  • I cant watch this damn video without falling asleep -.-

  • Great shooting archer's,

  • What the fuck thats at my school

  • w pse!!

  • this makes compound shooting look so sterile...anal...

  • ew compound

  • whats the point of turning your wrist like a retard after you shoot.. it obviously wont do anything to the arrow.

  • The hand that holds the bow is not gripping the riser (aids in accuracy by avoiding tension) so when the arrow is released the bow falls forward naturally. The hand that pulls the bow string back twists so that the back of the hand is against the jaw line which forms an anchor point for consistent shooting (depending on the release device being used).

  • @gixer912 the archer lets the bow jumps out of the hand numbnuts. Thus gravity takes over.

  • yeah i got the answer from wrinkle66 dipshit..

  • @gixer912 then dont be a dumbass, stupid ass mother fucker. i was just telling you cause you asked.

  • @babylukiee your answer was a piece of shit anyway with your little baby d

  • it's to absorb all the energy left from shooting the arrow.. so your hand doesn't tire easily.. wow.. you're ignorant.

  • Get a real bow. Stick and a string.

  • i agree all the sights and cams is like cheating

  • Great Video !

  • 0:56

why do you need a stabilizer that big

  • lol at 0:56!!!

So when do we get to see some 6' long stabilizers? =D

  • k i have never used a compound bow before, all i have used is a simple fibreglass recurve bow that i own.I have a questiopn about the compound bow:what is that big rod sticking out of the front of the bow for?

  • I think its a quiver for arrows.

  • it's a stabalizer

it balences the bow & absorbs some of the vibrations after the bow is fired

  • compund bows look shiny, but takes little to NO skill, i know im gunna get flamed like hell for this, but really now think about it, compunds do ALL fo the work for you

    `nicholaxxx

  • i agree with you, long bows, short bows and recurve all the way for me

  • Müsste sogar der gleiche Nick sein.

  • Hi.

  • Yepp.

Ich schieße beim BSC Iserlohn mit einem Martin Compound. Seltener auch mal mit nem Hoyt.

  • Du bist nicht zufällig im BogenSportForum oder??

  • Hello, I am instructor for ITFAS (Irish Tradition Field Archery Society) Just wanted say I like your video. I don't shoot a compound myself, but it looks very well done. Can you tell me what song is playing in the background? Thanks, -Daniel

  • Hi Daniel, the song Joanni from Kate Bush.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • wow! that is a really big stabilizer on the red bow the womans holding!

  • i'v got the same lenght of beiter stabo i think

  • As a JOAD instructor and a competition shooter to boot. I can assure you that the stabilizers they are using are all exactly right. They let the bow go forward because this stops bow torque. They all have relatively good form and high tech modern bows. I shoot a Hoyt for competition but my hunting bow does NOT have the huge stabilizer on it just the normal hunting one. But both bows will kill just as quickly.

  • Thank you for nice answer! But you can you please tell me what JOAD is???

    Thanks

  • JOAD is Junior Olympic Archery Development league. We train children age 6 to 18 to become olympic archers with recurve bows. We also offer instructions for the compound bow archers of the same ages.

  • idk what you're talking about "relatively" good form by relative i assume you mean decent. their form is textbook

  • why do they tip the bow down at the end of every shot?

  • it's because if your bow doesn't drop like that, your squeezing it too hard. It should naturally drop forward like that if your hand is correct. To ShootingShadow666, about their stabilizers being too long. Those are competition bows not hunting bows so the more stable they are the more accurate, however in the field those are not practical for obvious reasons, also shooting styles vary from person to person so there is no 1 correct way, especially from hunter to competetive shooter. :-)

  • oh, thanks

  • It is great to see videos like this!!! A nice change from watching people flicking arrows like they don't know how to aim. To these, at less give themselfs a chance to win.

    I like all bows :o).

  • damn... cant see something like that, not everyone but some people in there got bows, first they dont fit (too long stabilisation etc)

    their shooting style

    oh gee thats really pitifull

the old woman in this video is probably more better than all of them together because she does everything correct

    (i'm self archer)

  • yes you can do also that too. right! seems to be a nice bow.

look. I respect every archer, if he is shooting a self made bow, a recurve, a compound or whatever else and so you should also do. i suggest.

  • Who cares bout buying bows when u can make em yerself

  • why can´t you people respect each ohter??

somebody wants to shoot a self made long bow and others want to shoot a compound or recurve

  • don't u think the bow are a bit ooverr done??

  • i dont unterstand what you mean

  • Maby, Little too high tech? Not sure too many add ons? counter wights?

  • Now i understand what you mean, but look at the top archers in the compound or recurve style in the fita or ifaa classes, mostly freestyle unlimited in ifaa. There you see that most of them are shooting their bows like this. and all these high tech things how you call it, make it easier to aim and hit the x or kill in 3d.

  • Oh i know that, Im just making it easier to understand what he was saying,

  • These are old women and young girl, string set at loserrrrrr weight, that is 35lb.

  • Don´t talk like that about the ladies.

The older one is two times vize european champion of the ifaa and holds some other titles too. So what did you say?????

  • it's not6 the bow and arrow, its the indian...might be

  • you can get a 400 dollar bow and do fine as well its about how well you shoot not always about the bow. If you practice enough with any one bow you can be good

  • It shouldn't cost that much, if u want a compound you can get a decent one for between 750 and 1000 if you dont get a top of line sight and rest.

  • what's up with the music?

  • how much are those kind of bows?

  • if u want a Compound bow u have to pay about 1200 Euro or 1750 US, Dollars

    thats approximately

  • eh ill stick with the ordinary 1s im good with those

  • not on amazon

  • i wonder how many pounds they are set on??????

