I always play this song and many others of monk and charles mingus in a jazzclub in Holland (near by Amsterdam) what a pitty that we can't meat eachother, by the way I'm playing the double bass. There are not so much people listening to this kind of music.

Great lesson by the master, Thelonious Monk: when holding any object in your hand, don't let it be an obstacle for you to keep playing. After all, if you're as good as Monk was, you'll always hit the right note no matter what you'll be doing or holding in your hands. (0:22 - 0:30). He was brilliant! genious!
