Ridiculous amount of ignorance on YT. The ZR1 & ZO6 own some of the fastest times at the most famous testing ground there is, but American cars can't turn. The Cobalt SS held or still has the quickest fwd car around the Ring. It took Porsche to build a 132K Panamera to beat the CTS-V(Automatic) Ring time and last but not least, the new Mustang GT held it's own a gainst a 2011 M3 with competition package on a road course. The facts speak for themselves. You just have to know what they are.

Yes they are expensive, but thats part of what a ferrari is, it isn't made to be a commoners car but instead to be an exclusive and rare vehicle, just like many other things in our world that are out of reach to the majority. Yes the vet is cheaper and still a great car, but ultimately its not in the same league as a Ferrari.

I think this car is more a performance car. Not a luxuary-performance car. That is why it is compared to other sports car cheap. For example, Mercedes and Audi have a lot higher quality, and are of course therefore more expensive. You can have your entire family riding comfortable in the car, and if you want to, better performance than cars like these. For a higher price of course.

@soez101786 Oddly enough I see more Ferraris where I live than Vettes. There is a 360 in my neighborhood, another two 430's in my town and a 458. Not to mention a few older ones as well. I have never seen a ZR-1 on the road in my life. My GF is not a slut so she won't fall for a doucher in a Ferrari. Most guys who drive Ferraris seem to be a bit ego-centric IMO.
@Vectorsumio Most the people I've seen around here are in their mid 20's-30's driving Corvettes. Also a lot of seniors too. But mainly because not many young people can afford them. And also not very practical for a daily driver because you need to avoid certain roads since it's a low car, so most of them have a second car as a daily driver for winter/etc.

the ferrari f 430 is much better built than the corvette, make no mistake about that. The corvette is built to go fast on a straight line, the ferrari is built for suspension and handling. Overall quality the ferrari is the winner, corvette is just faster in a straight line.

I would take the corvette over any other vehicle becuase you have plenty of aftermarket power adders and also tons of stuff for them to have more fun and also get some serious power for the right amount of money. They are a solid car and when you need parts they are available close by and ready to use. Love these cars and also have worked on a few myself.

Well, the Corvette having the 350, which is possibly the most built engine ever made has a lot of advantages over the Ferrari. It's $300-$1,500 for headers for the 350....however headers for the Ferrari....more like $3,000+. You can stroke a 350 for a couple grand, you can stroke a Ferrari for about $5,500 depending on the car (V8). I love both of these cars, the F430 is my favorite. These two appear to be stock, so it's a pretty fair race.

Are you comparing a Ferrari to a Vette in.. a stright road?? LOL The Ferrari beats the Vette in any track. Racing in a stright road or on an oval is not motorsport (except in the States) anyway an Enzo or a 599/gtb/gto could easily beat the Vette on a stright track
Just remember that a guy buying an F430 could easily buy a ZR1 new off the lot.
It is just a mater of personal preference. They are all great cars, just depends on your budget and the experience you are looking for, so no real need to argue.
I chose an F430 and I find it to be everything I had hoped for and more. Street racing is a poor idea.
In the end, it is which car makes you excited to own and drive.

We cannot compare the Corvette to the Ferrari F430, but then one thing that we could compare is that performance of Corvette are almost same as the F430 would do and the prices are only $70,000 est for Corvette and over $140,000 for F430. with most things that "cost more" ...I find people often see the price and the only difference is the "name" and people see that its "just buying the name" but even with something like sunglasses. You can buy dark, shade providing, sun relief for about $5. But if you spend the extra money (like $200) you end up with something that is a bit more comfy, more light weight, and durable ...cont..

@exoticlown The Corvette has always been called America's sports car. I honestly think the base model is half muscle half sport. Z06 is sport and some people might say super, ZR1 is a super. I guess people just classify it as muscle because America is known for muscle and not sport. I am not 100% sure if this is true, but this is the only logical explanation I can think of.
@chaldochamp3 I think people call these muscle cars mainly because it has a very low range of torque and alot of it. It doesnt require much throttle to break traction on the tires. Compared to something like a BMW M5 or M6 wich is considered more sports car because all the torque is in the high revs and less lb feet. meaning you need to give it much more throttle to loose traction even though its the same horsepower as the Z06. but its much slower in a straight line because of that.

