  • Love Lane . . . he went away too soon :(

  • Such talent!

  • alice in chains-no layne-no band.....

  • @orfantala Agreed, i wish Jerry would of changed the name of the band, no offfense, but it's a slap in the face to Layne to be replaced by Duvall.

  • @orfantala Thats not what Layne would have wanted.

  • @orfantala Have a little respect for Jerry.

  • we miss you ,Layne...

  • and sl

ow suicide wasnt the way to go...

  • --and slow suicide wasnt the way to go......

    '

  • fallen angel RIP LAYNE

  • Layne's voice is amazing and unique. I think William Duvell has some big shoes to fill in. I don't think he is the right musician. Honestly, i know the band has to move on but, i think Jerry should have started fresh with a new band, new name because when people heard AIC they expect to hear Layne and the fans are not getting the same unique and amazing voice....I know people will not agree with me but, Layne was AIC and without him it's not the same....RIP Layne

  • R.I.P. Layne Staley

  • or mad season just wished they made more than one album

  • alice never gets old for me

  • @dubs5121

    For me too brother.

  • no kidding I too can listen to this 101 times a day....

    and still hit replay

  • this song is def in my top 10 best of all time but so under rated his music is food for the soul

  • Layne is the voice of the underdog. When you feel like no one cares...you know some how, some way, that Layne understands. He's Christ-Like to all of us who appreciate his work.Layne is our Saviour. He helps us understand ourselves and how fucked up life can be.Jesus get off your throne and let Layne sit for a while. He lived for others,He sang for others,He gave Himself freely to others. We allowed him to isolate Himself and wither to death...we're sorry Layne,we Love you,we miss you.

  • "Drugs are not the way to the light. They won't lead to a fairy-tale life, they lead to suffering." Its too bad Layne couldn't listen to his own words. The music industry sucks today, mainly because people like Layne don't make music anymore. RIP Layne

  • une putain d bonne chanson

  • nah i know.. but i heard a video earlier and the quality was kinda low and it seemed live.. i was wondering if there was a video anywhere youtube or not where they played this song.

  • anyone know if there is a video on youtube or anywhere else where they played this song live? i would really appreciate it.

  • @B0STONBRIAN mad season live at the moore theater in seattle WA..only full concert ever taped.

  • Layne is THE BEST! :)

  • its so disturbing to think of all the wonderful new music alice n chains and layne staley would have made if layne didnt pass away....and i wonder if he and alice n chains were still gouped today, could they still make music on par with therr old stuff? i bet they could...but its a real shame

  • @llHyRaXll aic with layne would be the only band in the world today that could make music on par with those glory days of music. no one else.

  • he wrote this about his heroin abuse right?

  • @KilllaCaleb really man? this song is full of pain from a junkie. He couldn't wake up.

  • awesome song!

  • i hope your awake now layne, r.i.p buddie

  • wow, was layne singing this to himself?, he may as well have been, hard drug use is slow suicide, even jim morrison admitted as much

  • as a past ex-drug user myself the only peice of mind i had was cocaine, crack, heroin, speed, extasy, mushrooms, weed, pain killers, man im so surprised im not partying with layne right now in heaven.

  • this song has raped my mind for years and yes i enjoyed it

  • this has saved me serveral times...

  • Fuck , m9awwed :D

  • For a little peace from God you plead..

  • Why do people keep arguing whether Staley, Cornell, or Cobain were best? They are all amazing in their own way - it's like comparing Zeus to Odin, they're different but they're equally powerful in their own ways.

  • @TheGuitargabe agreed, stop bitching about it guys. cant we like both?

  • @TheGuitargabe thank you. these people are stupid and always wanna compare. then they wanna wonder why the world is the way it is.

  • Layne sei immortale!

  • Cornell goes deeper than them all...

  • whoever wrote the lyrics here is simply not right/...

  • it give me the wish to carry on everyday

  • I can't stop listening this song. It's really amazing.

  • @patriciocoutinho99 I too share your addiction

  • This is my favourite song of all time. And I´m not just saying that cause I´m in here right now. I can´t belive this song haven´t gotten more credit.

  • wake up... let's make up for 10 long years...

