thank you so much i was practicing a sport while listening to my zune and i broke my lock button while it was on lock so i couldnt do anything but i just opened it now and fixed it i was about to break it trying to open it earlier

The bottom right corner of my 4GB Zune came loose and if you like held it and pushed down you could hear the grey part snap against the black part ...and i slid my fingernail in and the whole thing just opened up on me! i closed it again and it seemed to tighten up but i think its time for a new zune and i have only hyad it for a year in like a week

Try and open it up? Maybe the sensor has weakened. My pad doesn't work apart from the center! Which sucks even more, listening to the same shitty song at the same volume all day! :( If I open it up and get the buttons working I'll let you know, might be worth a try if it's out of warranty.

If you look in the video, he removes the plastic bit first cause the screws are hidden behind it. So I think you need to do the same. Remove the plastic bit where the cable goes and the screws are behind.

dude i figured it out by myself well what you have to do is restart it well hold back and down and hold them for at least 8 seconds until it turns off then there you go it works it worked for me...

no sir, you are an idiot. i really wish fanboys would stop with their spamming crap. i would say ipod and zune are equally easy to open, while since the ipod has a metal case it can be bent and visually look un-attractive. on the other hand since the zune is plastic you can easily chip it. i do believe the thing to worry about is the headphone jack on both the ipod and zune since you can rip it off the mobo if your not careful.

i have seen this happen on both products. personally the zune was given as a gift and to be nice i use it although the 30gb was too small and my 60gb ipod had plenty of room. the zune plays music just like the ipod and its people like you who make me glad i have something different. atleast i am open minded.

no i mean the mini. you pop off each end cap and unscrew the motherboard. and the anodized finish is hard to scratch or dent.

When you popped it off top side by the headphone jack did you loosen the opposite side (i hear you can pull the jack clean off if you're not careful) the reason i ask is because i believe my zunes battery has well and truly died on my and im going to have to take it apart to replace it as i dont live in a country where the zune is openly available :/