  • each person would have their own setting

  • check amazon they hav GREAT ones going for around 300

  • buying archery equipment on amazon is the stupidest thing ive ever heard. altservices (dot) biz is the best imo, although you have to ship from england.

  • uhmm...my compound bow works wonders..so i dont know wtf u talking about. dont talk shit when u dont know. amazon is just a site that works as a place for OTHER companies to put their products there to sell jackass. amazon itself doesnt sell u the bow. ur the stupidest thing ive heard of sand crab

  • almost droped his own bow there

  • i prefere a bare recurve personally

  • that was a coolvid but u should show the target

  • ha i love the females bow's draw weight is like 30 pounds and the male's are like 50-60..its the dominant species what can you do right? :) yeah

  • Oh no boy, our ladies draw weight is about 40-45 pound and all the man draw 60 pound. There are only less pounds for the kids or the beginners.

  • use your fucking cheater bow. plain recurves with no attachments are what take real talent.

  • Did you hear something about tolerance? Every archer can use the bow he wants and so let hin do. OK?

  • your right i have arecurve and i dont have anything for it and thats how recurves shouldbe

  • fucking this kind of bows

  • i dont like compound bows very much even though they are stronger i like recurve much more.

  • Yeah, I shoot compound, but that's because I couldn't shoot recurve. But you can get further with a recurve.

But in 2010 compound is being introduced into the commonwealth games.

  • well we both have the same opinion

  • kate bush backing track.. kool..

  • wat ever happended to the old wooden bow

  • thats what im sayn, my friend wants a compound because its easier to pull back

  • A compound is only easy to hold once you get it in to the "Valley" or at full-draw, other wise they can be freaking hard to pull back.

You and your friend OBVIOUSLY haven't even touched a compound.

You have to get the string over the cams, which is hard. SPECIALLY if you have what is called "Camand a half" it's like drawing blood from stone the first time you pull the bow back.

  • There are also some archers in our club shooting a wooden bow, without sight or anything else.

  • Von Nachhalten haltet Ihr nicht so viel woll?

  • So what's the reasoning behind letting the bow swing down after each release?

Is a limp wrist more accurate?

  • if you tense your hand when you release, you will twist the bow, which influences the arrows trajectory. If you grip the bow when you draw, you will not grip it the same way each time, so the most consistent way of holding the bow, is with a relaxed or limp wrist and hand.

  • I hold the bow between the join of my thumb and index finger.

Then when I shoot the bow drops on its own accord, like it's trying to jump out of my hand.

  • whose the artist to that song?

  • How far are they shooting they don't look like they are shooting far.

  • It´s just indoor shooting on 18 meter. Outdoor we shoot till 90 meters.

  • why dont they use there damn hands to pull the fucking arrow back... "moommyy iiit huurrrrts"

  • I take it you havnt ever fired a compound bow before? If you have then you would know that 95% of compound bows are set so there pound weight is more then what a normal person can pull with just there fingers, with a release aid it uses all their hand to pull the string back.

So their isnt anything about pain but how powerful you want your arrow to hit its target =P

  • No it doesn´t heart, it´s just more accurate to use a release aid. Try it and we´ll talk again.

  • compound is cheep

  • om yeah they are but they are fun to shoot.

  • Why don't you target people just put a broadhead on the end of the stabilizer and stab the target to death? What distance are you shooting at.... 2 yds?

  • Because we don´t hunt. Also it´s just indoor archery. Outdoor we shoot at bigger distances.

  • i'm shooting compound now for almost a half year and i did my first compition yesterday..it was fantastic!!! Compound rocks!!!

  • speaking of bows im gonna get one.

  • WOW amazing the German people can shoot with a trigger! amazing! Wouldn't want to get calluses on those nice hands...

  • wtf is with the poles on the bows?

  • for pgh Hunter the "poles" are stabilizers, hold a bat by the middle and spin it, now hold it out from the end of the grip. Much harder to swing now because the mass has been extended. On a bow this can be used to balance or unbalance so the bow behaves how you prefer. Additionally it maintains the bow from turning sideways longer which will maintain the aim on the target long enough for the arrow to get away.

  • The good compound-bows cost over 500 Euros- such a stupid sport! I know better things to spend that money in.

  • 500 euro...not a big deal though

  • I like this video :)

  • English Longbow 40 yards = 48" target, Compound Bow 70 yards 6" target, get it? good!

  • English war bow = man sized target 220yds, mind you I can't do it!

  • English war bow = 5000 arrows 30 hits ha ha. Some people are good at it, but most people just fling them, there is a similar sport called flight, just going for distance.

in re: to delance, most every compound archer shoots using a mechanical release of some variaty, the tips of the limbs are close together than on a recurve which results in pinch of the fingers and nock, and poundage is much higher as a low compound poundage is about 45, and a low recurve poundage more like 25.

  • I don't use a mechanical release :] i guess I'm not exactly professional either.. i shoot a 70lb genesis :]

  • Whenever i do archer i shoot with those regular bows, whats it like with the compounds

  • Anyone know the name of this song? Nice archery btw.

  • That´s the song Joanni from Kate Bush.

  • i'm not convinced that compound archery is even archey at all.. to much bow, not enough man! RECURVE 4EVA!

  • So everyman the things he like ok!

  • Dude, my father-in-law took 2nd place in Texas state archery championship back the the 60's. It was the first year they allowed compound. He was still shooting recurve...lost out to a guy with a compound. That recurve wore him out after shooting all day! Recurve is hardcore!

  • are you saying compund and recurve were shot as the same class??? THTS STUPID!

  • Yeah, it was the first yr compounds were allowed, so I guess they didn't put enough thought into it. Or maybe it was an option whether you shot compound or recurve. It's amazing to shoot with him; no sights on his recurve but he can still blow me away even with me using compound.
