Did anybody notice that Big Brown trainer Dutrow was wearing a cap with "TRUMP" on it? Was this at the bidding of one Donald Trump? Anyhow, who got trumped? Never forget that there was one thoroughbred that was actually a scratch from Race 11 that finishes ahead of Big Brown in this race itself. It's the Japanese-trained, Japanese-owned Casino Drive who will likely share much the same fate as Big Brown--but in the Breeder's Cup Classic.
umm nice effort today but i mean it was 100 degrees outside and it wasnt his day but i think it was a great effort i mean look at this horse he gave it all he could the other horses did not race in the preakness and he did so that was a disadvantage for big brown to win 3 races in 5 weeks is extremely hard to do big brown is so cute!! i wanna just kiss him so much but i will resot to fucking ur mom in bed bitch ill kill all ur moms and evry 1 and big brown will be all mine u hear me all mine so!
I saw a photo of Big Brown this week and he looks to powerful for a 3YO. It is rumoured that Big Brown is on steroids as it is legal in some states in the United States. Even if Big Brown does not win the triple crown I believe that come next year he will win the Dubai World Cup and cement his name in United States racing feternities as a better horse than Curlin.
It was just reported(Sat) that Ian McKinlay, the foot specialist who has been treating Big Brown's Quaarter Crack and Abscess, has had to increase the strength of the treatment. After a week of treatment you would normally expect the treatment to be nearing completion, and the foot to be ready for the patch! With Big Browns lifelong foot problems(holding him to only 3 starts before the Derby), you have to question this change in treatment. Is this problem worse than we are being lead to believe?
Even with a quarter crack repair, BigBrown will not be the casualty of quick fractions-trust arrogant trainer Dutrow and K Desormeaux. The "flop" on a racecourse is the stretch. Now Casino Drive should be favored by a hair. For the public relying on "boxing" their bets, this year may hold the most expensive two and a half minutes of their lives, given some experts agreeing quarter crack injury takes six weeks to adequately heal. RIP E Belles
Checkdamic321, I agree that Big Brown is a great horse but comparing him to Secretariat is quite a stretch since IMHO, there is no comparison. Secretariat is the greatest race horse that ever lived. With that being said, I hope the big guy does it but history tells us not to hold our collective breath.

