I can see that Nuada and Nuala care about each other and I can see where they are coming from with the incestuous coupling, they seem to come from a 'pureblood' lineage, i just wish we could have seen more of their relationship aside from them being 'brother' and 'sister'.
The incestuous potential of Nuada and his sister is in perfect keeping with Arthurian myth, especially in reference to Mordred. He was the child of a incestuous relationship, and had incestuous leanings toward Guinevere, even if they weren't blood related.

*sigh, man i freaken love luke goss. but its kind of disappointing to not see him in some high budget movies. honestly, i think Prince Nuada was THE BEST role he's ever assumed. but Blood Out and tekken and many others are a great disappointment. I kind of wish his talent would be recognized more and he'll take more fitting roles in BETTER movies. His best movies in my opinion is Nuada, Jared, and Xerxes. Just my two cent.
This video is incredibly beautiful - and so are Nuada and Nuala. I had not seen the movie until I saw this video, but the video actually made me watch the movie today. I have to say, I did not like the movie so much. Nuada (and to some extent Nuala) were the only characters I loved and could really relate to. But just to see Nuada, it was worth to watch the whole movie. What a pity he died.

The actors WERE going for an incestuous love relationship. But it was very subtle. Some people can pick up on it. Some don't. Trust me, they definitely have a beautiful setup for an intense romance, but to me, they lacked that one crucial element: chemistry.
You know, I'm a lover of hopeless romances. If there is a possibiltiy for a romance, even difficult or wrong, I'm usually all for it. And I have read that there were suppose to be incestuous undertones between Nuada and Nuala. However, try as I might, I can't picture Nuala and Nuada as a 'couple'. It isn't because of their blood relations (its hollywood, and I have other incest couples that I like-that sounds horrible :P) but I didn't really feel that chemistry between them.
Oh yeah, totally a matter of interpretation. I didn't feel it at all. I felt that in that "risquée" scene he was touching her heart, esp. since he was in fact speaking of her heart. The actors said that they were aiming for a bit of twincest, but I didn't feel it at all, prob.thanks to GDT's magic touch n_n

I could really sense the dependancy that Nuada had for Nuala. But as it goes for romance, I'm just feeling that Nuada is not the type to be romantic in any sense. He's an all business type of guy. But the look on Nuala's face of bittersweet sadness when he touches her cheek speaks some of a deep bond between the two of them. I doubt Nuala loved anyone more than her brother and vice versa.

The Elves had accepted the role of humans in the world and were willing to let the earth and themselves die. I saw Nuada as an Elf who refused to be silent-- he would not go quietly into the night. I was saddened by his death. The "heroes" in this story are not exactly ideal heroes and their victory felt a little hallow in the end. IMO.

The incestuous potential of Nuada and his sister is in perfect keeping with Arthurian myth, especially in reference to Mordred. He was the child of a incestuous relationship, and had incestuous leanings toward Guinevere, even if they weren't blood related.

*sigh, man i freaken love luke goss. but its kind of disappointing to not see him in some high budget movies. honestly, i think Prince Nuada was THE BEST role he's ever assumed. but Blood Out and tekken and many others are a great disappointment. I kind of wish his talent would be recognized more and he'll take more fitting roles in BETTER movies. His best movies in my opinion is Nuada, Jared, and Xerxes. Just my two cent.

This video is incredibly beautiful - and so are Nuada and Nuala. I had not seen the movie until I saw this video, but the video actually made me watch the movie today. I have to say, I did not like the movie so much. Nuada (and to some extent Nuala) were the only characters I loved and could really relate to. But just to see Nuada, it was worth to watch the whole movie. What a pity he died.
Thanks for making this wonderful vido, I have been watching it almost continously all day.

First saw Luke Goss when he played The Creature in that miniseries Frankenstein.. he's absolutely and completely amazing! And this is the third movie I've seen that he plays a character that's an outsider. He's so beautiful.. *sigh*

The actors WERE going for an incestuous love relationship. But it was very subtle. Some people can pick up on it. Some don't. Trust me, they definitely have a beautiful setup for an intense romance, but to me, they lacked that one crucial element: chemistry.

You know, I'm a lover of hopeless romances. If there is a possibiltiy for a romance, even difficult or wrong, I'm usually all for it. And I have read that there were suppose to be incestuous undertones between Nuada and Nuala. However, try as I might, I can't picture Nuala and Nuada as a 'couple'. It isn't because of their blood relations (its hollywood, and I have other incest couples that I like-that sounds horrible :P) but I didn't really feel that chemistry between them.

Oh yeah, totally a matter of interpretation. I didn't feel it at all. I felt that in that "risquée" scene he was touching her heart, esp. since he was in fact speaking of her heart. The actors said that they were aiming for a bit of twincest, but I didn't feel it at all, prob.thanks to GDT's magic touch n_n

@OhMightyWeirdOne I actually picked up on it the first time I saw this movie. More on his part than on hers. I didn't realize that it was done on purpose though. I just figured the actor was trying to be "less human" and that's how I was reading it.

I could really sense the dependancy that Nuada had for Nuala. But as it goes for romance, I'm just feeling that Nuada is not the type to be romantic in any sense. He's an all business type of guy. But the look on Nuala's face of bittersweet sadness when he touches her cheek speaks some of a deep bond between the two of them. I doubt Nuala loved anyone more than her brother and vice versa.

@KawaiiTeaParty I never saw him as a villain either. I may not agree 100% with his tactics, but I would probably side with him most of the time. The Elves had accepted the role of humans in the world and were willing to let the earth and themselves die. I saw Nuada as an Elf who refused to be silent-- he would not go quietly into the night. I was saddened by his death. The "heroes" in this story are not exactly ideal heroes and their victory felt a little hallow in the end. IMO.
