I remember this commercial well. They used to play it constantly on cable channels like The USA Network and Nick at Night in the mid-80s. I remember thinking how the Dream Away people were trying to lend credibility to their product by getting a Sean Connery look-alike.
I think the FDA finally forced the company to take this product off the market because of its outrageous claims. If this product worked as well as they say, this country wouldn't have the obesity problem it now has.
The announcer at :18 I know for sure is actor Larry Dobkin. He played Professor Ryman in the MacGuyver episode called "Hell Week".
He also played Colonal Kincaid in the 1st Season episode of Knight Rider called "Inside Out".