Horses in the US run on drugs, but I would hardly call it "Doping these horses heavily"! There are two legal drugs that most horses run on, Bute short for phenylbutazone is an anti inflamatory, and Lasix which helps to prevent Exersize induced Pulmonary Bleeding. Steroids are also both legal and used in Thoroughbreds, mostly to speed healing of injuries. As for why horses today are not running faster than before, it is twofold. First tracks are deeper today to prevent injuries, and thus slower
That was pretty easy..Don't they take blood samples after each race?..Why would these owners pump anything dangerous into such valueable animals?..Makes no sense, and I don't believe it..These horses are no bigger then the horses that ran 30-40 years ago..They certainly aren't faster..Only TWO horses have broke 2:00 in the Kentucky Derby, and one was in 1973 when Secretariat broke it,and demolished the Belmont record. If they're so pumped up on steroids, why aren't they SHATTERING records nowadays?
Horse racing is a sick sick thing today. You people don't really think these horses are running on natural ability do you? They are all so pumped full of steroids it's not even funny. These steroids age these horses incredibly quick.
So which is it? You are ignorant of the facts or you don't care?
Uhh, you mean like the drug testing at the Olympics fuckface? It's very well known that the trainers are doping these horses heavily. Only the extremely naive or extremely stupid don't understand this. Which one are you? I can tell you my guess if you want.
There is a reason that drug reform is coming. Even drugging them after the race is terrible. It means the horse is in pain.
You may enjoy animals in pain but normal people surely don't.
CONT. the second reason is the change in breeding. Horses are bred today for speed and then trained for the endurance. They call it "stretching out". I believe it has left us with a fragile crop of horses. As for enjoying animals in pain..wouldn't we NOT give them the bute, lasix and steriods if we wanted to see them in pain. Ask an asmatic if they would like to not take thier inhaler? That is a steroid. Ever thrown your back out? Ever had pnemonia? Don't you appreciate the drugs then?
whilst they do get drugs, most of them aren't steriods, they're painkillers or antiinflammatories and junk like that.
racehorse people are super paranoid. a horse coughs once and they'll get the vet in and give them medication. it's not just doping them, it's medication. I think most of it is just paranoid trainers than actual problems. if you've ever worked with racehorses you'd know that they overdo everything, from cold wraps to their feed.
Also enjoy your inability to look at facts objectively. Enjoy being just another member of the societal flock of followers. As long as you enjoy it, that's all that matters isn't it?
Big Brown and trainer Rick Dutrow both apparently swear by the anabolic steroid called Winstrol (according to a Bob Costas interview of Dutrow and as later reported by Richard C. Crepeau). Dutrow admitted to past suspensions for gambling and drugs (like cocaine). Watch this interview at NBC Sports (Horse racing). And don't forget to tune into what has been billed by some experts as Big Brown's last race before horse drug laws change in 2009.
I am always amazed at the "experts" who KNOW who would do this and that, and who would beat who. With all the comments I have seen for this horse and how great he is, or how bad he would do against some other horse, why don't we just back up the truck, take a deep breath and look at reality. There have been two horses that are rated, almost unaminously, by real experts as to who is the best-Man O War, and Secretariat. I will be rooting for Big Brown and hope he is pushed hard in the Belmont.
CASINO DRIVE (2-0-0 lieftime record) and BIG BROWN (5-0-0 lifetime record)
Casino Drive, the Japanese trained, Kentucky born (2005) Chestnut Colt that bested the G2 field on the Belmont track in the Peter Pan in his American debut has shown no regard whatsoever for Grade and Class. Instead, he is the welcomed spoiler in the last leg of the elusive Triple Crown (G1) in a lackluster field. Big Brown's Florida Derby and Preakness numbers won't cut it. Sayanora, Big Brown.
Curlin of course. That's why you won't see Big Brown run after the Belmont Stakes. They're afraid his value will plummet after a few losses against horses like Curlin.
curlin of course! what r u saying? didnt he get beat by a girl in the belmont? yes. and he only won one of the three. The only advantage curlin has is the year of age he has on big brown bcuz horses are faster at four than three. that's it. i'm tired of listening 2 people on these sites talking bad about bb. he has done everything he possibly can. its not his fault the competition is down.
Great question.....4 year olds have an edge over 3 year olds, however, Big Brown is a better 3 year old (at this stage) than Curlin was. Let's all pull for a triple crown winner!
What BigBrown fears most--Of late, CasinoDrive has been the closer after the Mile marker. They break even, but CasinoDrive gets to the 1/2 and 3/4 and 1Mile markers before his rival. To compensate, BB would have to make a move from the 1/4 marker to the 1 Mile marker resulting in a disasterous late fade. By the 1 Mile marker, CD is already 1/10 of a second ahead of rival BB. CD makes a move 1:29.00 into the race. BB finds himself losing after 1 1/8 Miles or 9 furlongs (see FloridaDerby).
Two things to look at when you judge the Greatness of Big Brown...are his wins any more impressive than the charge that Street Sense made in last years Derby?? Last to first, running past everyone like they are standing still. Secondly, before you anoit this horse, remember that Secretariat ran fractions that would have WON many Breeders Cup Sprints, and still carried the speed the mile and a half! Hell, Shams time in the Derby would have been a record, except he finished second!
