Like his Brothers Gibb, Andy so gracefully portrayed very rare natural talent. I think Barry was right in that he and Andy were like twins just as Maurice and Robin were. Andy sounds and looks so much like Barry. Like Andy and Barry, Robin could step up to a mike and take our breath away, Mo's adaptability in the three-part-harmonies and his instrumental prowess added so much to all the Bee Gees' contributions to music. May the Brothers Gibb's love for each other be a shining beacon forever.

It all happened to me when I was in my teens and early 20s.I guess I will never forget Andy and all the 70s n 80s singers I listened to, to comfort myself when my love life fell on the rocks. I was young and in love all the time with different girls.

@MiggleMuggle Barry was undoubtedly the most noticeable and recognizable of all the Bee Gees Vocals, however if you listend to Maurice, he had a totally differnet sound. He added the "Country" sound to their genre. I saw them live in Toronto, and he aslo had a fabulous sense of Humor!

Such a tragic waste of talent. Andy forever lived in the shadow of his brothers and had an inferiority complex that turned him to drugs. Maurice had a similar problem with drink, as he felt he lived in the shadow of Barry and Robin.
Andy died of a heart defect that may or may not have been caused by drugs (it has never been officially proven).
Three months before he died, he passed his pilots licence, so he would have been healthy then

@70sdiscobabe- So a person is arrogant and holier than thou just for stating the absolute truth? Doesn't matter the reason behind it....the truth is that had he not ingested the drugs he'd still be alive. Amazing the days we live in where no one is responsible for their own actions and the the truly evil and arrogant ones are the ones who speak it for what it is.

You will never know the reason behind what Andy did or didnt do, only his family know the real reason and to Sesatia stop replying and getting into arguments if it is hurting you. Leave it be!

@SweetSesatia-- I hate to tell you but the drug dealers did not DO anything to Andy----he did it all to himself unless the drug dealers held him down at gunpoint and shoved the junk in his mouth----his decision-- his consequence.

This is one of my alltime favorite songs by him. I dedicated it to my old girlfriend in junior high school. Funny you don't hear this great ballad on the radio anymore like I did when I was younger. The other one I liked by him was a duet he did with Olivia Newton John called "I Can't Help It." This is the definition of true romantic music. Fantastic video!

@MyQ4u I think back then singers were so much more fragile,. the likes of Andy and Karen Carpenter etc, sensitive fragile hearted people. Todays celebs have got it easier and for the most part are more resilient. I can't see Justin Bieber having troubles of the level Andy ever had.

Andy had a lot of problems that no one really knows about like he did and his Brothers do. He medicated with drugs for his own personal reasons. I will leave it at that.

Andy Barry and Maurice were the ones who could sing, but Robin and Maurice would have never made it withour Barry, but Barry and Andy would have made it no matter what. The way we dressed back in the 70's and people think teenagers back then dressed radical. Now days you can't tell girls from boys. There are some but not many. I loved the 70's and 80's. I am so glad I was a teenager in the 70's I would have missed some good music.

I don't remember the year but the first time I saw Andy perform was on a New Years Eve show.... I was hooked from then and still love to watch him....he was my first crush... Still have the old 45's....He was taken away much to soon.... love & miss you Andy.

@mcjohansen22 HA HA I grew up with his pictures on my walls when I was a teenager and I am now 46 and yeah, he still looks good to me. He was just the sweetest and most sincere celebrity/singer and I loved him then and still do now. Miss him and wish he were still with us!

I just hate drug dealers for what they did to Andy, and many others who get caught up in that hell. he was clean for 3 years before his death. He had myocarditis. That is brought on by a virus like the flu, although the using didn't help him I am sure. poor Andy.

I have been wondering if this song was meant for Andy or the Gibb brothers personally, especially after watching the Bee Gees concert when the brothers sang this song in dedication to their little brother Andy. I could feel the ''pain'' that Barry felt when he looked at Andy on the big screen and with a smile on his face - even a simple expression like that could show how much he must have missed Andy! so sad two of the brothers have already passed away! :-(

@chch28 Andy got caught up in Hollywood, fast cars and drugs very fast. I have seen interviews where Maurice talked about it and a nightmare he had of Andy being died. I often wonder if in the lyrics was a veiled reference to Andy's lifestyle..

@SweetSesatia I agree.....Andy was human and was very young and made some bad choices regarding the drugs. However, the dealers or whoever sold them to him or got him hooked are the lowest scum on earth. Andy is just one example of how drugs can really mess your life up! I am glad that he was able to get himself clean before his untimely death. He was a wonderful person and entertainer and will always be missed by his fans. No one else will ever compare to ANDY GIBB!!!!

@70sdiscobabe Not true!.... Although the first i heard of Andy was on one of their albums (one night only i believe) when they actually say "This is our song for Andy" before singing it :) Always used to think it was a song by Maurice, Robin and Barry to Andy but hey ho, a classic is a classic ;)
