Mike, the only reason I said Maya is surperior is because you said " I can't think of anything that the bigger programs can do that after effects can't" wrong. I have to use Maya to make 4D models of a character for a film or video game. After Effects can't do that.

Don't get me wrong I love after effects, but It can't do everything...

I would have thought it was obvious that when I referred to the "bigger programs," I meant bigger compositing programs. Obviously AE can't make 3D models (I don't know what a 4D model is). You can't easily write a screenplay in After Effects either, that doesn't make Final Draft "superior." You pick the right tool for the right job.

That being said, since this time the compositing program Nuke advanced significantly, and I would say that for large scale compositing, Nuke now far surpasses AE.

I love your movies guys, ive watched them a few times each and I really enjoy them. Only thing that grinds my gears is this. If you two can make sure a great quality finished product, how come Lucas arts cant greenlight a Star Wars show? Granted it would cost more, but Lucas Arts has money. They should consult with you guys. Show them how to save money, Lucas used to know how to do that.

seriously if you guys have a passport theres some very nice open places, where you could shoot an rvd 3, as well as maybe get 20-30 voluneteers and get a large scale fight going in backround while you guys are fighting in shot. then send it to george lucas and tell him your interested in making a short film to start. like a preview. you never know, besides you could always do jedi acdemy or something, i believe mark hamill is still alive there alteast we have luke xD

The reason why he has something to do with it is cause the creator which is someone else asked him to sort of give them an idea on how to make the series make sense so it can fit in to the Star Wars universe correctly. If they didn't call Lucas then they would have screwed up even more.

dont use fx home i got vision lab and it was ok it was easy to use but it was very limitted and the exported video quality was awful then i got adobe after effects and it was just sooo amazing. it does take a little longer to learn how to use but it does so much more