It is ridiculous to even make the comparison between Big Brown and Big Red. No horse and I mean no horse can compare to what Secretariat accomplished in the manner that he did. I don't care what horse you put in the same sentence as Secretariat they will never match up in hitting the "fractions"
That's exactly the whole point, Big Brown has not had any class horses to run against. This years crop is weak! That does not necessarily mean that Big Brown is not Great, it simply means that we don't have much to judge him by. If he were effortlessly running the same times and fractions that Secretariat was running, I would not have a bit of a problem with anoiting him the next Big Red, but that is not the case, and we will never know for sure because he is hanging it up after the next race
So we need to compare BB to Street Sense, to judge his greatness? LOL. So Street Sense is the horse to which all horses must be judged? Wow. I didn't realize that!!!!!! lol.
LOL, I guess that "gosmarty", simply refers to your favorite horse, and not towards your intellect as to reading the meaning of someone elses words! I never said that Street Sense was a great horse. I just said that his run in the Derby last year was as impressive as Big Browns Derby run. If the two were running in the same race, my money would be on Big Brown. But I wish that Big Brown had Curlin, Rags to Riches, Street Sense and Hard Spun to run against, then we could better judge him!
34DD..??? Must be her IQ! Big Brown is a great horse, but a couple things bother me. First what the heck in Dutrow doing complaining that Prado and Tucker Riley were trying to "box him in"? If he is worrying about his horse being boxed in on the first turn by a horse that finished last, is he really that intelligent of a trainer?? Second, I wish that Big Brown would have been tested in these races. He never broke a sweat against this sub-par group of 3 year olds.
big brown will sweep the triple crown for sure, the jockey just have to watch real quite and smarty jones run in the belmont they ran, jockeys mistakes, don't rush, big browns' jockey should takes his time and wait for the kill.
big brown will sweep the triple crown for sure, the jockey just have to watch real quite and smarty jones run in the belmont they ran, jockeys mistakes, don't rush, big browns' jockey should takes his time and wait for the kill.
Better than Secretariat? Big Brown's Kentucky Derby win was a full 2.4 seconds slower than Secretariat's record win, and his Preakness (admittedly run, or rather cantered, against a poor field) was .4 seconds slower. The chances that he will best Secretariat's time in the Belmont are miniscule considering no horse has done a faster 1.5 miles on dirt in the history of racing. Big Brown is more likely in the league of Sham than Secretariat, but we'll see when he finally faces worthy competition.
Secretariat. Big Brown won the Preakness in 1:58 and Secretariat won it in 1:54. BB has not broken any records, like Secretariat has, or won in the style of Secretariat. Secretariat is in a class all by himself.
I know alot of people are chatting up Casino Drive off his win in the Peter Pan. BBs jockey, Kent Desormeaux, who rode CD in that race, seemed impressed by him. The only way you will see Big Brown challenge any speed record is if another horse breaths down his neck and really makes him run.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I hope all people involved in this "sport" break their ankles. No matter what any of you say in your bulls#%* replies, I am R I G H T . Have fun exploiting animals, jerks. = )
You'll probably watch it on your 42" flat screen, too. Better get some Doritos and an ice cold Budweiser. Oh, and don't forget to wear your Nikes! You're going to die one day, and when you do, nothing will change on our planet. You didn't even spell "Belmont" correctly you I D I O T . Case closed.
34DD like how your stepping up on the moral high ground, when all your videos in your account consist of underage females shaking their ass's in their underwear. Isn't that exploitation? You stupid little man!
For those of you that don't know 34D is as close to "natural" perfection as it gets. Seriously ...perfection.
Just because 34DDs is hot does not mean she's not smart. Besides, you dicks are arguing about doped horses. Gotta go, Mike Vick is calling me collect.
Why is the case closed? I dont get it. We are all going to die one day, whats the big deal?
By the way, your grammar is impeccable.
No Bud for me, a nice Molson Canadian might work though and Doritos do sound nice. Not a big fan of Nike, but I dont wear my shoes when i am in my living room watching T.V anyways.
i dont see Big Brown ever beating Seattle Slew, Smarty Jones, Secratariat, not even my personal half arab Lady Skywalker but her whole arab side is champion racrehorses like *Bask++ EW Sabask and *Sabellina whom lasast the polish tc byc a nose in the last race!
but Smarty Jones was just like Big Brown it was his jockeis fault normally the jockey blows it in the elmont and ive got my doubts about Big Brown i mean hes never gone nearly 2 miles before thus being the distance of the belmont
Big Brown's dosage index is 1.67, Smarty Jones dosage index was 3.40. The lower the number, the better a horse runs at distance. Birdstone's dosage index was 1.77.
Secretariat had a 3.00 Dosage and won at the Belmont by 31 lengths, so the theory doesn't always hold, but Dosage Index is usually a great indicator. (Birdstone proved it)
