We saw him last night at The Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City's 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Concert. He plays the 1690 ex-Leopold Auer Stradivarius, which is on extended loan to him from the Chicago Stradivarius society. The piece that impressed me the most and earned a standing ovation for him was Sarate's Zigeunerweisen. Stupendous.
I heard him yesterday in a live concert playing Mendelssohn's concerto for violin and orchestra and he played beautifully. Both like a real virtuoso and a great musician.
Gluzman plays with a wonderful, powerful, and authoritative sound. It is simply fantastic. He does the Barber Concerto also extremely well - beyond words.
Wow. Excellent. Thank you for posting.

'm sorry, but I prefer the interpretation of the violin anne-sophie mutter and conductor Herbert von Karajan

I just got home from seeing Gluzman perform Shostakovich's concerto for violin and orchestra No. 1 in A minor, it was magical, I got his autograph =D

What an intensely emotional, solid, and powerful performance. This really ranks as one of the top interpretations for my tastes.

Gluzman rocks. I heard him fill in for Vadim Repin on the shostakovich concerto with the SF symphony and he was great.

I was there, too, when he filled in for Repin. It was two years ago - and still consider him the best soloist i've heard!
