  • Is that Nassau Coliseum? I don't recognize it, because there aren't any empty seats. By the look of this video...you'd think the Islanders have fans. And poor Kirk McLean, losing the Stanley Cup Finals to both New York City franchises.

  • @ECWnWWF At about 12 seconds Bob Cole says they're at the nassau coliseum and thats brodeur not kirk mclean

  • kirk mclean didn't lose to both new york teams cause he was still 6 years away from becoming an nhl goalkeeper in 1982.

  • @dzanier what do you expect from someone with a name like "ECWnWWF"

  • What a shot....

  • Quickest hands, EVER!

  • did the puck got INTO the goal ?

  • This is not a goal!!! We got robbed... In game 1... Still would have lost the series anyways.

  • @acurarsxtypes who says its not a goal?? the goal judge? the ref? Brodeur? Snepts? You? oh wait, it was you! NO GOAL!!! Play on, everyone outta retirement so we can continue this game!

  • It went in. Believe me. It just happened to come out real fast. It hit that part of the netting in the top of the net on level with the crossbar. That's why the puck reacts like that. It never hit the back of the net, but it doesn't have to. At 1:54 seconds of this clip it's pretty evident.

  • It was a goal. ust look at the2:20 mark. The puck hits the back of the net's twining, not the top of it, & that means the WHOLE puck went in. That's proof it was a goal even if the top of the twining is enough for it to be a goal. You're entitled to your opinion but it's based on something that's blatantly not true. Why do you need to believe in something that isn't true? Your assertion that the puck didn't go in is tantamount to someone insisting it's raining out even if the sun is shining.

  • Dude, the back of the net moved. It was in. Look at the reaction of the goaltender, and the rest of the vancouver players.

  • Dang Bossy was quick on that release. Great shot!! I bet that defenseman still has nightmares about throwing the puck in front of his own net!!

  • I don't think I've ever seen a player release a shot as quickly as Bossy did here. It's so fast it's incredible. He goes from backhand to forehand to shooting in a second. This was a dart.

  • OMG Brodeur is one pissed off goalie.

  • Seriously, is someone questioning if it was a goal after 28 years?? LOL! This is vintage Bossy, with the quick snap shot. He had amazing hands and such a quick shot! Outside of Gretzky, Bossy was the most dangerous goal scorer in NHL history!!

  • All of you morons who are still arguing about the Overtime Goal? WHO GIVES A SHIT! After a few clanks, if any of you have at least 20/20 Vision, you would see that The Puck landed on the Goal Side of the Red Line, which makes it a Goal!

If the Puck bounced away from the Goal Vancouver Fans, you would have a Point. BUT IT DIDN'T! It dropped down flat on the Ice with a good 80% of the Puck inside the Goal. As long as the Puck crosses The Goal Line, it's a Goal!

  • @Jiltedin2007 I just want to mention that 80% of the puck inside the goal doesn't qualify as a goal.

  • @DIALUPSPEED

Does it have to cross completely? Like 100% of the Puck?

  • @Jiltedin2007 Yes.

  • @DIALUPSPEED Fine, I will look up the NHL ruling of a Legitimate Goal.

  • @DIALUPSPEED

Yeah, according to official NHL rules the puck has to complete cross over the red line.

  • @gumballthechewy I hope you didn't actually have to look that up!

  • @DIALUPSPEED

Nope, but that other guy probably did. Trying to save him some embarrassment.

  • I just watched it again, and it's clear that the hanging, center portion of the net jumps when the puck hits the underside of the net. Ever play hockey? That doesn't happen when you hit the crossbar, especially with a relatively slow, deflected shot.

    Case closed. It's a GOAL.

  • Wrong! The puck bounced off the right post and hit the underside of the net, BEHIND the crossbar, which makes the shot a goal.

  • Wrong!! Watch closely at 2:20... the portion of the net behind the crossbar DOES NOT RISE when the puck goes up. The shot hits the right post, then goes up TO HIT THE CROSSBAR, then falls to the ice ON the red line without crossing it! It's incredible!

  • Why didn't anyone say no goal then.... I agree with tubage07.

  • @tjackson76

If you look, BACK on the net moves. Not the roof under the crossbar. It's a goal, Jesus Christ!

  • @IslesFanLuke10 Of course its a goal, amazing shot!

  • Pearle Vision Center is calling your name. The puck clearly hits the underside of the net. YOU can see it's not a goal, but Bossy (who immediately raises his arms), the goal judge (who immediately rules it a goal) and the goalie (who turns his head in time to see the puck go in four feet from his eyes, and is immediately deflated) got it wrong?

  • You're not serious are you?

  • @dzanier Oops... I really have to go on record and apologize here: I watched it again and I realized that i was not looking at the right protion of the net. I was looking at the flat, "horizontal" piece of net that's at the top of the goal. That never budged. However, as... tubage07, I believe?... mentioned, the central, "hanging" portion of the net does indeed move. No doubt about it: it's a goal. My apologies.

  • No problem.

  • This is absolutely unbelievable... watch closely... THAT PUCK NEVER WENT IN!!!

  • A player like Snepsts wouldn't even be in the lineup during the playoffs today.

  • sure he would. he'd be doing his usual cheap shots and hitting from behind, just like todays players.

  • Canucks goalie goes nuts. Awesome!

  • Bossy was too smart, that pass was dangerous!!

    Nice quality, thanks.

  • That shot was absolutely perfect. That's all the room he had. The quickness with which he went from intercepting it on his backhand, putting it to his forehand and then snapping it is so lightning quick it's almost unreal.

  • awesome! keep em coming!
