  • @gtills not if you feed alot of bale silage and straw.

  • see a pen of simmys, how they doing for ya?

  • @pony9999 grow like mushrooms

  • @MrScottishfarmer can i ask what age/ how heavy they are when you buy and sell? (reason being charolais and lim tend to get the all the glory!)

  • I'm suprised your mix feeds evenly? without the dry corn coming out before the straw? You don't need anything moist to bind it together?

  • @dairyUA . just make sure we put the straw in first. it comes out well mixed through no matter what we put in. you just have to make sure you put the lightest material in first, other wise it just sits on top. these are great machines for feeding cattle.

  • Interesting, we have a hi-spec 14 mixmax diet feeder and with that, it is best to put the concentrates in first

  • I wish we could grow enough straw in orkney to feed them as much!!

  • do you guve them straw maise and grass or something more?

  • @newhollandthebest we generaly feed silage to younger smaller cattle that have come of the grass to fatten. then we up the amount of barley and cut out the silage. All mix`s have 1 wheat straw round bale in them.

  • So that is how beef cattle are raised over there? Here our cows (beef) never go under a barn except to go in the catch pen (corral).

  • nice video, why would you feed them wheat straw instead of silage may i ask?

  • @friesiancowboy wheat straw is readly avalable, also we find the cattle finnish better (dead weight percentage).

  • What is in your mix?

  • @6220se 1 round bale of wheat, 250kgs dark grains, 3t of bruised barley and minerals.

  • aa that must be nice to spread the straw like that!!!!
