Hate to rain on the Ginn lovefest but while I wouldn't call Ginn a bust, being the #9 overall draft pick, and ranking #37 in rec yards in the NFL among WRs isn't exactly a boom. Among kick returners with 10 or more returns, he ranks #30 in yards per return. While being a standout in college, seems his transition to the NFL is slowed by his size. Also, in the NFL combines, Ginn ran a 4.38 40 while Calvin Johnson ran a 4.33.
just an FYI, ginn didn't run in the NFL combine because of his ankle injury. however, he did run at Ohio State's pro day and he was timed at about 4.3. even with a sore ankle he ran that fast...thats insane. im not saying he'll be great in the NFL but this year hes by far doing better than last year.
I stand corrected on the NFL combine issue. The 4.38 he ran was at a private workout for NFL scouts in Columbus on April 11, 2007. I thought Ginn bailed on the OSU Pro Day. Even so, the OSU PD was about a month earlier in March. That means (if he ran) he ran a slower time in April than he did in March when his ankle had an additional month to heal. WHAT?? I will agree that he is having a much better year than last.

i am a die hard ohio state fan and ted ginn was probably my favorite buckeye to watch but as a wide receiver, calvin johnson is on another level.. his size and athleticism was just unmatched in college and will soon to be in the pro's. ted ginn is an all purpose type of player, johnson is a pure receiver.. you wont see to many players like him ever again

Ted Ginn is utilized more in special teams than Calvin Johnson. There is also a huge size difference. Nobody has really compared the two for that reason. Nice try though kid

watch the return at the 2:00 mark. that guy wearing #4 is Santonio Holmes, who was clocked at 4.38 at the NFL combine. Ginn runs by him like he's standing still.
TG2 might not have a ridiculous 40 time, but once he hits his stride, there's no one faster.
simply put, once he's in the open field, there isn't anyone who can catch him from behind

Hate to rain on the Ginn lovefest but while I wouldn't call Ginn a bust, being the #9 overall draft pick, and ranking #37 in rec yards in the NFL among WRs isn't exactly a boom. Among kick returners with 10 or more returns, he ranks #30 in yards per return. While being a standout in college, seems his transition to the NFL is slowed by his size. Also, in the NFL combines, Ginn ran a 4.38 40 while Calvin Johnson ran a 4.33.

just an FYI, ginn didn't run in the NFL combine because of his ankle injury. however, he did run at Ohio State's pro day and he was timed at about 4.3. even with a sore ankle he ran that fast...thats insane. im not saying he'll be great in the NFL but this year hes by far doing better than last year.

I stand corrected on the NFL combine issue. The 4.38 he ran was at a private workout for NFL scouts in Columbus on April 11, 2007. I thought Ginn bailed on the OSU Pro Day. Even so, the OSU PD was about a month earlier in March. That means (if he ran) he ran a slower time in April than he did in March when his ankle had an additional month to heal. WHAT?? I will agree that he is having a much better year than last.

@gtbama0793 ..... I researched 2 KOR in the same game vs. Jets last year...and a blowtorch bomb on planet Revis vs. the Jets....he's a game changer that was stuck on poorly conceive passing attacks. He should be as good as DeSean Jackson at the least...i dont know if the Niners would make him any better, either. Give the man Tom Brady, Tony Romo or Brett Favre and see how much he could light it up.....

nope. it's because UF and LSU both had dominant D-lines. the '02 team had a badass D-line. if there was one weakenss the Buckeyes had the last two years, it was the D-tackles. hopefully, this year's D-tackles are better...
