Weird that this sounds awesome played on a real set. I hated how Arloff would play this and the Adore tunes on a real set. When Jimmy came back he used an electric set for those songs and it sounded better, but this song actually sounds cool with a real set. Was this song originally played on a real set? Sounds really drum machine-y.
This song is amazing. To me it lays out the basics of an important point in everyones life: Teenhood. How he says "We don't even care", "They're not sure just what we have in store", or "We were sure we'd never see an end to it all." All these lines describe to me how when you're 14 or 16, you really dont know what you'll become, and you just don't want it to end.
Wow. How cool. He kept the song simple, the way it USED to be played live. Very nice. I was very surprised since he also didn't change the vocal melodies too much either.
I'd say that's him trying to take it easy and retain his voice more so. I mean heck, the guy's been singing for long time lol. Could be his voice gaining revenge on him for always giving 100% in earlier concerts.
Can you blame him, he's been singin for almost twenty years, even when the pumpkins disbanded he had zwan. He's also been playing these songs for years, he won't find them as entertaining as he used to and his age, at this concert he was 40, he's getting older now.
It would sound that way, huh? I actually think its because his backup singers have no vocal tone variation. So where he tries to show expression, it just gets drowned out and sounds weak.
I'm glad he's keeping this one simple with the new band, I think the song sounds alot better without too much extra stuff cough... adore era 4 drummers and 2 keyboardists cough... hahaha rock on Billy!

I don't think so. The studio version is done completely with a drum machine as far as I know.
Also, during the MACHINA shows, they would play this using a drum machine...

@silverfuck77jpm
there is drum machine at the start, but real drums do come in towards the end.
