I'm still a girl in high school but I'm going to join the army. So fuck to whoever thinks women can't fight for their country. And the law that says women aren't allowed as normal foot soldiers- eff that, too. If they want to, let them. That's being sexist right there. Men always think women need protection. We have brains too, you know, and tend to use them much more often.

That' not really true. There are armies with women in combat troops as well. My country, is one of tham and I am a woman in a combat unit myself. What really makes politics keep women outside combat troops, isn't the fact that they would consider women more precious than men. No, the fact is much more shovinist: because machos want to keep this military field an exclusively male area. My experience is that they feel humiliated if a chick shoots and drills better than them. :)

Why are you saying all these bad things about women in army? It's still very rare that women goes to army, and when they go they r usually much more motivated than some men are (at least in my country where men must go to army). If you men think that army is men thing and women thing is to clean and cook, don't worry there is lots of women who are willing to do that, but these some women who doesn't want that kind of boring life should not be judge. I'd rather I raise my own children otherwise what is the point of having children I spend minimal amount of time with during their childhood. Women shouldn't put other women down period. Being a housewife you will never get an award, recognition, and most of the time any appreciation at all. It is not an easy job, but it isn't boring either to all.

@twint1p First, I agree, women are have strengths equal to those of men, and half the time even greater then that of men. They are focused, agile, much more energetic then their male counterparts, somewhat smarter (women tend to develop faster logically), their decreased size makes them a smaller target and allows them into more confined areas, and the fact that their female give many personal on the other team second thoughts about firing at them. I would question myself should I do it.

Most women won't pass, MentalicMike90, and I don't think it's cost effective for the military to make special provision for the few that do.
I'd be very surprised if male soldiers take GI Jane's seriously. Also, I just don't understand why so many women these days are hell bent proving they're as good as men in areas where they cannot realistically compete - like this.

If women are allowed to serve in combat units, the group dynamics will change and imo be less effective.
Common sense tells me you need to be able to predict each other's actions to really be effective, especially under fire. Men and women don't think alike - we're NOT the same.
Yes, women in the military but not in combat with men; it's a recipe for disaster. Be realistic guys, you're talking about an ideal world, war is harsh reality.

@nelson0110 one doesn't need to actually take courses in psychology to be informed about such things. And if you're not, that's your problem. Women perform worse in some areas of life because:
1) in many cases they have to take care of a household ALONG with having to perform at peak capacity at work
2)they have to compete against driven, ruthless and biased men who aren't occupied with daily chores(having left such things to their wives...)
so it's rather cultural than an actual inferiority.