Big Brown is going to run away with the Belmont Stakes, unless something unforeseen happens. He has the numbers and momentum on his side.
i think hes gonna win, he has awesome stamina, but against casino road? hes a monster! i hope either he beats casino road or casino road gets scratched.
Until Big Brown runs against Curlin I'm not going to pass judgement on him. He could just be the best of a bad bunch. It's sporting tragedy the way they rush the horses off to stud. I think the owners of Big Brown should take a leaf out of Curlin's owners and take him overseas. Sure, winning the Triple Crown is important but if wants to leave a real long lasting legacy then he has to take his show on the road, that means beating Curlin and the European horses..... even on turf
I agree with you that this 3 year old crop sucks but this horse is just a FREAK! Can you imagine if he would have been a 3 yeard old last year... and unless something happens in the race, He will win the belmont.. no doubt... he's not war emblem, or real quiet or even Smarty Jones... This horse is just different.. at the same time I also agree that He's not the best horse yet even if he wins the TC... and he won't be the best horse because i don't see Big Brown ever beating Curlin.
I'm not big in horse racing, but was letting him win by that many lengths worth it? Of course, the horse loves to run, so holding him back is probably tough. And trying to set records and stuff is great and definitely making sure you've got the race won is obvious...but by winning by that much-- will it take some out of him for the Belmont? Will he have enough recovery time to rest and be our TC winner? Great horse though. Very exciting to watch him race. Gives me goosebumps. =]
Although you dont want to use him up unnessecarily, I wonder if they will let the big boy go in the Belmont if they think they can get close to Big Reds record? That might go a ways towards answering the question of just how good-or great-Big Brown really is.
Big brown is what Sham would of been had there been no secratariat cause i matched up all there races and brown is crossing the line when sham did but of course not before the great horse secretariat
lol secratariat would of whooped this horse's ass. I even matched up both there races at the same time and secratariat crossed the line first by at least 1 second.
My next question is "Has any other Triple Crown contender ever been compared to Secretariat as much as Big Brown has?" We are all seeing the same thing, another Tremendous Machine.
Big Brown is the most impressive horse I've seen in the twenty years or so I've watched the Triple Crown races. As someone said, it's impossible to compare time periods, but if anyone can pass judgement, Secretariat's owner would be the one. Big Brown's sprint speed down the stretch is amazing; he doesn't seem to tire. Watch the overhead camera from the Derby; the jockey is almost fighting to hold him back until the stretch. That horse truly wants to run--he can't wait to be unleashed!
Penny Chenery, Secretariat's owner, said she plans to be on hand for the history making try on June 7.
"I don't know whether Secretariat can stay with him or not," she said. "I won't speculate how that would come out, because we haven't seen him at that long a distance. But you have that big sweeping race track. I think he's going to do just fine."
Secretariats owner said thats shes not sure if Scretariat could have run with this horse. We will never know, comparing times is not fair. Big Brown can take off anytime Kent tells him to, after both the Derby, and The Preakness it is obvious that this horse wasnt hardly used. Sure he doesnt have an Alydar, or a Sham, but its not his fault. You can trust me when i say there isnt a better horse alive right now. Big Brown is special, lets just enjoy it.
BIG BROWN!!!!!! he better win the triple crown this year! woo hoo! ever since the 70s no horse has won the triple crown! here comes big brown, taking the best!!!!!
Truthfully, while certainly Big Brown is a good horse - he has to be to have won the first two legs of the Triple Crown - I don't consider him a great horse...& I wouldn't compare him with many of the legends from the past, let alone Secretariat.
Frankly, I think Big Brown's main claim to fame is having the luck to be racing in a year of mediocre three year olds. The Derby was a crap shoot, as many of the contenders would win one race only to get their butts kicked in the next. Time will tell.
I heard they dont race him because of his bad feet. Do you think that will play a role in his offsprings' careers as racehorses, that they might inheritet the same problem?
Belmont? I don't think anyone can out do Secretariat when it comes to the Belmont. XDD I think he'll win though! I'm thinking more along 4-5 lengths though. Then again, who knows, he's a great runner, he could surprise me! :P He reminds me alot of Big Red himself, I've heard many people call him our generation's Secretariat. I must agree. ;P
Youre right no horse will ever be as good or as fast as Secretariat. I shouldnt say never but for now Secretariat was the greatest of all time!!For those that want to dispute that, feel free to email me and I will be glad to adress your debate.
I get chills everytime I see Secretariat run! *o* I especially love watching him accelerate from the back of the pack to the front! The power! Chills I tell you. XD
The feelings are mutual.I still watch the youtube tributes to his triple crown and get chills.Dont get me wrong, there were other greats but not nearly as great as Secretariat. Not even Man O War.
rofl, jkjk, but yes, Secretariat is the greatest racehorse ever! ^_^ I wish they could edit and clean up his racing footage, I'm sure they could with today's technology. That would be amazing to watch. *___*

