Great video but my nephew the marine would take umbrage with being called a soldier. I guess, this is for the troops might have been preferable but great effort at raising awareness in any event. We cannot do enough to thank our heroic and selfless troops. God Bless them all.

frankz it is operation iraqi freedom not the war against iraqi we did not declare war against a country we are after the terrorist groups that had run those countrys

If a country (america) goes to war with another country (iraq, afghanistan) that councty signes a declaration of war. America didn't do this, they just went in. This is against international law. Therefore a soldier has the right to disobey the orders given to him. That is why i do NOT support the soldiers over in iraq. I hope some new soldiers who read this look it up and do not go to was in iraq or all those countries around it. Because it is illegal. and it might save your life.
we may be fighting against terrorist and insurgents in iraq and afghanistan but were not at war with iraq or afghanistan..heck the iraqi soldiers are helping us
Hitler and his staff, in 1923. From left to right... Maurice, Hitler, Graft, wagner, Bush and Julius Weber. From the book Adolf hitler ...pg # 24. Something I read. Why is Buch there?
hey im in the army if you are reading this do me a favor and sign! we need your help to keep you safe! obama is going to cut military funding HELP US OUT! PLEASE
arguing online is like running in the special olympics even if you win you are retarded. For my brothers still out in Iraq while the rest of america surfs the net to criticize us, God Bless the soldier. Until you have seen the horrors of war then can you put your input. Hooah.

The film is excellent. But the army shouldnt make so many civilians, mainly children, die and be mutilated both physically and psycologically. Untill we, who send the soldiers, try to solve problems by bombing, there will be no peace, but mourn. Violence has never brought peace in history, exept the one of death. Ghandi, beginning alone, won against an empire! We should improve our moral authority and our cultural and diplomatic level. Fr. Marco Valentini

I respect your opinion. I'm not against fighting. A good friend of mine (policeman) killed some mafia guys. He's a hero, not those who shoot and bomb anybody all the time. Don Marco Valentini
wtf. our army doesnt shoot or bomb anyone. We have some of the most stirct military rules in the world. dont shot till your shot at, leave no man behind dead or alive. Many die saving a dead body. My brother is in the army he been to iraq twice and never has shot at a iraqian. and he is on patrol which is one of the most dangerous roles there. so dont talk about something you dont know about.
wow thansk lizzy that was a awesome video my hubby is currently serving over seas on a 15 month tour but i thought ur video was outstanding. mlleonthemooon bitch u dont know shit the soldiers dont kill innnoccent people get your fucking facts stra8 they kill an if there parents strip a bomb on there kid to kill the soldiers then we have no chioce so my husband is fighting for your freedom its people like u that i HATE MY HUSBAND IS EVEN FIGHTING for so bitch go Kill yourself immeditaly

Are youuu fucking kidding me, those soldiers are killing innocent people, innocent children who did no harm to anyone, innocent mothers, sisters, fathers
Damn it wake up worlld look around youu
look whats going on in ghazaa, it sss tooooo mucch .
Ps: I know that those soldiers are innocent too, but whule one soldider of yours die, hundreths of innocent iraquian and palestinien die And it's nooot fair
"Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity."
American armed services are the...protectors of our nation, I guess you could say. It should not matter whether you are for or against what they do over seas. These men in women joined the services knowing that they may one day have to up there lives on the line for us. You should respect that, no matter what.
You realize mileonthemoon how many times afghans have killed their own with roadside bombs, etc right? The reason that I support the troops isn't because I agree with the war, it's because they are our own people. The ones who believe in what they are fighting for see innocent people die by their own. They see the way the innocent over there are treated and are there to try to help stop it. Innocent people die on both sides in a war. It's not fair, but it happens. Lets just hope it ends soon
as a soldier who is in Iraq right now, i can tell you that you couldnt be more wrong. but you are right about one thing, innocent people are dieing. but not by coalition forces, by their own. is that fair? as a soldier that allows you to say stupid stuff like this, your welcome. everyone else, thank you for your support.
@mlleonthemoon hey go fuck yourself, as i recall on september 11 over 3000 innocent people were killed by your terrorist or what about ft hood shooting if the taliban could they would kill all of us...but guess what mother fucker they will die first so you better figure out which side of the playing field your on, i can put a bullet in your head as easy as i have in my past tours to iraq and afghanistan!
@mlleonthemoon Fuck you. You terrorists attacked us, we are getting retribution and fighting back so innocent Americans (yes Americans are innocent, not just palestinians and iraqis) don't get attacked again like on 9/11!

