Of all the places to be stuck, London is definitely one of the better as long as you have somewhere to stay. That said, it's never nice to be stuck away from home, so I wish you so much luck getting back, the prognosis for long haul flights doesn't sound good, but I'm sure you'll get back soon.

I feel for you about the flying problem. Just wondering two things: 1) is the ash cloud like... raining ash on the cars and buildings andd if so 2) were the engines clogged on those too?

@OldManMonologue Not raining ash. The ash cloud is composed of very fine particles. The sky as seen from where I am is very blue. We're not seeing noticeable fallout of volcanic ash.
