  • This horse is my mothers horses grandfather!

  • I LOVE THIS HORSE AND THE RIDER!! Nice and Energetic!

  • what are the official titles of the celtic music you used?

  • and then realize that anky and bonfire made this a golden kur at the olympics in sidney

  • wahnsinn schaut total schön aus :D

  • he does an absolutely fantastic trot and canterwork, espeecially piaffe and passage but he does not go walk....

but the choice of music is truely great

  • Wow, what a great horse!

It's sad to know they can't live as long as us... they bring so much to this world.

  • Wonderful, i loved the way u edited the music!! :D And nice choice of music too, hehe x)

  • when did he died? everything was good in him

  • He died in 2005 due to colic

  • That is really too bad. He is a great horse! :D

  • This is the father of my horse with the same name, Ferro. :) He is soooo beautiful!! :D

  • (L) ferro rip

  • R.I.P. Olympic Ferro!!

  • Rabobank!!

  • Wow that is a great horse. His extended trot, piaffe, and passage were all outstanding.

  • that is an amazing horse.

  • Love the music, choreography is a but chopped up but the music works great with this horse

  • pretty good!!!

  • Actually stallions are not always on your side. One day they can be to hypo, lazy switched off, stubborn - Ask a (mare) Tell a (Gelding) Discuss with a (stallion).

  • and the stallion excuse is silly, a well trained stallion, while it may be always be a little more difficult to handle cause they just require more work, is the most unparalleled ride a person could ever experience... absolutely breath taking if you can handle one well. and in medieval times only crap horses were usually gelded a stallion had to be rideable or it ended up as dinner.

  • so to be perfectly honest a well trained horse is a well trained horse no matter the sex. stallions should be held to the same standards of rideablity and handling as other horses because these traits get passed down to foals, and the most talented horse in the world is useless if it has such a nasty temper no one can handle it.

  • you've mentioned on a previuos comment about Ferro not being on his best behaviour at the Sydney Olympics(which he wasn't) but that could be several things, 1 1 been used for Stud & not concentrating!, seen a mare he likes, one of his off days which every stallion, mare or even a gelding has an off day! everyone does, the World is not perfect you know!

  • I know everyone has an off day... I actually really like Coby. I meant it sucked that she had to blow it at the Olympics in particular because that was probably the major reason he was given to Anky to take to the Athens Olympics where he turned in a performance with her that was no where near as good as this one he did with Coby.

  • you are really pissing me off! and many others bcos you are always comparing other riders to anky's way of riding & saying what a horrible rider she is (she isn't)she has had to work hard for where she is now! i'm sorry but if you are an american well your side of world ride/train differently to us and we don't criticise you!

  • I am not criticising Coby, in fact I praise her. I merely pointed out my disappointment that she happened to have a bad day at the Olympics. However, you are very foolish indeed to think that where I come from has anything to do with my criticism. Anky is not a good rider and while yes she has worked hard to get where she is she has stepped on a lot of people to do it.

  • Several of my trainers have all been European so to say that I ride and train based on some sort of imaginary American only system is ignorant. The difference between Anky and I is that my horse works for me willingly. I can do all the upper level dressage bareback and bridleless and there isn't a chance in hell Anky will ever be able to do that with Salinero because she is so dependent on being able to control his face.

  • Now if you want to see a really good dressage rider who balances true horsemanship with the show world watch and study Isabelle Werth. Her horses are well trained and accepting of the aids. She has been known to go ride Gigolo and others of her horses performing 1 time changes and piaffe/passage all bridleless. Her horses are willing and she rewards every effort.

  • i think you would like to look at that comment and believe it or not was from myself as i lived in Germany for 2 years and watched the programme and was proud that my favourite rider isabell being able ride bare back!

  • Well good for you that you found at least one worthy rider for your support. Though I am beginning to get the feeling you cannot discern between good riders and bad but feel they are all good in and they have your unquestioning devotion no matter their merits.

  • haven't you realised that Isabell uses Rollkur too many German riders do! Hubertus schmidt, klaus balkenhol.

  • I have seen all these riders train. They teach that when a horse is locking it jaw in a refusal to bend, increase the bend for a moment until the horse gives in and then release and give the horse back the rein and return to the original bend that was desired. What Anky does is pin the horse's face to its chest and never let it up for sometimes 45min of working at trot, canter, etc without ever releasing the pressure.

  • it's ok at times to miss spell certainly after working in stressful job as i do "Airbus" heard of it? Quality Egineer for single aisle.

  • What she does is a variation of a practice that is now outlawed in the Western disciplines (but still unfortunately practiced on occasion) in which the horse is tacked up and then its head is tied around to the side by the girth and left in its stall like this for 1/2 an hour to several so that when the horse goes in the class its neck is so exhausted it will hang its head in the dirt and not make a fuss to evade if the rider does something wrong.

  • i think you need to live in europe for a while and find that this is not true and you will see these riders riding in the Rollkur position but longer! but i am not going against these riders bcos it's the way i train and is not what it seems to many people out there!