post tramatic stress.. i think the people in afghanistan whose children have no limbs or pain killers may need a little more help than stress and psychological problems from dropping bombs on villages.
@hsatt66 yah dude u sound like a fucking idiot..these soldiers have to do that and are killed or almost killed on a daily basis, get a life u tree humping hill billy hippy
@hsatt66 Note, it's the IED placed by the Insurgents that indiscriminately kills and maims Civilians. Not the 1000 lb Precision JDAM drop that was planned weeks before to minimize casualties. It's the Insurgent who fires wildly at US Troops who hit Civilians because they can care less about aiming, Not the US Soldier or Marine who is trained to deliberately aim at their targets to take them down with efficiency and precision.
It is not us who harms civilians by choice, it's those we're fighting
My step-brother is over right now fighting. He is in the Air Force. And he is a good pilot. I just hope and pray every day that he will come home alive. Soon my half brother will go and fight. He is in the Army. I just want them to come home safely.
i would like to thank you lizzy, my brother is a Marine and currently serving in Iraq, he loves Drowning Pool.. i would also like to thank Drowning Pool and everyone else that goes and preforms and supports the troops.. you have no idea how much it means to them.. also i tried getting on the website.. it didnt work.. if you could help me out a little, maybe i typed something in wrong.. again thank you so much..
Good for you Lizzy! My cousin has been serving in Afghanistan, before that Iraq. He volunteered 3 times and he volunteered after his helicopter taking him out was bombed and 9 died. He was part of the ABC story. I am not for the war,,but I am for what my cuz did defending America and keeping us free. I will always back him and the U.S.A.
I am not even American but my bf is and fought in Iraq for 10 long months. I am proud of him, although I hate war and I do not like the US war policy. BUT I KNOW he went there for good and he HELPED.
And I don't care how many people hate him and me... I love him. And I support every soldier over there.
i was texting him a week before he left and he said that he is sure he won't be shipped off to war. He is extremely over-protective of me so he probaly didn't want me to worry. He's 17 and too young to die. He'll be 18 in March.
What an awesome video..the funny thing is that Drowning Pool was one of my GO OUT OF THE WIRE songs that I listened to EVERY time I left on mission. I have been back for a year now and head back in two months...I am ready and willing. Thanks Lizzy GOD BLESS
i came out of the war years ago and i gess i forgot to bring my arm back now im missing a arm and i am going to try to make a differince! whos with me!
lets try a little something called google. all you have to do is type "john mccain's record with vets". now... have fun. here's a sample of the truth awaiting your discovery.
He scored a "D" while Obama scored a "B" from the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, the largest Iraq veteran non-partisan group in the United States. Hey, I didn't make this stuff up. Its just fact.
Get mad at the vets doing their research and keeping record if you don't like it.
Yes I will do this, for the soldiers, for my 3 nephews who have served, continue to serve and been there and back more than once....PTSD had one leave early:( I will do anything for our men and women, go to this amazing web site and do it for our SOLDIERS! HOOAH! Thank you Lizzy Palmer
Are you with the 1-506 101st out of Ft. Campbell, KY? Are you part of the Band of Brothers by Mike Fumento? my nephew Zach Pentek was, PTSD early release:( Great job, you are with me in spirit, heart and prayers, Thank you 101 airborne24, I owe you my life.
Actually no, I just joined up with them. Thank you so much for your support, it's good to know we have people like you there for us, we owe you guys. Best of luck to your nephew. God Bless. HOOAH!
you know, the very people who diss our soldiers and the war would be the first to demand action if we had stood by on 9/11 and did nothing if the war was in central park and the homes being blown up were our own. Hard to bad mouth your own country when living in a foxhole. so easy when hangin' at the club or spa. if it is so bad here, spend a year in iraq. express your freedom there and see how far you get
I can show anyone of you a photo of two dead soldiers you don't know, and none of you would be able to tell me who was the better person. You might say who cares, but that's my point.
I guess I just don't understand your point here...maybe you're just a bit ignorant in some matters. You know the old saying...if you don't know what you're talking about don't open your mouth and remove all doubt...maybe you should stick to critiquing America's Favorite Home Videos.
Speedster--You're a fucking idiot. You don't know any of us, and we don't want you making half-assed attempts of justifying your ingorance by trying to stand up for us. I am a Vet, and don't need some bleeding heart dick like you trying to relate your misguided views with servicemembers. If you knew any soldiers, you might have the respect to keep us out of your little movement. Many of us fought so that little pussies like you don't have to face reality. We are the sheepdogs.
speedster356 In this small town you visited that had pictures of soldiers who only finished high school and none were children of corporate executives or senators. How many children in this small town had parents that were congressmen or corporate executives?
Speedster, show me evidence that America has 'taken' one barrel of oil from Iraq. No. They sell their oil on the market, not hand it over to us.
as to that 'one million iraqis' death toll, it's more like 60,000, and almost every single one was killed by Islamic fundamentalist terrorists. We hold our fire to SAVE iraqis. THEY kill Iraqis on PURPOSE.
Speedster, you're wrong about everything. SHUT UP. Grow up. Think for yourself, for God's sake.
uh...i could show you much evidence to the contrary. read the book "Armed Madhouse" by Greg Palast & check out this headline in the Guardian Unlimited Monday June 30 2008:
'British and US companies win Iraq oil contracts'
"The Iraqi government is to award a series of key oil contracts to British and US companies later today, fuelling criticism that the Iraq war was largely about oil.
The successful companies are expected to include Shell, BP, Exxon Mobil, Chevron and Total."
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Your don't have to sell any Iraqi oil to make a profit. You invade a soverign nation and take 30% of the worlds oil supply off the market. The oil contracts are now signed Exxon Mobil, BP getting nobid contracts. I guess you believe in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny as well. I wont break the bad news to you about that.
John McCain has a son in Iraq right now. Likewise Duncan Hunter. There are plenty of sons of congress serving in combat roles, and sons of rich people too. Rich people know something you don't, Speedster. They know that their good lives are because of the greatness of AMerica and that it must be defended.
Surveys have been done that show a higher family income in military than in general public, also a higher academic achievement.
WASHINGTON (CNN) — Rep. pres candidate John McCain...got a rousing reception Wednesday when he told a private gathering of House Republican congressman that his son Jimmy — whose Marine unit had been deployed to Iraq — had arrived home safely.
and Duncan Hunter's son is not only home and safe but he's also running for Congress
defend us but don't do it at the expense of our & another country's rights & lives just to make rich men richer. your govt only cares about you when they need you.
I went to the Post Office yesterday in a small town. There was a wall decorated with the pictures of young men and women who are serving or had served in Iraq. There were also a few obituraries attached to the photos. I read some of the obituaries and noticed these men and women had one thing in common. None of them were privledged kids they were all from working class families and most had only completed high school. None were the sons or daughters of senators or corporate executives.
rupert and his cronies must be reading these comments...who else but supporters of these rich, power hungry corporate puppeteers would give this and your other comment about "faux news" a 'thumbs down'?
some can't handle the truth...and/or can't handle the fact that some of us not only know it, but are helping others know it too.