Dutrow has said he gives all his horses some sort of steroid shot, once a month, sort of like the American track and field team, every year.
Hopefully, Big Brown will not fade out in the final stretch. I doubt he's as fit as Casino Drive, for various reasons.

I do agree with you mcfann, but a new horse from japan i think is suppose to be bigger and stronger just like big brown, so it will be close

it will be intersting , i'm behind brown though/can't wait to see this japanese horse too
xxxmcfannxxx 3 years ago
Two things to look at when you judge the Greatness of Big Brown...are his wins any more impressive than the charge that Street Sense made in last years Derby?? Last to first, running past everyone like they are standing still. Secondly, before you anoit this horse, remember that Secretariat ran fractions that would have WON many Breeders Cup Sprints, and still carried the speed the mile and a half! Hell, Shams time in the Derby would have been a record, except he finished second!
davisondad 3 years ago 2
BB's wins have been effortless. Street Sense's weren't.
gosmarty 3 years ago
And BB isn't hitting the same fractions that Secretariat had, so that must mean that BB stinks? LOL.
gosmarty 3 years ago
It is ridiculous to even make the comparison between Big Brown and Big Red. No horse and I mean no horse can compare to what Secretariat accomplished in the manner that he did. I don't care what horse you put in the same sentence as Secretariat they will never match up in hitting the "fractions"
JerseyRenegade 3 years ago 3
That's exactly the whole point, Big Brown has not had any class horses to run against. This years crop is weak! That does not necessarily mean that Big Brown is not Great, it simply means that we don't have much to judge him by. If he were effortlessly running the same times and fractions that Secretariat was running, I would not have a bit of a problem with anoiting him the next Big Red, but that is not the case, and we will never know for sure because he is hanging it up after the next race
davisondad 3 years ago 2
So we need to compare BB to Street Sense, to judge his greatness? LOL. So Street Sense is the horse to which all horses must be judged? Wow. I didn't realize that!!!!!! lol.
gosmarty 3 years ago
LOL, I guess that "gosmarty", simply refers to your favorite horse, and not towards your intellect as to reading the meaning of someone elses words! I never said that Street Sense was a great horse. I just said that his run in the Derby last year was as impressive as Big Browns Derby run. If the two were running in the same race, my money would be on Big Brown. But I wish that Big Brown had Curlin, Rags to Riches, Street Sense and Hard Spun to run against, then we could better judge him!
davisondad 3 years ago

Big Brown is NOT nor will ever BE as good as
Secretariat. Big Brown won the Preakness in 1:58 and Secretariat won it in 1:54. BB has not broken any records, like Secretariat has, or won in the style of Secretariat. Secretariat is in a class all by himself.

i love it....triple crown for big brown...
another lope to the finish line... i hope

Such an amazing horse he comes from a good family Man o' war and Native Dance. Hes got the blood in him. Triple crown!