  • Well from the standpoint of a biomechanical engineer your full of shit. Rollkur is one of the most damaging exercises one can do to a horse. And whooped-de-do! your a quality control engineer and you think that is stressful and therefore justifies your lack of attention to detail? This is exactly what your problem is in dressage... you miss the fine details.

  • i love riding because it relaxes me and i have a great feel for my horses when they are relaxed or when they get tensed by a spook. they performane horses but then they deserve to have a little play now and again. My job is very stressful but also rewarding especially when you see the World's Largest plane flying the A380.

  • As of now the A380 is still in the works... don't count your chickens before they hatch because there are several engineering flaws that need to be worked out with that plane.

  • hear we go again! there is nothing wrong with the plane. It's boeing with the problem "Dreamliner" A380 is such a beautiful plane, quiet, and just had another 30 oders for it because who wanted to the Dreamliner were disappointed with delayed deadlines so went back to the A380.

  • I have no interest or ties with Boeing... I can just see some very worrisome problems in the design and so can engineers from Lockehead Martin and Caltech, etc. some of the most prominant experts in their fields.

  • Ok it took me awhile to sort through all the crap... but if you copy this into the bar you can see a true piaffe and how it is used to setup for the airs above the ground. "Piaffe and levade, under saddle"

  • going to bed 'goodnight' got work in the morning

  • having the horses kept pulled down tight is cruel - but Rollkur is not that all. there is a soft hand throughout the training, with a relaxed neck, back, making the muscles stronger. you have put that method wrongly campared to Rollkur which in fact is wrongly said. It means round in English but Rollkur is deep, energized training to create energy, power, softness.

  • It creates a horse that is on the forhand because as long as the head is behind the vertical the horse is incapable of lifting his shoulders off the ground correctly. Notice in the footage of her warmups the balance of the horses is always down. This blocks the horse from coming under from behind and pushing up so this training comes back to haunt them when their piaffe and passage comes around because the horse is so on the forhand.

  • No it doesn't because the horse would not be able to do piaffe, passage all the advanced as they need to work from behind to them upwards.

  • Piaffe is the stepping stone to the airs above the ground, to be done correctly it requires the horse to squat behind and lift the forehand off the ground. It is the setup for the airs above the ground so it is supposed to be done in the correct balance for the horse to at a moments notice go into a levade, corbette, etc.

  • I invite you to please tell me your experience in riding in America that allows you to assert that we all ride and train differently than you. I also invite you to provide proof that Anky is a good horsewoman. My opinions are always based on fact and if you can provide evidence I will be more than willing to listen but attacks on my nationality will convince nobody. Another example of true dressage you are familiar with is Wansuela Suerte.

  • my riding experiences are probably much more than yours! when i was younger i used to ride for young junior showjumping, compete in working hinter classes, pony clubs. But now i do the seriuos stuff Dressage up to grand prix, i also ride in riding club events for fun, pre novice eventing, fun rides for charity. i am not saying you aren't experienced but u do sound very young to me and need to mature a bit to live in this world b4 critisicing b4 knowing them!

  • The problem as you will find is that their are few honest trainers now because to tell their clients the truth would be to risk losing business and their livelihoods.

  • my instructor is honest and will say if it's the wrong way. she is to experienced she used to ride along side Mary King, lucinda green, mark todd for christ sake!

  • What is your trainers name? As for sounding young consider how many words you frequently misspell... really for a 24 year old you English, of which you British are so proud, is fairly poor even for the standards of a simpleton American.

  • She is relaxed throughout the entire performance accepting the leg and hand aids (showing she has been properly accustomed to a double bridle and it is being used appropriately). It lacks the flash and flair that people commonly mistake as dressage but the origins of dressage are in battle training where energy could not be wasted and so the most conservative energy efficient way of going was far more desired, this form was still used in cavalries until after WWI, it is basic remount training.

  • What is now seen in the show ring is an off-chute of dressage that was used for nobleman and royalty to look good on parade horse. These horses were trained by the court masters until they would maintain these "proud" carriages on their own even under poor riders like the nobleman(though there were a few that could ride well most could not) they often carried around.

  • Anyone who tells you it is hard work to ride a well trained GP horse is either lying their ass off or doesn't know anything about dressage a GP horse should be in self-carriage and able to maintain what ever work asked of them by themselves until they are told to do something else. Any real trainer knows this and knows it is actually much harder to ride and properly school a green horse.

  • yeah... they were a lovely match. too bad she kinda blew it at Sydney and had such a bad ride they gave him to Anky >.< Anky just couldn't ride this horse the way Coby could.

  • you can't say that! everyone is different, of cause he would have been ridden differently if Anky ridden him. Doesn't mean she couldn't ride him better bcos everyone has there own way of riding. in fact you cannot change the horses pace but the way he goes.

  • oh brother... if you were trying or a complete imbicile you could make the most talented horse in the world look like an absolute plug. all it takes is the ability to unbalance them a little by sitting like a sack of potatoes (flop flop flop)

  • 5 Stars!

  • Holy crap - from extended trot straight to PASSAGE - Ferro was the king !

  • mooi gedaan ;)

  • It isn't the original music of the Horsedance ;)

This was my first one, now I have a better one to celtic music ;)

  • Not too bad of a ride but lousey choice of music.