I support the troops, but I cannot support this illegal war for oil. The video is very warm and fuzzy, and nicely done. I guess FAUX news is starting their shills out young. I bet most of you people don't even know about Dennis Kucinich's Judiciary hearing yesterday. The media did not report much about it. This administration has killed over 4,000 soldiers to date. As well as over 1 million Iraqui Citizens why not make a warm and fuzzy video about that. How many Iraquis attacked the WTC? Zero
Man this video is for the troops, not anyone else, so keep your Propoganda bull shit out of here please. This video isn't about politics, its about being a good person, so please do us all a favor and go bug someone else.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! or when will it be for you?
don't bury your head in the sand, don't turn away, don't pretend it's not happening. an ENTIRE generation is being wiped out either physically or mentally, not to mention the CHILDREN that have to grow up without a father or a family or that have to deal with the person that USED to be daddy. i have refrained from commenting here for a while, but how are we any 'safer' when now we have to look out for our own disturbed soldiers? END THIS WAR!!!
um, my dad served, i'm closer to him now than i was before... he's not going crazy, yeah war sucks and some people see more than others but you are way over inflating this issue, my uncle has served like 3 or 4 tours and he's still as normal as ever... and he is close to his family
but unfortunately i am not exagerating when it comes to the number of soldiers that ARE affected in detrimental ways. which of course has the domino effect of affecting the families, friends, and the rest of these veterans lives. there are many accounts of vets having difficulty adjusting to civilian life. their suicide rate, their violent crimes, their domestic violence all rising. plus lack of proper treatment for PTSD is a major problem for MANY vets.
hmmm, why is that? brave young & not so young men and women that have served our country and risked their lives following a madman's orders, and our government makes them wait for treatment? some are lucky to even get treatment and like i said, many get inadequate treatment...meanwhile families and lives are being destroyed at a record pace with no end in sight while WE pay over $700 MILLION a DAY on this war. do you think just MAYBE our government has their priorities just a LITTLE screwed up?
Let not your heart be troubled, and thank your father and uncle for thier service. I am a Vet too, and yes, it can be hard, but thanks to families like yours, the sheep can go about their day. You, son, are just as much a patriot as your father and uncle, because you stood by them and shared in the sacrifice. Thank you. My son, too, has had to deal with the same things you are seeing, and I thank the Lord everyday for having such a blessing.
"They found Dwyer lying on his back, his clothes soiled with urine and feces. Scattered on the floor around him were dozens of spent cans of Dust-Off, a refrigerant-based aerosol normally used to clean electrical equipment.
Dwyer told police Lt. Mike Wilson he'd been "huffing" the aerosol.
"Help me, please!" the former Army medic begged Wilson. "I'm dying. Help me. I can't breathe.""
LOL...codepink...coo coo! They are so crazy I have had liberal friends say that want no association with them and are the kind of group that would make you switch party. Their going to take them away haha to the funny farm where life is beautiful all the time!
This is one of the things that makes this country so great...we can all speak our minds no matter how different our thoughts. I am a military wife, my husband joined after 911 & we both knew he would be going to war. He has and will go again...this is our sacrifice and we DON"T hate Bush!
MY dad has been in Kuwait and has made two trips to Iraq and many other Forts in the u.s Because of this war I Barely Know him.I don't like Bush and i blame him and Chenny. And now my sister wants to be a marine i have nothing against that, Hooray!,but i don't want to lose her.I don't support the war but i give all my support to the TROOPS!I do have a message to the troops(Stay safe anf you have all my support!COME HOME SOON WERE ALL PRAYING FOR YA'LL!
"men who adopt the profession of arms submit their own fee will to a law of perpetual constraint. From the moment they become soldiers, they reject the right to live where they want, say what they think, and dress how they like" ..."they cease to be masters of their own fate.On the word of command they must rise, run, march, endure bad weather and go without food or sleep...if the drop dead and their ashes scattered
yeah but what they don't tell you is, when you stand down from an order, they line you up and shoot you and claim you as a victim of some other reason, such as IED. You're in a war, you think you can just walk away? lol go enlist then ship out and tell me how simple it was to just quit and go home lol.
When the Taliban blew up the Budhist statues at Bamiyan they declared war on the rest of the world. They and their ilk are the forces of ignorance and darkness. Be grateful you were born in a free country - most people aren't. You might think Bush sucks but at least he was appointed and will be removed by the will of the people. All war is illegal. They still happen. Law is only relevant to those who obey them. Our men and women at the sharp end need our support. They've got mine.