  • i guess i'm a loser... i sleep in a coffin...

  • this is great... let's glorify disease...

  • 1 is a symbol. 2 is actually representative. it's my jersey number.

  • i wear a cubs hat i found in the street for no particular reason. do we have any players.

  • If you can't relate to this song nor can relate then you aint living... and if you don't like it I will come fuck you up personally!!!!

  • If not for this song I might not be typing this comment right now... That beautiful and deadly concoction that I put up my arm every day was most certainly killing me more and more everyday. Then one day I woke up. Thanks to my dear from Layne. To all the other opiate addicts out there still suffering, Detox (with medication) and rehab was the easiest and best thing to ever happen to me. Don't be afraid. The living hell that we have lived through was far worse I assure you....

  • You can really feel Layne's pain in this song and troubles he had with addiction. R.I.P Layne Staley

  • I love this song. Its so full beautiful and full of emo.

  • Semplicemente infinita.. indimenticabile!

  • He singed his life in this music

  • Its a damn fine song! I dont see it in a sad or negative perspective. I think of it as self motivation and pushing himself/yourself to rise above it. Damn good song.

  • This song is my favorite song ever. Not among them, it´s THE favorite.

  • One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard!!!!!!!!!! Gives me goosebumps.

  • I like this great song, i often hear. Sometimes I´d like to travel to 90´s.

  • If you welcome it, this song can save you. Sacrifice has been done to create this. Thank You Layne

  • the 8 dislike's are sadden that they didn't know layne. he's a genuine man.

  • The Mad Season album ranks in my all time top 5. Right behind Black Sabbath Paranoid. Awsome lyrics, vocals, guitar, everything.! Sad and Powerful.

Some of the lyrical phrases are the best I've ever heard. Majical!

  • greatest song of all time

    Layne Staley

What a voice, what a beautiful song !

    "Wake up"

  • ain't found a way to kill me yet.

  • RAKE UP

  • this song is so unbelievably good.........

  • Its so amazing how laynes voice can sound so great when singing heavy and still sound so beautiful in songs like this. RIP my man. It sucks that God got greedy and wanted Layne to sing for him so soon.

  • Staley's voice was so incredible. What a loss.

  • for the longest time i thought mad season was a one hit super group but this song surely woke me up

  • Q.E.P.D Layne Staley

  • On August 22 lets all watch this video and like it in memory of Layne Thomas Staley, and all the countless lives heroin has destroyed. He, and all heroin's victims deserve this. Thumbs up and repost if you are in

  • @BigNick419andholding i do,every year

  • A song to die for!

  • Went through detox March 15, 2011 after using for many years. It was hell, but worth it. Feel better than ever now. Mike Starr gave me the insentive to go in. Don't know how anyone can go back on that stuff after detox!!!!!!!

  • @marymuss2003 i know how. becuase you just dont give a shit about all the pain your going to face in the future when you look only at the here and now. its like putting of your homework till the last minute it gives you plenty of free time but when that time comes to do it all it really sucks and you wish you didnt do that. but then you finish it and you do the same thing again and again and again and again and again.

  • after years of being an aic fan, i started listen to this and its awesome

  • Staley was way deeper than Cobain

  • @TheAmorphousCreature well said. Cobain is vastly overrated

  • @TheAmorphousCreature MEH! Cobain is a schmuck compared to Layne.

  • @TheAmorphousCreature amen to that but cornell is deeper than them all

  • @TheAmorphousCreature well said!

  • at 3:58. isnt it "and beg". not "and they"? i could be wrong though

  • @MrAmericafuckyeah yes its and beg. This song is awesome.

  • @MrAmericafuckyeah there is alot of misprints in this video. Its also the leaves to rake up. Not rake us.

  • @MrAmericafuckyeah No you're right

  • Wow...incredible delivery of emotion and musical talent displayed for all to see.

A billion Blessings of Peace, Love and Light for all on earth at this precious time.

Music continues to heal all wounds and emotional scars NOW in JOY.

  • sad but so fucking true

  • It's just perfect...Sometimes we need to feel sad and desperate WTF!!! That's why I love this song and specially Layne is better every single time.