@mikeydelivery Given the choice between a brand new Z06 and a brand new F430, I would be pretty torn... but it would all depend on where I lived. I would not get the Ferrari unless I lived in a nice area with nice roads year round and had a garage for it. I could not stand to drive such an amazing car on pothole riddled roads in the driving rain. There is a lot that goes into owning a car like a Vette or Ferrari.
That is a lesson in torque vs hp on display. The gearing in the ZO6 is mild compared to what is in the F430, but yet the ZO6 not only walks it, but gets over 10+ mpg better than the Ferrari. So the ZO6 may not have the most expensive leather, dashboard, paint, etc, but it doesn't need it where it counts.

BTW, the new Boss 302 wipes up the track with any BMW and beats all of the pre-2012 GTRs around most tracks also for mid 40s, manual transmission and solid rear axle. Saying that American cars can't turns just makes you look special.

Ridiculous amount of ignorance on YT. The ZR1 & ZO6 own some of the fastest times at the most famous testing ground there is, but American cars can't turn. The Cobalt SS held or still has the quickest fwd car around the Ring. It took Porsche to build a 132K Panamera to beat the CTS-V(Automatic) Ring time and last but not least, the new Mustang GT held it's own a gainst a 2011 M3 with competition package on a road course. The facts speak for themselves. You just have to know what they are.

Yes they are expensive, but thats part of what a ferrari is, it isn't made to be a commoners car but instead to be an exclusive and rare vehicle, just like many other things in our world that are out of reach to the majority. Yes the vet is cheaper and still a great car, but ultimately its not in the same league as a Ferrari.

The Vette is every bit as well engineered as anything out there, and even at their relatively low price they're not exactly cheap. But in terms of exclusivity, you're absolutely right. I think this car is more a performance car. Not a luxuary-performance car. That is why it is compared to other sports car cheap. For example, Mercedes and Audi have a lot higher quality, and are of course therefore more expensive. I have never seen a ZR-1 on the road in my life. My GF is not a slut so she won't fall for a doucher in a Ferrari. Most guys who drive Ferraris seem to be a bit ego-centric IMO.

@Vectorsumio Most the people I've seen around here are in their mid 20's-30's driving Corvettes. Also a lot of seniors too. But mainly because not many young people can afford them. And also not very practical for a daily driver because you need to avoid certain roads since it's a low car, so most of them have a second car as a daily driver for winter/etc.

the ferrari f 430 is much better built than the corvette, make no mistake about that. The corvette is built to go fast on a straight line, the ferrari is built for suspension and handling. Overall quality the ferrari is the winner, corvette is just faster in a straight line.

I would take the corvette over any other vehicle becuase you have plenty of aftermarket power adders and also tons of stuff for them to have more fun and also get some serious power for the right amount of money. They are a solid car and when you need parts they are available close by and ready to use. Love these cars and also have worked on a few myself.

Well, the Corvette having the 350, which is possibly the most built engine ever made has a lot of advantages over the Ferrari. It's $300-$1,500 for headers for the 350....however headers for the Ferrari....more like $3,000+. You can stroke a 350 for a couple grand, you can stroke a Ferrari for about $5,500 depending on the car (V8). I love both of these cars, the F430 is my favorite. These two appear to be stock, so it's a pretty fair race.

@firechicken8292 hey fuckface, if you knew anything about automobiles, you would know that shear engine size makes all the difference in horse power, not how many cylinders there are. and 6.2L... ferrari's biggest engine is 6L. so they're smallest (ie. shittiest) car still has a bigger engine than the top ferrari. and there isn't a corvette that has a 0-60 less than 4 seconds. when pretty much all "exotic" cars are less than that.

If you're buying a car so you can get some pussy, there's something wrong. You'd be better off spending your money on a trip to Nevada where you can simply buy some pussy-time directly. These cars are about driving and performance, and the Z06 delivers roughly the same performance as the Ferrari, for less. Today you can buy a Corvette Z06 (with some ZR1 options like the carbon ceramic brakes) for the same price as a 911 Carrera. How many years of saving is the Ferrari worth over the Z06?

Just remember that a guy buying an F430 could easily buy a ZR1 new off the lot.
It is just a mater of personal preference. They are all great cars, just depends on your budget and the experience you are looking for, so no real need to argue.
I chose an F430 and I find it to be everything I had hoped for and more. Street racing is a poor idea.
In the end, it is which car makes you excited to own and drive.