bush was neither "appointed" nor elected. "Law is only relevant to those who obey them" what do you think "law" means to dubya when he so often acts like he's above it?
i am NOT against the soldiers. i merely question their choice to continue in a war that was begun under false pretenses. i question the choice to blindly follow orders while so many suffer including them and their families, not to mention the people that will be affected upon their return by the severe PTSD that will accompany them. for how can you as a rational human being not be affected knowing men are getting richer while you and others suffer? the end does not justify the means. choose LIFE
Yes there is a lot of hype and political battle behind this. But the main thing is please support the MEN and WOMEN who are fighting, not the reasons. You can hate the war, but dont hate the people fighting it. They are doing the jobs they were given. They are like us but instead of filing papers they patrol streets. Please dont wave around the political hypes to show how bad it is, just support the troops, not the war.
FACT, we are borrowing from china to pay for this war. FACT, less than 30% of americans support this war or this 'president'. they aren't 'like me' and i don't 'file papers' i help create LIFE, and i know that even if i had taken an oath to 'serve', and then been ordered to fight, that upon carrying out my duties i found out i was fighting an illegal war i would have to stand down from those orders. i support defense of the innocent not the killing of them. i support free will, justice, & life.
The qoutes u have are a prime example of the biased source. For example
"this would be much easier if this were a dictatorship...as long as i'm the dictator."
was a joke bush made during his meeting with congressional leaders. This is the true thing he said
"I told all four that there were going to be some times where we don't agree with each other. But that's OK. If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator."
Also the thing about Bush controlling everything is wrong, do you actually know how much power the president has, not nearly as much as we think. If he was truly breaking 750 laws he would have been impeached a long time ago. Not only that the war needs funding, and the one who provides the ok for funding is Congress. Without Congresses approval this war we have would have disappeared a long time ago based on insignificant fundings.
like i said, all you have to do is research it for yourself. i don't ask anyone to believe what i say at face value, my main intention is for people to open their eyes and not believe everything the government tells you, because most of the time it's just not true. will i be wrong sometimes, probably, but the odds that i'm completely wrong are slim for even in myth there still lies some truth. FACT, there were no WMD. FACT over 4000 US and 100,000 iraqi's have died in this war. FACT, PTSD.
Ok i have checked out your sources and im sorry to say, they just are not credible. A site made by an individual with the tittle Bush and the war crimes is not credible. Right from the bat it is completely biased, not only that it was created by an individual who could put down any load of bull he/she wanted. Anyone can make someone looks bad, its easy. A credible source is an unbiased, source that states the facts, not stories.
i didn't say that was my ONLY source, but of course you would go there and then tell me "it's not credible" as do most people that disagree with what i'm saying. doesn't make it any less true. in your eyes and a few like yours dubya can do no wrong. why don't you suggust to me a 'credible' source, because one of mine comes right from the whitehouse.
"I did three tours in Iraq including the invasion. At first I believed the lies that were told to Americans... it wasn't till I saw what we were doing to the Iraqi people and saw the humanity of the Iraqis that I saw how completely WRONG the whole thing was... after that my eyes really opened to all sorts of lies we were (and are) told and illegal and unconstitutional things we were made to do. I'm now fighting to bring all of that to an end."
i have many sources, i could share a few of them with you but i'm sure if you google any of what i've written you will get several possibilities of links to information that will back my words. which statement were you curious about in particular?
"this would be much easier if this were a dictatorship...as long as i'm the dictator."
"do not fight for a dying regime; it is not worth your life."
WASHINGTON - The number of troops with new cases of post-traumatic stress disorder jumped by roughly 50 percent in 2007 amid the military buildup in Iraq and increased violence there and in Afghanistan.
Records show roughly 40,000 troops have been diagnosed with the illness, also known as PTSD, since 2003. Officials believe that many more are likely keeping their illness a secret.
Kellee Twiggs said the decorated Marine would still be alive if the military had given him enough help.
"All this violent behavior, him killing his brother, that was not my husband. If the PTSD would have been handled in a correct manner, none of this would have happened," she said in a telephone interview from Stafford, Va.
"These boys and girls coming back, they need help, things need to be changed, and they don't need to be made to feel weak for asking for help," she said.
Staff Sgt. Travis N. "T-Bo" Twiggs had been through four tours in Iraq, one in Afghanistan and months of therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder in which he said he was on up to 12 different medications.
