his live performance I recently caught at M&Toi was much much much better than this record. I kinda like the lyrics of this song. Pure Vietnamese language. Easy for others to understand. Not so dramatic --> Believable story. Don't expect every song composers to have TCS's style. They are artists, they can do whatever they want. It seems as if you aren't aware of the fact that this isn't his song. This is in fact a song by one of the most - if not the most - succesful composers in Vietnam - Duy Manh. So I only think there are very few couple of people who feel as you. I belong to the group who disagrees with you and enjoys both Tuan Hung and Duy Manh's music alot.

My criticism wasn't aimed at Tuan Hung for I knew the song is from Duy Manh and I know who he is. But success is only on way (though the easiest way) to measure someone's talent and it depends on more factors besides talent. I agree his songs are loved and adored by many youths and I'm not criticising your and others' taste. I am just criticising from the language perspective. Only time will test how good a piece of art work will be.

dude trinh cong son's music is 'nhac vang', it is completely diffent type of music from this which is 'nhac tre'. It has nothing to do with this song. U must be deaf or have hearing problems to even talk about trinh cong son vs duy manh.

I think you should try to get other's point clearly first before throwing your response. You sound like you're so music knowlegable and I'm like an idiot can't tell the difference between the two. My point is: listen to the TCS's songs and see the beauty of the Viet language expressed thru his songs which are real pieces of arts work. Duy Manh's lyrics doesn't make much sense and even have serious gramatical errors. I put the two of them just to make clear the contrast.

I don't criticise Nhac Tre from the music point of view. It's just the lyrics that annoy me and those who has a love for the Vietnames language. I wouldn't expect them to be poetic or anywhere near it, but at least make some good sense and don't sound insulting to the listeners.

It's the use of language like that that devalues the language itself. I'm sure if they can compose tunes like that they must have a better way to put words together. It's just that they don't bother, or too busy making money to make an effort.

Trinh Cong Son songs are deep and not very easy to comprehend. I loved his songs, Dam Vinh Hung seemed like the only who could or at least has the potential to perform TCS songs. Speaking of real musics, Trinh Cong Son's musics are way up there. Duy Manh and Trinh Con Son are to writers at different level and intelligence.

Yes, it is true.  Given the facts that TCS and Khanh Ly were lovers back then, and the KL is the only one who could perform TCS's songs because it is a legend already. But nowadays, KL's gotten older, much older and she should let the younger generation to do the job.
