  • Suzette, I've been one of the strongest advocates against eminent domain abuse, having attended protests, written blogs and op-eds, and even testified before the Assembly Commerce and Economic Development Committee. I want to emphasize as strongly as possible that your story is being done a huge disservice by having your part played by Brooke Shields. Shields has zero talent, which is why I and other actors have led a 35-year boycott of her work. Please consider recasting; you deserve better.

  • @laurele861 you advocate for you own beliefs by undermining Brookes Talent. That is not fair to say the least. Brooke has done more work than you for sure. I would love this story to be told and i like Brooke Shields.

  • @rubien44 You have absolutely NO DATA to base that claim on. Brooke has no talent, never did, never will. She is a joke in the acting world. I've done way more & better work than her. Like who you want; there's no accounting for taste. Some people like Sarah Palin.

  • @rubien44 And she is also the daughter of a real estate developer. Development money funded her career to begin with. How can someone like that understand the plight of a small property owner?

  • @laurele861 Why is it that you need to put down an actress because she believesin such case to share the story for people? Aren't you supposed to be non comformist and free to expand your interest to a whole variety of life's choices as you mentioned about yourself. Nevertheless it is a bit hypocritical from your side to say an artist like her is nothing at all and should not develop herself to such projects or use her talents. I find it disrespectful.

  • @rubien44 There is no evidence she believes in this cause, unlike Rosie Perez, who stood publicly by a Brooklyn condo owner threatened with eminent domain by a developer who wanted to build a new stadium for the Nets. There are many other actors and actresses who have long been active in this cause and would make better choices. Brooke Shields is not an artist any sense of the word; she is an opportunist. You're right I have no respect for her; there is no talent there to respect.

  • @rubien44 Amen! This poor woman that goes by the handle " Pluto Girl" is pretty much all over the internet - slamming Brooke Shields and claiming that SHE, not Brooke was the most beautiful teenager that ever lived. She says that she's been doing this " boycott" for 35 years because she feels that Brooke Shields "cheated" her out of her career. Yes, that's right, she think she has more talent and beauty and she should have had the same fame as Brooke Shields. I feel sorry for her...

  • You own NOTHING!

How can you own anything when you tried to pay for it with counterfiet money?

Watch: "Money as Debt" here on YouTube to learn what the REAL problem is!

The Fort Trumbull neighborhood is still empty. Big Corporation Pfizer has completely pulled out. The SCOTUS and City of New London legislators, bureaucrats and business corporations trampled on private property rights and they are not accountable for anything! Now what?

We must have checks and balances. Corruption, self-interests and arrogance in our government abound. Private property owners need judicial protection now more than ever.

Google " Hawaii Eminent Domain Abuse"

  • Oh, this guy is arguing that this is like building the World Trade Center? That's a cheap attempt to get people on his side. Here this guy is talking about the betterment of the people, even though it's just going to be used for entertainment and consumerism, and yet there's nothing even being done to that land now!

  • This case shows what Bad Government can do. Simply terrible. This woman, and others like her got screwed in the worst way. She lost her home. And I saw recently that no development has even occurred since they city took her home. Does anyone know if that's true?

  • I've heard the same thing. I'm looking at this case for a class project, and my partners have told me that her land is just sitting there now with nothing being done to it. Really twisted. You wouldn't think this sort of thing could happen, and it's unsettling to see how larger corporations and government have such control over our lives.

  • Yes, it is true! The land that Pfizer was going to use is completely empty. If anyone wants to get the low-down on Kelo v. New London, read a book by Jeff Benedict called: Little Pink House. It is about GOP Govenor John Rowland, Pfizer Pharma, and how a conservative Supreme Court ruled 5/4 that anyone can pretty much take your land away from you for ANY reason! Good things came out of that ruling though! States woke up and instituted good laws regarding imminent domain.

  • Screw the city. If they can't work out their budget without stealing property from citizens to resell for profit, they can go bankrupt. Citizens don't NEED government and we can do without these kinds of abuse! If they come to take my home this way, I WILL SHOOT THEM.

  • "for the greater good" ...Dangerous words that are used to justify human rights abuses. If they really cared about the greater good, they wouldn't think of stealing our freedom!

  • @truthadvocate And it is too vague to make it fair.

  • Shoot I dispise this kind of abuse that usually comes from the hungry for power rich to the less fortuned all due to dollar signs.

  • Here is another hero from that story:

    watch?v=gaITPIRHJ3c

The first 30 seconds are wasted and irritating. The rest of the video shows Lauren Canario being arrested in New London for sitting on the porch of one of the stolen houses.
