makes me laugh with these pill comments on power..

most pills are stated as 100w or 150w PEP, that means in reality they only are 75w..!!

example a 'toy' Zetagi B2002 they say 600w on AM/FM 1200w on SSB.

uses four MRF422 rated at 150PEP thats four times 75w to equal 300w so on AM/FM with 10w drive i get 300w, so where is this extra 300w AM/FM come from and with 20w (SSB input) i get just under 500w so again where do they get the extra power from..

manufacturers talk shit, simple as...

It just amaze me how everyone wants to see 'low pass filter watts'! This is cb folks, not nasa or ham. A class C box is not ment to be squeeky clean on a scope. It was really designed for keydowns to produce the most watts as efficiently as possible. Good box tuning and set-up will make these boxes tolerable. And anyway, you're gonna see attenuation and "less watts' called 'insertion loss' right off the bat.

Can you do a input versus output test? If 25 watts in, what's the out, at 50 watts in whats the out, at 75 watts, whats the out, at 100 watts whats the out? That's another thing I wish peeps would do. Thanks for posting!!

I got a test for you to try. Run a bencher low pass before the meter and see how many watts you lose. No one seems to try this to find out how many watts aren't real. Thanks for posting btw!

call me,1-830-569-3368,im the 187 from the east side of pleasanton texas,i got 1x2879 driving a 2x2879 fatboy base,i pep at 700 watts,i just orderd a 6pill base to get 1500watts,fat boy sells a 8pill mobile that can be turned up2 4000watts at 20 volts,amps x volts equal watts,20 goes into 4000,, 200 times,that means you NEED200amps,and driving the amp hard never hurts either,,just a lil,,got2have SWRs that read 1.5 on dead key,an 1.3 on a swing,re-cal for the swing,i run lmr400 coax,got2be clean

Fat boy sure must realy be off in the head with an 8 pill doing 4000 watts. They say that stuff so people will buy from them. I would rather some one tell me less and when I get it home it does "more".....with no let down. 500 watts a pill lol.
