a bit thinner tho. but yes, it is basically the smallest you can get an nes2 portable to be. at least, using the other items i did. could be smaller if you left out some of the ports i put in and if you used a 2.5" screen. but who wants a 2.5" screen? ;)
@dedpxl no, zappers don't work on lcd screens. i use my a/v out plug and plug the zapper up and use the zapper on my tube tv. as i talk about in the video. and demonstrate in one of the other videos in the description.
@SatoshiMatrix1 i have 2 3.7v li-ion batteries in it. i've not been able to test battery life yet. i'm currently draining the battery so i can fully charge it to do a test run. in fact, it's sitting across the table from me playing the intro to mega man 2 over and over at about 3/4 volume. lol!
@SatoshiMatrix1 they are the same type of batteries found in most portable devices. such as cell phones or a ds lite or a psp. so, i just have an ac adapter jack. just hook it up to my charger and i can play while charging or not.
@lovablechevy You don't need to (and should not) completely drain li-ion batteries before charging. Also, please be sure you have some sort of charging control circuitry for the batteries. Most phones have the controller inside of them, while the AC adapter is just a "dumb" device. At the very best, you'll ruin the batteries after a while and at the worst you'll have a battery fire.
@Pilotgeek well, duh. to the point of them being "dead" so i can fully charge them to have an accurate count. i hadn't charged them at all after purchasing them. but had used them a bit to make sure everything was working. i have a protection circuit, just like you're supposed to. but i can't very well get an accurate battery life reading with 1/2 charged batteries, now, can i? i'm not an idiot. i work with these batteries all the time. i know what i'm doing.
@lovablechevy My apologies, of course with such a well-done project you know what you're doing. I just don't see the point of draining lithium ion batteries before charging them fully, as the memory effect is negligible on li-ion.
Incase I havn't mentioned this before...That's one sexy portable!

cool idea. nice and sleek. thats basically the smallest you can make it while still keeping the nes cartridge intact.

Should have used an etch a sketch case and the speakers with filters (probably painted red) could go where the knobs were good build though.

Spectacular. I love this. What kind of battery did you use and what kind of battery life does your new handheld have?

@lovablechevy awesome. How do you recharge the batteries? by simply plugging in an external power supply?