He and his brother carjacked a vehicle on Monday at Grand Canyon Nat. Park. As tribal police and Border Patrol agents closed in, Twiggs, 36, apparently fatally shot his 38-year-old brother, Willard J. "Will" Twiggs, then killed himself..."
"We just want our lives back," said a college student who gave her name only as Nada. "We want to eat, buy clothes, get proper education and breathe pure air. No thanks to Americans for their effort to bring us democracy that killed half of us by their bombs and is now apparently killing the other half by starvation. Can you pass this message to the American people for us?"
"In 1962, the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff unanimously proposed state-sponsored acts of terrorism on American soil, AGAINST American citizens. The head of every branch of the U.S. armed forces gave written approval to sink U.S. ships, shoot down hijacked American planes, and gun down and bomb civilians on the streets of Washington, D.C., and Miami."
i suggest before some of you make such angry comments about my views on this subject merely because i am not a veteran, try watching some of the other videos by
JustA11en. i am not suggesting that he and i see 'eye to eye' on every issue, but maybe you'll take the words of a soldier more 'seriously' than those of a civilian.
i also suggest the vid here on youtube called, "barracks for charlie" created by a father of one of the soldiers.
"Marines ignore Taliban cash crop to not upset Afghan locals
The Taliban, whose fighters are exchanging daily fire with the Marines in Garmser, derives up to $100 million a year from the poppy harvest by taxing farmers and charging safe passage fees - money that will buy weapons for use against U.S., NATO and Afghan troops."
if only it didn't buy bullets too...
this war is a catch-22, it can not be 'won'.
all it means is that more people will suffer for oil, money, and drugs.
who could possibly justify a good reason for war anyway? the reason that we, as soldiers, have such commitment, whatever the cause, is the principal that if we are ever to overcome 'evil' we must stand up for 'good', and for people who cannot stand up for themselves.
War is never what it seems on the surface. it is about principals, and about stronger men giving a helping hand to those who are suffering because of evil.
profound words, and they would be even more powerful if they applied in this case. are there 'good' reasons for war, sadly...yes, if the goal is to actually liberate a nation. that is NOT the reason for this war even if it was added to the operation's name.
what order(s) would you NOT obey? where do you draw the line between duty and your own conscience and morality? bush is a greater evil than saddam ever was, because he 'justifys' his 'reasons' with lies and in 'gods' name. "principles"? ha
*correction...the word 'liberation' was actually REMOVED from the operation's name. this war used to be called "operation iraqi liberation" or 'OIL' for short. it has obviously been changed...but the reasons are still the same...
Drowning pool has such special songs.. they've made "let the bodies hit the floor" then this one.. So they support the troops killing the terrorists, yay.
isn't that what this war is all about? why else would we be sending our beloved fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, etc. etc. etc. into battle to at worst get killed and at best suffer PTSD if not for our 'safety'? isn't that what your CIC is always talking about?
no its disgraceful cause you only see them as fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters when see fit! On other days you call them killers and war hungry fools! And you mock them by saying "i feel so much safer dont you?". You can say that but what do you do for a living that is so important? And makes you better than the men and women making the ultimate sacrafice day in and day out?
like i said before... its not us level headed people taking the red pill.... Its people like you with your far stretched theorys and falsified facts that seem to be taking that little red pill...
if you need "convincing" then you are out of touch with reality, living in denial, and part of the problem.
the point here isn't to argue, it is to enlighten and put an end to the suffering. it doesn't matter who started it, what matters is that someone has to have the balls to stop it.
do you think the millions of children that die each year due 2 lack of food, water and basic medical care give a rat's ass about 'terrorists' and if they are 'safe' enough?
Then stop talking and do something about it! Thats why i enlisted in the Army. I believe that the war is important to our future as country and for the world as a whole. So shut up and do something for what you care about! Thats why i dont need convincing buddy: i made a choice to serve what i best believe in.
and THAT is why i don't 'serve'. i do what i feel is the right thing 2 do, as i'm sure many of you do too.
i just know that in 20 years, when i look back on what I did 'for the world', i know i won't have any regrets. if you can look inside yourself and honestly think you'll feel the same, then do your thing baby.
i just happen 2 believe the words "war" and "important 2 our future & for the world as a whole" in the same sentence is slightly contradictive and illogical, but that's just me.
You walk the hochimin trail unknowingly, every perspective changes.