You stupid little man!
justabloke24 3 years ago
For those of you that don't know 34D is as close to "natural" perfection as it gets. Seriously ...perfection.
Just because 34DDs is hot does not mean she's not smart. Besides, you dicks are arguing about doped horses. Gotta go, Mike Vick is calling me collect.
maximusmarine 3 years ago
Why is the case closed? I dont get it. We are all going to die one day, whats the big deal?
By the way, your grammar is impeccable.
No Bud for me, a nice Molson Canadian might work though and Doritos do sound nice. Not a big fan of Nike, but I dont wear my shoes when i am in my living room watching T.V anyways.
twopie2 3 years ago
No, you are W R O N G.
Eight Belles took a bad step and broke her ankle you tool. That could've happened at the fucking pasture or anywhere else.
Also, if we didn't "exploit" the animals, there would be NO HORSES AT ALL IN THE WESTERN HEMISPHERE.
Look it up, Native Americans had no horses, the Spanish reintroduced horses to the Western hemisphere when they came for the gold.
Guess what, THEY RODE THE HORSES TOO.
Now go eat some tofu you perverse PETA pawn.

i dont see Big Brown ever beating Seattle Slew, Smarty Jones, Secratariat, not even my personal half arab Lady Skywalker but her whole arab side is champion racrehorses like *Bask++ EW Sabask and *Sabellina whom lasast the polish tc byc a nose in the last race!
ILoveLadySkywalker 3 years ago
but Smarty Jones was just like Big Brown it was his jockeis fault normally the jockey blows it in the elmont and ive got my doubts about Big Brown i mean hes never gone nearly 2 miles before thus being the distance of the belmont
ILoveLadySkywalker 3 years ago
Big Brown's dosage index is 1.67, Smarty Jones dosage index was 3.40. The lower the number, the better a horse runs at distance. Birdstone's dosage index was 1.77.
Secretariat had a 3.00 Dosage and won at the Belmont by 31 lengths, so the theory doesn't always hold, but Dosage Index is usually a great indicator. (Birdstone proved it)
Big Brown is going to run away with the Belmont Stakes, unless something unforeseen happens. He has the numbers and momentum on his side.

