  • The thing is . Its only transparent to the camera but to the human eye it looks like your a retard dancing around with a special made black trench coat .

  • I think they call that a green screen.

  • I wont say fake or real, but im sure we will find out if invisible ninjas are beginning to steal all kinds of shit :O

  • he is just standing in a projector

  • @SERPANTTOUNGs And yet, no projection on his face. Or his tie, for that matter.

  • It's gotta be hard to find if you take it off and set it down some where...

  • you know i stead of wearing a baggy jacket that casts shadows..maybe he can make it into a body suit which is skin tight and is less likely to wrinkle. i think that's better!

  • It's a green screen. He's wearing green clothes, making him blend into the background. That's why weather reporters can't wear green, or else it will look like that part of the body is invisible.

  • @Coins4Cheese

No this is real. Do your research before posting your 'opinions'

    google Susumu Tachi

Same group is producing all of the legit active camo videos you will see on youtube.

  • @xxbill42Oxx "On one hand, there's the optical camouflage technology developed by scientists at the University of Tokyo. This approach works on the same principles of the blue screen used by TV weather forecasters and Hollywood filmmakers. If you want people to see through you, then why not just film what's behind you and project it onto your body?

  • @xxbill42Oxx Granted, it hardly matches up to the personal cloaking devices found in the likes of "Metal Gear Solid" video game series, but it produces similar (though more limited) results.

  • @xxbill42Oxx For a far more advanced approach, consider investing in a cloak made from metamaterials, tiny structures smaller than the wavelength of light. If properly constructed, such a cloak would actually guide rays of visible light around an object -- much like a rock diverting water in a stream. For now, however, the technology only works in two dimensions and only comes in the ultra-petite size of 10 micrometers across.

  • @Coins4Cheese ive seen this some where xD

  • lol nice dance

  • Theres a lot of tech we dont expect exist but does, just not to us common eyes T.T

  • Holy Shit!

  • not saying that its not real but its quite easy to do this with a green screen and a coat that is green ^_^

  • Looks like he's standing infront of a projector... let's see the footage again with a movable handheld camera...

  • Meta Materials - Silver Mirrors - Bends Light - Plausible

  • Loose the tie and get some gloves and a blaclava.

  • This was time magazine's coolest invention of 2003....it's real.

  • Not nearly all of the UV spectrum visible to humans can be completely camouflaged, yet. Nanoscopic weaving of Silver and other reflecting material can change the Refraction of the Light Waves Bending Around the Object from Any Possible Angle. Light from Furthest Away bending Around the Object Cloaked and then Passing To Your Eyes from that Visible Dimension.

The TV Colour is Changed at a Angle when he is In Front of the Screen Tv. He Turns Green. Red is the Only Frequency Known to Manipulate

  • One Should Always Capitalize The First Letter Of Each Word For No Apparent Reason

  • @smith45acp ................................

  • special effects... jeez

  • I don't know man. My brother is a sniper in the army and he said that he knows guys that are playing around with with stuff like this

  • duh of course its a fake the tv screen appears brighter when he goes across it

  • and your a reatard

  • lol i agree your a retard, this has been out for several years already hah, metamaterials and organic LED's are paving the way for real cloaking camo

  • mmmmm i want them to make it better. while its good i could still see a blurred out line which is bad. it is supposed to be totall mimicry of the background i could still see his coat. but its a start

  • wow lol thats cool as!

  • do you really think that if you do your a moron lol he is wearing chromo grafic fabris they project the image on to him from the video the have allready made of that room lol come on how many sucker are there

  • Sorry to break it to you, but this can be achieved with a green screen... Just use a slightly darker hoodie of basically same color as the screen.

  • yah its the projective noobs

  • You noobs its called NanoFiber Technology. The fibers are so small they reflect light from the back to the front, from any angle your viewing, so if someone pointed a laser pointer at him he would glow like a bulb. Although this is a partial camera trick cuz it only applys currently to the red spectrum.

  • wouldn't that mean that the coat would be invisible but the man isn't? i.e. he appears to be naked (a sneaky way of legally flashing maybe?)

  • No..the cameras are on the other side of the coat, not the inside...lol, but I'm sure that the flashing thing could be done.

  • I was replying to D4RKFX.

Although now that I re-read it I see how it could be done. Although it would probably be fucking heavy.

  • Oh, lol, sorry, It's kind of annoying that Youtube doesn't just automatically put replies below the comment, you have to wait for it.

Yeah...I know what you're saying though about the weight...I was just thinking that.

  • rofl

  • aww, now I've seen how many thumbs down that got.

  • Awesome, if I had one of those... :D

  • This is video of the TECH at Nextfest guys, it even says it on the back board, so stop dismissing this as fake, its part of the tech expo demo.

  • It's not a projection, it would be on his face if it were.

Still, his shadow is showing up...oh well, I'm not techie.

  • it might only project onto surfaces of a specific color

  • Yep, metamaterials.

  • looks like a silver/grey rain coat

  • search on wikipedia...active camouflage its all there...if you are too lazy to do it

THERE IS A CAMERA I DUNNO WHERE...BUT IT GETS THE IMAGES BEHIND HIM AND THE JACKET OR MATERIAL PROJETCS IT, IF YOU WOULD MOVE YOURSELF WHILE WATCHING THIS MAN YOU WOULD SEE THAT THE EFECT ITS GONE CUZ ITS ONLY SUPPOSED TO BE SEEN BY THE FRONT^^

  • google "soldier tech active camouflage" and click on the defensetech(dot)com link

  • if it is a projector, then how does it work with the tv in the background?

unless the image being projected in perfect sync with the tv?

