Adrenaline, and esp. this song, is pretty heavy and could be compared to some of the so-called "nu metal" songs at the time, but Deftones have always been more atmospheric and experimental. Shit, Saturday Night Wrist was almost a shoegaze album. I don't even know what "nu-metal" actually is. If it includes bands like Linkin Park, Disturbed, and Limp Bizkit, then Deftones have never sounded like those band.
