Try An albert alphonso drum...in my mind, the blonder is the best calf skin boudran around. The red is up there with the best goat skins....JOhn JO is great!

the best skin you can get is goat and get a bodghran maker to set the back bone line in the middle you get 2 differant beats

It really doesn't matter that much what bodhran John Joe is playing - he'll make a 20 quid one sound better than most people will a £200 one!