You just don`t belong in irak, they don`t need your so called freedom.
Go home you sick hungry bastards, try to see how it feels to work the land and feed your family, that`s what a real man does.
Everyone holding a gun thinks is something like a big dick with two balls. You`re pathetic and nothing to do with your founding fathers.
Burn in hell.

I really wish i could live in whatever fantasy world you tend to find yourself in.
It must be nice to be in the land of unicorns and rainbows (bullshit).
It's people unwilling to fight that ultimately make the inevitable conflict multiple times worse than it could have been. Welcome to reality.

JDlavender 3 years ago
You realize mileonthemoon how many times afghans have killed their own with roadside bombs, etc right? The reason that I support the troops isn't because I agree with the war, it's because they are our own people. The ones who believe in what they are fighting for see innocent people die by their own. They see the way the innocent over there are treated and are there to try to help stop it. Innocent people die on both sides in a war. It's not fair, but it happens. Lets just hope it ends soon
sorryusernameunavail 3 years ago
as a soldier who is in Iraq right now, i can tell you that you couldnt be more wrong. but you are right about one thing, innocent people are dieing. but not by coalition forces, by their own. is that fair? as a soldier that allows you to say stupid stuff like this, your welcome. everyone else, thank you for your support.

Speedster, show me evidence that America has 'taken' one barrel of oil from Iraq. No. They sell their oil on the market, not hand it over to us.
as to that 'one million iraqis' death toll, it's more like 60,000, and almost every single one was killed by Islamic fundamentalist terrorists. We hold our fire to SAVE iraqis. THEY kill Iraqis on PURPOSE.
Speedster, you're wrong about everything. SHUT UP. Grow up. Think for yourself, for God's sake.
daveperk 3 years ago
uh...i could show you much evidence to the contrary. read the book "Armed Madhouse" by Greg Palast & check out this headline in the Guardian Unlimited Monday June 30 2008:
'British and US companies win Iraq oil contracts'
"The Iraqi government is to award a series of key oil contracts to British and US companies later today, fuelling criticism that the Iraq war was largely about oil.
The successful companies are expected to include Shell, BP, Exxon Mobil, Chevron and Total."

Your don't have to sell any Iraqi oil to make a profit. You invade a soverign nation and take 30% of the worlds oil supply off the market.
Soldiers are our best, not our must hopeless.

