  • I use iMovie 06 as well. My computer came with iMovie 08 but I thought it sucked so I downloaded the 06 version from Apple's website.

  • For the best quality, export your videos, using expert mode, as MP4, 480 X 360 frame size, 30 fps. For the sound, use AAC.

  • That's the format in which it plays when you add &fmt=18 to a video's URL. If you upload it in that format, it processes much more quickly and you also get the "high quality" option when viewing the video. Also, when you create a new project in iMovie, use MPEG-4 as the video format if you're planning to upload it to YouTube.
