A true K-SHE 95 classic in St. Louis. Remember standing in line at Peaches on Hampton to buy the 8 track in 1979. Great Album cover with the Babe putting the tickets in her abundant cleavage. Gary Kolander would be proud...
I write this in hopes one of my old comrades from the 1st and 3rd Howitzer Battery
(When we were in Ft.Bliss Texas, not the Colorado bunch) see this and respond. Wish I could remember exactly which one of you turned me on to this fantastic band. Howie with the looney-toon tats or Stevie Grant?? Anyway, thanks for posting this great stuff!
Grew up in Akron, Ohio.......This guy was a household name in the midwest way back then......How he never made it huge i'll never know !!!!......Had a really big local fan base......And of course the babes loved him.
a friend posted this on facebook, aint heard Michael Stanley since my teenage years in Ohio, thanks for making this and the memories ! Blessings of peace, love and light, and Merry Christmas !
"The Lord uses the good one's, and bad one's use the Lord." No truer words have ever been said. A favorite of mine since I first heard it in the lobby of Record Factory in San Jose, CA., when it came out. Pumped this tune many a time.
ahhh blossom music center the greatest place to see a concert anywhere lynyrd skynyrd said was the most beautiful place they ever played, imagine that and neil young did his best show ever there but michael stanley owned blossom when they where there i think 26 sold out shows in a row no other band ever did that noke cleveland
"Flaccid cock"..Shouldn't be talking about yourself like that..Another dumb fu-k whose opinion means nothing..Go away ,your mommy is calling..little bitch.
I remember smoking lots of dubies and hanging out at both Agoras (Cleveland) (Painesville) and seeing some great show with my buds @ Willoughby South High School Class of 1979. Them were the dayzzzzzzzzzzzzDon't miss Cleveland as I reside in Hawaii now but miss MSB!
I love this song!!!!!!! I am a youngin 24 yrs ol, but grew up on classic rock & good ass music! Thankx for the post! Ps.. guitartabsworld has the tabs for this song! WOOT!!!!
LORAIN AND ELYRIA, New Years Eve and Mid-Summer Shows-------Blossom sold out 3 in row over and over---Great Seats or the Lawn---God Bless us all and God bless MSB--May we ALL get the show on the road as long as possible
Wow another gret song from a band that just didn't get the recognition it should have gotten. Thanks for posting this. You just took me back 35 years? oh no tell me it isn't true? What did Seager say? Rock and Roll never forgets? and neither do the true Rock and Roll lovers! Beso to you!
've seen them so many times, I've lost count. 20-30? Here's some news......
Johah is doing a show at Tangiers in April recreating the entire Stagepass tour. With Michael's blessing, but I don't think any of the members are in it other than Jonah.
We use to get $1.01 tickets sponsored by the local radio station all the time to see these guys evey chanch we could. Great bar band and overall rock and roll band.
And Michael is as down to earth guy as you'll ever meet.
I always had a grudge against Springstein for becoming so famous when the MSB remained somewhat unpromoted. Their loss was our gain for sure. Thanks MIKE for all the great memories.
My wife saw these guys open for Foreigner in SF back in 1982 and was blown away. I told her I used to see them in Youngstown all the time and it was always a GOOD TIME when you seen them
I saw this band in Oklahoma when they were on the Stagepass tour . Small place called the Boomer that held a couple hundred folks . They played the entire song set from the album and they were fantastic live. Jonah could light that guitar up ! Smoking performance that i'll always remember .
What a great song!! I've never heard this before. I had the Heartland album and played it until it wore out. I've been trying to find an MP3 of Don't Stop the Music off that album, but can't find it anywhere. If anyone has it and can post it, it would be greatly appreciated.
Yep, grew up in Cleveland where they were all over the map there and on the radio pretty much all the time. I remember the concerts by the lake when these guys would show up and fill the entire park.
Getting known out of Cleveland was a known issue for a lot of local bands there in that time. There was the whole bru ha ha about the Rock Hall of fame as I recall.
So we few fans get to enjoy a real rare band from a time long gone but not forgotten!
I'm originally from New Brighton, Pa and I find myself as a 40 something gravitating to all this style of music.. takes me home so to speak.... MSB, ICHR, Donnie Iris, The Clarks...all the Tri State groups...it's a style that you find no where else..
great video! i live in new castle,pa. im 44 and first listened to msb in 1980, also saw them live in 82 at slippery rock college, front row. even touched michaels guitar! thats how close he was playing! most underated muscian ever in our time!
This was one of my favorite songs from that time ... that era. The feeling of that type of rock and roll is still with me, even though it is so old that it is unrecognizable. I(we) would sing about things that are incomprehensible to the youth of today. And the stylized version of instrumental bands that had great vocalists who actually said something that was so common then are gone forever, it seems. I have tried to listen to pop music, as it is today, and find myself unable.
When I was about nine years old, my dad played the crap out of this song. I'll be 41 in two weeks and still find it one the most perfectly balanced songs I've ever heard.
Having lived in Northern Ohio in the late 60's & early 70's MSB was a huge local success story. Let's get the show on the road is perhaps one of my all-time favorite songs ever. The original studio version gives me goosebumps 30+ years later! It took me a couple years to find the mp3.
Although I like the recorded version better, I have to admit that if Stanley had done nothing else he earned his place in rock history, as far as I'm concerned. This is in my top ten best R&R songs, and I'm a Beatles fan and there are ony about 2-3 songs of theirs that I would say are equal or better. marvelous lyrics and music.
A true K-SHE 95 classic in St. Louis. Remember standing in line at Peaches on Hampton to buy the 8 track in 1979. Great Album cover with the Babe putting the tickets in her abundant cleavage. Gary Kolander would be proud...