  • I'm pretty sure that's real, I've seen stuff like that on the news before... fuck knows how it works though (I'm guessing something to do with fiber optics?) Anyway if it was a projector why isn't the image on his face or hands?

  • This is a simple greenscreen effect. This guy just jaszzed it up. Anyone can do it with Final Cut Pro or Adobe and a green jacket. Get over it. There is a light refractive technique that is being EXPERIMENTED WITH, but it is unsuccessful at the time being. Meaning THIS IS NOT IT.

  • It's a project from a university in Japan. Sorry for replying a month later. I don't know how it works, but I did see it a Science convention in California.

  • easy its the projector

  • so any light that hits the material will fall bak on itself in simple terms and theyve made it as u can c but they havnt perfected it yet there still workin on it. anywayy yeh it aint a fkn projector ! thought to let u ppl know

  • its REAL u fools lol its physics related c theres this thing called refractive index and its only found in natural materials and the statement made is that there can only be a positive refractive index but jnow there working on a man-made material to be made with a negative refractive index

  • I wanna know this...

if he is wearing anything that would allow the objects behind to be shown on the front, like active camouflage supposedly does... why can't i see his tie behind his arm, when i can see the monitor and background behind him...hmm

  • Also notice everyone that it can't be a projector. The tie and the white part of his shirt doesn't have a display on it? If it were a projector, the projection would hit his white shirt and his tie.

  • Its not fake i saw that on discovery and they told that its a version of LCD that is bendable in short its liquid crystals that get a collor at a sertain voltage so i wouldnt want to wear that in rain and damage the water protection it would be one fryed man.

  • You can't really say it's fake due to the shadow behind him. Even if this actually is an active camouflage suit, and the cameras are projecting properly, then light is still going to cast a shadow on him. The shadow being casted, if done by a normal projector, would blot out the image behind him .. not just cast a shadow.

But it could be green screen behind, keeping a stable movie of the background, with projector on him.

  • One word !

    Projector

    :)

  • If it was a projector, wouldn't you see the image being blotted out behind him?

Not to mention, being at a technology expo as that guy is, I think that his little projector "scheme" may be discovered.

  • fake, i didn't need this video n i before hand thought of a camo like this already. but there is no technology to do so. yes. ok. let's stay a box have 6 sides. wtf if i am looking at side one not directly 90degrees but 45degress from the left , ;) unless you can make each pratical or very small piece that can human eye can't see another projection

  • If you notice when he moves, it isn't exactly perfect. Just as you said, at a different angle the projection may be obscured and such .. and watching him, you can see that the words behind him do show up at different angles due to that.

  • this is awsome is there anyway i can download this??

  • lol you fucking idiot.

  • so its the coat that makes the camouflage?

  • thats the same guy that made the camouflage effect for Alien VS Predator

  • hmm, i've heard about somethin like this is scientific america or one of those science mags. Pretty much they said something about reflecting meta-metallic objects but thye said that no object can be 100% invisible cuz the meta-metallic will still shine of of light somewhat but they say they can minimize almost all the light and bend it somehow?

i dunno lol, jus my 2 cents

  • Hm...in the first moment I really thought that activCamouflage is real, but at 00:14 you see its not...but anyway, it looks cool and if you use this technology on not moving units, it still may be usefull...

  • I wish that pratts who come on here talking like 'We put this on da back, and da da da' would just grow up. The english language is being murder by this new dumb and arrogant generation. Talk prperly or don't talk at all.

  • Before pulling the splinter from another's eye, pull the plank out of your own. Before you start harping on other people for not typing correctly, figure out how do it yourself. just some friendly advice =)

  • the japps love ghost in the shell and anime, they will make ai, invisibility cloaks, true vr and super advanced robots come true together with like minded people from everywhere

  • I want one of those.

  • guys this only means one thing finally after many years well will be able to enter the girls locker room without them seeing us ha ha ha ha

  • BWAHAHAHAHAH! so true!

  • They should make it into a full suit so hes face wont be shown... on the other hand THIS ROCKS!

  • the original idea was a full suit, he was showing that you can still see his hands, head, tie, etc.

  • If it was a projection wouldn't it be evident on his face and hands as well?

  • well he is casting a huge shadow

  • its just a projection and the guy is just infront of it

  • Metal Gear Solid here we come! XD

  • runisunke is right, it is done with a camera and a projector... not friggin rocket science. mikeroseberry, do some research before you post something that ignorant again.

  • its real. camera on da back project da image to da front

  • Harry Potter's Invisibility Cloak comes into real life!

  • holy shit ive read about this.

  • this vid of course but i've seen te real deal its great but kinda creepy so if you feel someone is behind you it might be someone with active camoflauge so heres my solution start poking at things with a or shoot a gun like a maniac and got to an asylum

  • Its fake! You can even see his coat's shadow!

  • the way they fake it is to get a video feed w/o the guy standing there then playback the video on anything that is a certain hue a green or blue, like the coat he is wearing.

cool trick, but if u know any thing about greenscreen technology u knowe its bs.

  • Real or no?

I say no. If the jacket somehow redirects light from behind it, his face should show up when the arm is in front of it (at about 00:02)

  • They use a camera behind him, them project an image onto his coat. The coat is special because of how it reflects light. That's the trick. It's NOT an "invisibility cloak".

  • I want one of those

  • No its real

  • surly this is blue screen trickery!?

  • its real, some crazy japanese MIT type project

  • i dunno