We cannot compare the Corvette to the Ferrari F430, but then one thing that we could compare is that performance of Corvette are almost same as the F430 would do and the prices are only $70,000 est for Corvette and over $140,000 for F430. It's pretty sad that a $200,000 Ferrari can't keep up with a $80,000 Corvette. And it's extra sad that you need a Ferrari to get girls, the truth is girls could care less about what you drive. Does the corvette have muscle still in it?? why is it starting to be considered a sports car and drifting away from being a muscle car, I mean I see corvettes of all years in muscle car books, but I see people say they are more sports cars than muscle cars, someone please explain! thanks!

@exoticlown The Corvette has always been called America's sports car. I honestly think the base model is half muscle half sport. Z06 is sport and some people might say super, ZR1 is a super. I guess people just classify it as muscle because America is known for muscle and not sport. I am not 100% sure if this is true, but this is the only logical explanation I can think of.

@chaldochamp3 I think people call these muscle cars mainly because it has a very low range of torque and alot of it. It doesnt require much throttle to break traction on the tires. Compared to something like a BMW M5 or M6 wich is considered more sports car because all the torque is in the high revs and less lb feet. meaning you need to give it much more throttle to loose traction even though its the same horsepower as the Z06. but its much slower in a straight line because of that.

@mikeydelivery Given the choice between a brand new Z06 and a brand new F430, I would be pretty torn... but it would all depend on where I lived. I would not get the Ferrari unless I lived in a nice area with nice roads year round and had a garage for it. I could not stand to drive such an amazing car on pothole riddled roads in the driving rain. There is a lot that goes into owning a car like a Vette or Ferrari.

That is a lesson in torque vs hp on display. The gearing in the ZO6 is mild compared to what is in the F430, but yet the ZO6 not only walks it, but gets over 10+ mpg better than the Ferrari. So the ZO6 may not have the most expensive leather, dashboard, paint, etc, but it doesn't need it where it counts.

The reason people love Ferrari's and always will is for there style and rarity. I love there style and could not give two shits if the vett you see 10 of every day has just a bit more performance. Cuz lets face it unless you bring them to a track and race them no one will ever get to see it on the street. I don't even notice vetts most of the time cuz you see so many of them its like passing a civic. But no one passes a Ferrari and does not take notice it just does not happen.

@LitenSkada No, you didn't get it right. People get caught up on status and forget what you are buying a car for. If you want something expensive to look at, go buy art. A high performance car is meant to be driven. Every Ferrari I have seen that is several years old has less than 5K miles, which means garage queen. A car is on wheels for a reason. The ZO6 is an incredible machine for the money spent. It has a better warranty, gets much better mpg and can be driven everyday

The newer vetters are great, yes, if you are after a fast car that has a lot for its price. The Ferraris you buy when you can afford it no questions asked and no looking at the bankaccount first. They have different buyers, vette gives you moore speed per $ absolutely. Though the new 458 smaches all Z06´s

@LitenSkada Well it takes a mature person to admit they made a mistake and I respect you for it. I agree that people that buy Ferraris are usually not interested in much of anything else. They are iabsolutely incredible machines, but for a serious price. Sure the 458 beats the Z06, but it can't take out the ZR1 which is 1/2 the price. If I were a multi-millionaire, I would certainly own a Ferrari. Corvettes offer what other highend companies can't. Supercar Performance that most can afford.

The C6 Z06s are starting to go for 45K with low miles so while you are dreaming about the F430 you will never own, real people are driving an affordable supercar that is beating your dream car's ass. The New Z06 Carbon is even killing the GTR on most tracks by several seconds. Sometimes you get what you pay for but most times you pay alot for things you don't need. My mother could buy a droid, but never use 90% of its functions. Is that a smart purchase?

Ferrari all the way you front win races on the straights you win them in the corners and then you see that the Ferrari is a 4.3 liter and the corvette is 6 liter and it can just get its nose in front of the Ferrari give Ferrari engineers that corvette engine and they would show what it could really do in all honestly it should obliterate the Ferrari in the straights but it wont because the Ferrari is finely tuned and a true super car the corvette is just alright

@kingcoc1 i love it when people like you pull out these facts. theyre true all the way. thats for sure. ive always wondered why the ferrari engines and lamborghini 10 cyls were like 4 and 5 liters and then a vette is like 6 or 7. but regardless of these dumb numbers. the vette still won plain and simple. and even by a little bit. but that little bit cost a lot less. and thats why the vette is a true super car.