Until Big Brown runs against Curlin I'm not going to pass judgement on him. He could just be the best of a bad bunch. It's sporting tragedy the way they rush the horses off to stud. I think the owners of Big Brown should take a leaf out of Curlin's owners and take him overseas. Sure, winning the Triple Crown is important but if wants to leave a real long lasting legacy then he has to take his show on the road, that means beating Curlin and the European horses..... even on turf
denilson200 3 years ago
I agree with you that this 3 year old crop sucks but this horse is just a FREAK! Can you imagine if he would have been a 3 yeard old last year... and unless something happens in the race, He will win the belmont.. no doubt... he's not war emblem, or real quiet or even Smarty Jones... This horse is just different.. at the same time I also agree that He's not the best horse yet even if he wins the TC... and he won't be the best horse because i don't see Big Brown ever beating Curlin.
carpal1977 3 years ago
I'm not big in horse racing, but was letting him win by that many lengths worth it? Of course, the horse loves to run, so holding him back is probably tough. And trying to set records and stuff is great and definitely making sure you've got the race won is obvious...but by winning by that much-- will it take some out of him for the Belmont? Will he have enough recovery time to rest and be our TC winner? Great horse though. Very exciting to watch him race. Gives me goosebumps. =]
sloany11 3 years ago
Although you dont want to use him up unnessecarily, I wonder if they will let the big boy go in the Belmont if they think they can get close to Big Reds record? That might go a ways towards answering the question of just how good-or great-Big Brown really is.
all66books 3 years ago
Big brown is what Sham would of been had there been no secratariat cause i matched up all there races and brown is crossing the line when sham did but of course not before the great horse secretariat
CincyDude 3 years ago
lol secratariat would of whooped this horse's ass. I even matched up both there races at the same time and secratariat crossed the line first by at least 1 second.
CincyDude 3 years ago
My next question is "Has any other Triple Crown contender ever been compared to Secretariat as much as Big Brown has?" We are all seeing the same thing, another Tremendous Machine.
flyingryan12 3 years ago
Big Brown is the most impressive horse I've seen in the twenty years or so I've watched the Triple Crown races. As someone said, it's impossible to compare time periods, but if anyone can pass judgement, Secretariat's owner would be the one. Big Brown's sprint speed down the stretch is amazing; he doesn't seem to tire. Watch the overhead camera from the Derby; the jockey is almost fighting to hold him back until the stretch. That horse truly wants to run--he can't wait to be unleashed!
natebarlow 3 years ago
here is Secretariats owners comments.
I think he's going to do just fine."
flyingryan12 3 years ago
Secretariats owner said thats shes not sure if Scretariat could have run with this horse. We will never know, comparing times is not fair. Big Brown can take off anytime Kent tells him to, after both the Derby, and The Preakness it is obvious that this horse wasnt hardly used. Sure he doesnt have an Alydar, or a Sham, but its not his fault. You can trust me when i say there isnt a better horse alive right now. Big Brown is special, lets just enjoy it.
flyingryan12 3 years ago
My hunch is that she's trying to be diplomatic. Big Brown hasn't done anything to make anyone forget Secretariat or Seattle Slew or Affirmed.

BIG BROWN!!!!!! he better win the triple crown this year! woo hoo! ever since the 70s no horse has won the triple crown! here comes big brown, taking the best!!!!!
mingorules1 3 years ago
Truthfully, while certainly Big Brown is a good horse - he has to be to have won the first two legs of the Triple Crown - I don't consider him a great horse...& I wouldn't compare him with many of the legends from the past, let alone Secretariat.
Frankly, I think Big Brown's main claim to fame is having the luck to be racing in a year of mediocre three year olds. The Derby was a crap shoot, as many of the contenders would win one race only to get their butts kicked in the next. Time will tell.
oshginva 3 years ago
I think Big Brown is as good as Secretariat or atleast close, he would of EASILY had the Preakness record time had Desourmaux not pulled up on him.
Anyway, watch how Big Brown won the Derby, he has got an unbelievable sprint.
alexwilsonNC 3 years ago
It saddens me that we wont see him run as a 4Y O.

I know. Too bad! We can always look forward for his bloodlines.

I heard they dont race him because of his bad feet. Do you think that will play a role in his offsprings' careers as racehorses, that they might inheritet the same problem?
WhiteDragoon68 3 years ago
Im with you. Big Brown is great, but he is no Big Red!
Flubbo625 3 years ago 2
He's a great horse, but better then Secretariat? I don't think so. I'm biased though, so whatever. XD
animexobsessed 3 years ago
Just watch 3 weeks from now! He'll CRUSH the field by at least 7 lengths!
checkdamic321 3 years ago
I must agree. ;P
animexobsessed 3 years ago

JerseyRenegade 3 years ago
Marry me! XDDDD
rofl, jkjk, but yes, Secretariat is the greatest racehorse ever! ^_^ I wish they could edit and clean up his racing footage, I'm sure they could with today's technology. That would be amazing to watch. *___*
animexobsessed 3 years ago
What is it that you are looking for when you say clean up hos footage?I am curious because there are few good clean copies of Big Reds races.
JerseyRenegade 3 years ago
Clearer details, colors fixed up, less blurry, things like that. Although, the blurriness could simply be credited to how people upload the footage..