  • it's 'and beg...' dude. 'and they....' doesn't even make sense.

  • how come this song makes me want to do even MORE drugs ......and fast

  • An extraordinarily and profoundly beautiful song: eerily real, so close to Layne's life. If God could have provided Layne with a little peace maybe he would still be here today. The very essence of his lyrics mirrored his existence; maybe the peace he was seeking is where he is now. His girlfriend's passing hurt him deeply, but his father leaving him as a young boy ultimately led to Layne leaving us. Layne was just scratching the surface of his talent with art, music, and song writng.

  • great voice, good spirit that got lost in this stupid world

  • you don't need to put in all the "aahs" and "yeahs" when writing lyrics. it just looks goofy. it's much more of a musical tone, than expressing an actual word.

  • 2:33-2:35. His voice. Brilliant...

  • this is tha best song ever but u did knda fuck up tha words...lol...

  • Well, I suppose "hell" in it's purest form is wanting to die & not being able to, your most intense suffering brought on by yourself and/or addiction from lack of self-control or discipline. Your ego tempts you and you abuse your biggest idol, yourself. I suppose that is the message of certain religions, but people choose not to listen or hear. I know a lot about this personally, but ultimately I'm to blame, that's a very hard thing to accept. You do it to yourself.

  • @devilsgrin6 the realest shit i ever read. made shivers go up my spine. makes me wanna cry.

  • this is layne's soul singing.....great song. very raw.

  • DIZZY AND WEAKENED BY THE HAZE. We fucking miss you Layne.

  • dude messed on the lyrics it goes "from little peace from god you plead and beg" not "and they"

  • i own the cd and listen to it almost everyday

  • His voice is especially haunting in this song, "Wake up, wake up..." Mr. Staley will always be missed

  • This how obssessed I am about Layne's life.Anyone no the story behind the Layne,Demri wedding picture 4:28 was it a photoshoot,it looks to be about 1989-1990??intersting pic the way she is looking at him.I've always noticed that the most charming, funniest people are always the one's with the worst/most demons.

  • This song is it if you can't understand I am very sorry for you, My tears for Layne Stanley..2005 for me and STRONG. WAKE UP LISTEN AND ABSORB Every day is a challenge, Live like it IS

  • whoa havent heard this song in sooo long

  • almost nine years since I woke up. Right after Layne passed and I realized I was headed down the same road with meth he did with heroin. When an infection not a phase, it's time to wake up. RIP Layne Thomas Staley

  • 61 days awake

  • I listen to this song a lot when I think about slipping up or when I've slipped up. It doesn't make things right but it feels good to know someone has written a song that so perfectly describes those feelings.

  • ETERNO

  • Layne Staley,semplicemente il migliore..!

  • The entire CD is based on Layne's addiction. He wanted so badly to not be addicted. You are missed Layne!

  • Layne Staley, por siempre vivirás a través de tus canciones. Descansa en paz.

  • One of the saddest and angstiest songs I've ever listened.. Man I always come to this song in the bad days and it's confort

  • Rust in peace. Layne Staley

  • love this song!

  • Layne was our Edgar Allen Poe. They make misery so beautiful and powerful.

  • Mt alarm just woke me up

  • This song is soooo underrated! Whole album is just awesome, but this is THE BEST of all.

  • Layne Staley

    1967 - Forever

  • @cawkkburn65 shit man!! One of the best frontmen of the 90s This man put his pain out for everyone. All as anyone had to do was read or listen to the lyrics

  • his voice gaves me goosebumps ooh.. yeah...

  • wake up......

  • this song is just too beautiful yet so very sad, it perfectly describes the situation when you know you should do something about your life but you are just too numb to be able to change things, for different reasons, and you just repeat your old mistakes and are angry at yourself and at the same time a bit resigned and somehow weirdly comfortably with the mess you're in and you would like someone or something to help you but secretly know it wouldn't work unless you do it yourself but you can't

  • @dirrx perfectly said!

  • @dirrx interpretation is beautiful

  • @dirrx Haha feel that way exactly right now

  • @dirrx I'm exactly in that situation, stuck in my mind

  • @dirrx too fucking right, man