None were the sons or daughters of senators or corporate executives.

consider yourself extremely lucky.
but unfortunately i am not exagerating when it comes to the number of soldiers that ARE affected in detrimental ways. which of course has the domino effect of affecting the families, friends, and the rest of these veterans lives. there are many accounts of vets having difficulty adjusting to civilian life. their suicide rate, their violent crimes, their domestic violence all rising. plus lack of proper treatment for PTSD is a major problem for MANY vets.
flashoftruth 3 years ago
maybe, i can't say for sure, but i can say i know the medical treatment for soldiers involves alot of waiting
Motocrosser14 3 years ago
hmmm, why is that? brave young & not so young men and women that have served our country and risked their lives following a madman's orders, and our government makes them wait for treatment? some are lucky to even get treatment and like i said, many get inadequate treatment...meanwhile families and lives are being destroyed at a record pace with no end in sight while WE pay over $700 MILLION a DAY on this war. do you think just MAYBE our government has their priorities just a LITTLE screwed up?

Soldier in famous photo never defeated 'demons'
"They found Dwyer lying on his back, his clothes soiled with urine and feces. Scattered on the floor around him were dozens of spent cans of Dust-Off, a refrigerant-based aerosol normally used to clean electrical equipment.
Dwyer told police Lt. Mike Wilson he'd been "huffing" the aerosol.

Larrikins1 3 years ago
bush was neither "appointed" nor elected. "Law is only relevant to those who obey them" what do you think "law" means to dubya when he so often acts like he's above it?
flashandshan 3 years ago
i am NOT against the soldiers. i merely question their choice to continue in a war that was begun under false pretenses. i question the choice to blindly follow orders while so many suffer including them and their families, not to mention the people that will be affected upon their return by the severe PTSD that will accompany them. for how can you as a rational human being not be affected knowing men are getting richer while you and others suffer? the end does not justify the means. choose LIFE
flashandshan 3 years ago
Yes there is a lot of hype and political battle behind this. But the main thing is please support the MEN and WOMEN who are fighting, not the reasons. You can hate the war, but dont hate the people fighting it. They are doing the jobs they were given. They are like us but instead of filing papers they patrol streets. Please dont wave around the political hypes to show how bad it is, just support the troops, not the war.
redsakkat 3 years ago
FACT, we are borrowing from china to pay for this war. FACT, less than 30% of americans support this war or this 'president'. they aren't 'like me' and i don't 'file papers' i help create LIFE, and i know that even if i had taken an oath to 'serve', and then been ordered to fight, that upon carrying out my duties i found out i was fighting an illegal war i would have to stand down from those orders. i support defense of the innocent not the killing of them. i support free will, justice, & life.

was a joke bush made during his meeting with congressional leaders. This is the true thing he said
"I told all four that there were going to be some times where we don't agree with each other. But that's OK. If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator."
redsakkat 3 years ago
thanks for clearing that up, it's a great 'joke'.
flashandshan 3 years ago

FACT, PTSD.
flashandshan 3 years ago
Ok i have checked out your sources and im sorry to say, they just are not credible. A site made by an individual with the tittle Bush and the war crimes is not credible. Right from the bat it is completely biased, not only that it was created by an individual who could put down any load of bull he/she wanted. Anyone can make someone looks bad, its easy. A credible source is an unbiased, source that states the facts, not stories.
redsakkat 3 years ago
i didn't say that was my ONLY source, but of course you would go there and then tell me "it's not credible" as do most people that disagree with what i'm saying. doesn't make it any less true. in your eyes and a few like yours dubya can do no wrong. why don't you suggust to me a 'credible' source, because one of mine comes right from the whitehouse.

May i ask where you got this information?
redsakkat 3 years ago
i have many sources, i could share a few of them with you but i'm sure if you google any of what i've written you will get several possibilities of links to information that will back my words. which statement were you curious about in particular?
"this would be much easier if this were a dictatorship...as long as i'm the dictator."
"do not fight for a dying regime; it is not worth your life."

Wartime PTSD cases jumped roughly 50 pct. in 2007
WASHINGTON - The number of troops with new cases of post-traumatic stress disorder jumped by roughly 50 percent in 2007 amid the military buildup in Iraq and increased violence there and in Afghanistan.

"Marine kills brother then himself...
Staff Sgt.
"Will" Twiggs, then killed himself..."

what do iraqi's think of the occupation?
"We just want our lives back," said a college student who gave her name only as Nada. "We want to eat, buy clothes, get proper education and breathe pure air. No thanks to Americans for their effort to bring us democracy that killed half of us by their bombs and is now apparently killing the other half by starvation. Can you pass this message to the American people for us?"

"In 1962, the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff unanimously proposed state-sponsored acts of terrorism on American soil, AGAINST American citizens. The head of every branch of the U.S. armed forces gave written approval to sink U.S. ships, shoot down hijacked American planes, and gun down and bomb civilians on the streets of Washington, D.C., and Miami."
so, who's the 'enemy' again?

i suggest before some of you make such angry comments about my views on this subject merely because i am not a veteran, try watching some of the other videos by
JustA11en. i am not suggesting that he and i see 'eye to eye' on every issue, but maybe you'll take the words of a soldier more 'seriously' than those of a civilian.
i also suggest the vid here on youtube called, "barracks for charlie" created by a father of one of the soldiers.

