  • Fucking sad and overlooked history.

  • orcuangl7 didn't watch the video.

  • The white guy elder, lol.

  • the Taino lived an 'Idyllic ' life ,then spanish traders armed with a mercenary force came to hispaniola in the name of the christian god brought a hellish genocidal future to the Taino.

  • October 12, 1492 one of the most important days in world history, Yankees do not believe that we found all of you, if it were not for this guy yet you would still in the stone age. I brought the culture, Spain respected the hindígenas not like the English.

Certainly not know where it was Columbus, which is known is that he discovered America in the name of Spain. I've put it in your own language (the English) because surely you do not know the language of Cervantes

  • Via Aloyna of RT:

"The Real history of Columbus is a story that you most likely didn't learn about in school. The story of Columbus the slave trader of the Americas, where under his watch, genocide took place, and within 50 years, not a single original native inhabitant could be found on the island of Hispaniola. "

  • Indians used to rip people's hearts out while they were still beating and ate them.

  • @DollaBiIIz That was the Aztects, they were different from the Native Americans in the American land Aztects lived in Central Mexico I think. The Aztects were the one ripping out hearts and getting slaves from other villages. On rhe other hand Native Americans were more nicer nd peacful but dont think they fought they were warriors but anyways yeah its different look up Aztects.

  • @cedric4090 Columbus was never in north america either.

  • @DollaBiIIz Why are you bringing Columbus up we are talking about Aztects not "Columbus was never in north america either."

  • @cedric4090 we are talking about Columbus idiot.

  • @DollaBiIIz No stupid fuck your a idiot we were talking about Aztects cummy cunt

  • @cedric4090 Aztecs. No extra "t".

  • @DollaBiIIz They did not eat the beating hearts that was exaggeration. Europe was also brutal do I need to remind you of Europe's obsession with burning people at the stake. Witches hunts, Jewish, or other people they just didn't like.

Also you are using one extremely brutal Native American tribe and using it to attempt to describe the entire population. The native Americans (overall) were far less brutal and savage then the Europeans.

  • @1426305384950384 WRONG dumb racist. The brutal savage asian tribes killed witches and other people they didn't like. Which European culture ripped someones heart out and ATE THEM every single day. NONE Which European culture used to eat entire tribes resulting in real genocide where tribes were actually wiped out to the point that they don't exist anymore? NONE Asian tribes did all that and more. And they kept hundreds of thousands of skulls as proof.

  • @1426305384950384 I assumed you were referring to the mians or azetc in that comment because some people are under the illusion that they ripped out human hearts and then ate them (the second part is a false exaderation). I have never heard of a European culture ripping out hearts and eating them. If you would tell which culture did that I would appreciate it. Europe did do many cruel things such as there famous witch hunts In addition to a long list of other crimes.

    How is my comment racist?

  • i like columbus

  • columbus did great deeds to haitian people, that's the message i'm getting from this vid. He seems like a great, noteworthy man. If only he was alive in the 20th century, he could have been reagans running mate!

  • Unlike all those crazy Columbus lovers that base their positive portrayals of Columbus on myths and fantasies, thomhartmann bases his negative portrayal of Columbus on historical evidence and first-hand accounts. Good video, we are entering an age when we base our history on facts and not BS, and Columbus being portrayed as a good man is definiteley BS.

  • "Columbus and Other Cannibals" by Jack D. Forbes is a brilliant book. As is "Ishmael" by Daniel Quinn.

  • We should have a Bartolome de Las Casas day!

  • Columbus discovered American bullshit.

  • Again for the people who do not know history. Columbus was sent to help further the trade between Spain and China also prove the world was not flat. Even though that was already proven. He did not discover America he landed on Hatti and people were already there. Plus he thought he landed in China! I dont celebrate this mans day. It is a joke.

  • cuz lot of white people r just ignorant and stupid.thuuuuu

  • Christopher Columbus was one nutty explorer!

  • Columbus was a rat bastard. Why do some people think it is funny to make fun of this, or pretend that they were involved or approve of this.

  • "Columbus was a great american." Reminds me of the anti-health care reform demonstrators whose sings say, "Keep the government out of my Medicare."

  • First, Christopher Columbus was an Italian. Second he landed on Hati, not the U.S. Third there were already people there when he landed, so that really is not a discovery is it? The terror he brought was rape, murder and mass disease. Also he brought along a rodent that was never on that side of the world at that time. Plus also gave the world problems and that was RATS! History is not always happy, and this part of history was one of them.

  • @dmp079 and what did the Spaniards do to the Natives. Did they marry them and treat them like roylty? Just curious.

So the Spaniards didn't kill the Natives? Only Columbus?

    delusional people

  • What a hypocrite. Thom has no compunction about using the power of the state to confiscate the wealth of productive people to pay for the social programs he wants.

  • I love that song. Columbus enslaved some of the native americans he met.

  • we celebrate columbus day because we are an ignorat and violent country.

  • JulsHz-you misspelled "ignorant"...can you spell "irony"?

  • I blame it on my keyboard, my fat thumbs, and the public school system- IT WASN'T MY FAULT!!

    it is pretty funny, though...

  • well, now we are even...I am a teacher.

    :-)

  • we're back to irony- I'm a student...

    :~\

  • The problem with so-called "indiginous" peoples is they are EXTREMELY primitive. What do these people invent? Anything?

  • were all the important elders male?

  • Yes. Their wives were cooking (as they should be).

  • Columbus's initial description of the Indians: "They do not bear arms, and do not know them, for I showed them a sword, they took it by the edge and cut themselves out of ignorance.... They would make fine servants.... With 50 men we could subjugate them all and make them do whatever we want." In 1495, during the Second Voyage, Indians were transported to Spain as slaves, many dying en route. He later said, "Let us in the name of the Holy Trinity go on sending all the slaves that can be sold."

  • Columbus made slaves of the indians he met according to a Native American friend of mine.

  • Is there a part two to this coming? It seems like it cut-off right when Tom was in the middle of a thought.

  • I've been to Haiti... it was a terrible example of what humans can do to the Earth and to themselves

  • It's a terrible example of what primitive blacks can do to the Earth.... get it straight.

  • I remember watching this channel half a year ago when nobody came. I was truly the FIRST.

  • His radio show has been on for years. alva goldbook posted his shows befor this channel.

  • oh, i didn't know...well i was talking about this new one titled after his name. I remembered it had less than 10 views on some videos.

  • My daughter read Smedley Butler for me and put it up on my channel to ' celebrate ' Columbus Day.

  • Manifest Destiny sucks when your the indigenous, but if your an Illiterate white man from the old country, you suddenly become a man of land with enshrined rights.

I wonder how many people who preach limits to Govt are aware how easily Govt can come to your land, throw you off and give it to someone else - or maybe they are all to aware and are scared they may end up like the natives...

  • exploration is fun.

  • Yeah, really worthy of celebrating. :-(((((((

  • Rape murder and plunder, yay.
