Stay away from 1993 mx-6 2.0 and 2.5 me and my Cuzin had them both I had 2.0 he had 2.5 both crapped out there costly car. But if cash is not a problem then go ahead go nuts. I bought my car for 800$ and spent 1800$ on repairs now. Nice cars but costly for the older ones

It's not a rod knock. it's the Hydrolic Lash Adjusters(HLA's). Basocally...it's the lifters. Common problem with the KL motors.

After putting in new head gaskets in my 6 it made that awful sound, I took the manifold/Valve covers back off, spun the HLA's? with my finger and the sound went away...odd