For those who fought for it, freedom has a flavor the protected can never know
davidepugh 3 years ago
what kind of "flavor" is knowing you are fighting to make other men richer?
if this war was truly about our freedom (and our 'president' wasn't such a lying prick), i'd be behind you 110%
i question how so many can still be so committed.
how many know why we are REALLY there? and if you do know, how can you keep fighting?
flashandshan 3 years ago
who could possibly justify a good reason for war anyway? the reason that we, as soldiers, have such commitment, whatever the cause, is the principal that if we are ever to overcome 'evil' we must stand up for 'good', and for people who cannot stand up for themselves.
War is never what it seems on the surface. it is about principals, and about stronger men giving a helping hand to those who are suffering because of evil.
Zav13r 3 years ago
profound words, and they would be even more powerful if they applied in this case. are there 'good' reasons for war, sadly...yes, if the goal is to actually liberate a nation. that is NOT the reason for this war even if it was added to the operation's name.
what order(s) would you NOT obey? where do you draw the line between duty and your own conscience and morality? bush is a greater evil than saddam ever was, because he 'justifys' his 'reasons' with lies and in 'gods' name. "principles"? ha
flashandshan 3 years ago
*correction...the word 'liberation' was actually REMOVED from the operation's name. this war used to be called "operation iraqi liberation" or 'OIL' for short. it has obviously been changed...but the reasons are still the same...

i feel so much safer don't you?
flashandshan 3 years ago
that is such a disgraceful thing to say cause you should feel safer. They're being shot at and hit with road side bombs not you.
davidepugh 3 years ago
how is this statement 'disgraceful'?
isn't that what this war is all about? why else would we be sending our beloved fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, etc. etc. etc. into battle to at worst get killed and at best suffer PTSD if not for our 'safety'? isn't that what your CIC is always talking about?
what other reason would you be fighting for?
flashandshan 3 years ago
no its disgraceful cause you only see them as fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters when see fit! On other days you call them killers and war hungry fools! And you mock them by saying "i feel so much safer dont you?". You can say that but what do you do for a living that is so important? And makes you better than the men and women making the ultimate sacrafice day in and day out?
davidepugh 3 years ago
i'm saying no one is better than anyone else except in the manner you treat your fellow man.
our soldiers are fighting a war under false pretences. they and the american people were lied to, with 9/11 and this war
that and with the way many soldiers are treated after returning from battle should make any person question their 'loyalty' to our government
when i mock with the word 'safer', i direct it to dubya, he is no kind of 'commander' i would want 2 follow.
take the red pill...
flashandshan 3 years ago
like i said before... its not us level headed people taking the red pill.... Its people like you with your far stretched theorys and falsified facts that seem to be taking that little red pill...
davidepugh 3 years ago
which "falsified" facts and "far stretched theories" are you referring to? if you choose not to want to see the truth that is YOUR choice.
do you even understand what 'taking the red pill' means?
people that are doing something they know is wrong find many ways to 'justify' their actions.
if you think this is being "level headed", then it shows you live in a different world than reality.
flashandshan 3 years ago
Im done arguing with you. But go ahead and keep trying to convince yourself that your right! Best of luck with that.
davidepugh 3 years ago
fine, dodge the questions...
if you need "convincing" then you are out of touch with reality, living in denial, and part of the problem.
the point here isn't to argue, it is to enlighten and put an end to the suffering. it doesn't matter who started it, what matters is that someone has to have the balls to stop it.
do you think the millions of children that die each year due 2 lack of food, water and basic medical care give a rat's ass about 'terrorists' and if they are 'safe' enough?
flashandshan 3 years ago
Then stop talking and do something about it! Thats why i enlisted in the Army. I believe that the war is important to our future as country and for the world as a whole. So shut up and do something for what you care about! Thats why i dont need convincing buddy: i made a choice to serve what i best believe in.
davidepugh 3 years ago
and THAT is why i don't 'serve'. i do what i feel is the right thing 2 do, as i'm sure many of you do too.
i just know that in 20 years, when i look back on what I did 'for the world', i know i won't have any regrets. if you can look inside yourself and honestly think you'll feel the same, then do your thing baby.
i just happen 2 believe the words "war" and "important 2 our future & for the world as a whole" in the same sentence is slightly contradictive and illogical, but that's just me.

would it make you feel better if we actually did "stand in front of them"? or isn't there enough death happening to satisfy you?
